Unlock Door Event (StormKat's way) UPDATED: Change of Terminology of the incorrect word Treasure Chest - "Door."

Goto Tools at the top of your screen, then click Database and in the tab at the top of your screen where it says Items look at the bottom of your screen where it says "Choose Maximum". Create an Item and name it Door Key or whatever you want. Choose whatever graphics you want or create one yourself, you can describe the Item,
or leave it alone and don't change anything there.

In your Editor, first start off by clicking on the icon
called E.V. it is the red initials at the top of your screen, if your a Novice. Located just underneath "Help."

This should bring up the Event grid, right click on an empty event square. This will bring up a small box that says New Event, Quick Event Creation and Set as Starting Position. Click on Quick event Creation and then choose Treasure Chest. Click on the the tiny Graphics window, that displays a Door graphic and change it to what ever Door style you wish. Then hit okay, your Door event will show up in the empty grid. Right click on that Door and choose Edit Event. This will bring you to a larger window with the Chest graphic in the bottom left side of your window.

In the List of Event Commands box, you will see Play S.E. Open, Set Move Route and Switch A on.

Okay, in the empty space above "Play S.E.", right click in that empty space above and choose "Insert" and you will see a new window that will pop up, you will see in bold face print that says Music and Sounds Choose the Sound Effect(Play S.E.) "Open 1" and adjust the Pitch to to whatever you want that seems suitable to you and click okay. Choose "Insert" again and goto Page Tab 1 where it says in bold face print; Flow Control, click on Conditional Branch, you will see a little window popup and it will display tabs 1-4. In the 4th. tab click on a box that says Item and in that box look for the term Door Key or whatever you named it and click okay. That will set your Conditional Branch box. Take the Door commands and highlight them and right click and choose "Cut and Paste" and cut and paste them into the Conditional Branch box one by one. If you know how to highlight them all at once go for it. Next take Switch A On, that is highlighted in red and Cut and paste that Conditional Branch as well.

Under Else, you can say in text, "I don't have a Door Key to open this door." Or, whatever you want that text to be.

Make sure you set your Trigger in the bottom left corner of your screen to "Action Button". Be sure you have done that in my other tutorial the Locked Door Event too. I forgot to mention that in that tutorial.
Now you are done! Congratulations, you have
made your first locked door.

Now on an empty Event grid, right click on that empty space and choose Quick Event Creation for a Treasure Chest, then choose Door Key under Item. Hit Okay because you are going to test that key out on that door.

Congratulations! You created your first Unlock Door event!

If you need anymore help I will "professionally" be happy to help you, just give me a Private Message.
