Sprucing up your Name Imput Screen
This tutorial allows you to used a character's face graphic for the Name Input Processing page. This will require a bit of eventing and a lot of resource making, but it'll pay off in the long run.
To make a face graphic show during name input, create a sprite of the face graphic you'll use. However, you'll need to alter it somewhat. It's rather easy: open up Paint or some other image editing program and create a new image. It should be 4 times the width and height of the face graphic in size, and its background should be transparent. If you don't know how to do this, then I suggest you use the Resource Manager tool instead of saving the completed file directly into the Characters file.
Now, back to the image. Copy the face graphic you want to use for your character, then paste it in so that it snuggles against the top left corner of the image. Then paste the image in again, and place it directly to the right of the first face (still hugging the top wall). Do the same for two more faces worth. If you got it right, then all the pictures should fit snuggly into the picture without a hinge. If not, then adjust the length so that they do.
Save the image in the "Sprites" folder of your project, and give it a name like... say... "Aluxes_Face". Congratulations. The hard part's finally over with.
When you want to use this in your game, then before the "Name Input Processing" command, use a Move Route command to make the player turn right, and change his character graphic to the face graphic you chose. After Name Input Processing, you need to change his character graphic back and have him face whichever direction he was facing before.
And there. You're done.
