Recoloring Sprites - The easy way!
Ever wanted to recolor the sprites you worked so hard to get because you want to make your game unique, but don't know how?
Don't worry! This tutorial will show you the easiest way to recolor your sprites by using one simple program, GIMP!
Materials Needed
----------------
-GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program)
-A sprite sheet (In this example, I'll be using one of Kaduki's Actor 29 sprite sheets)
Tutorial
--------
Let's get to business, shall we?
Using GIMP (or any similar program) will make recreating your sprites easier. Follow these steps and in no time, you will be able to recolor your sprites with no problem!
1) Open up GIMP. Click 'File' and find the sprites you want to recolor.
2) Zoom into the image any percentage you want (I like to zoom in 1600% for precision)

Now, move the scroll bar to any sprite you want. (I'll be using the left top sprite for this tutorial.)
3) Select the 'Pencil' tool and then click the 'Brush' option below the tools. Click THE SMALLEST point setting as shown in the image.

4) Using the 'Color Select' tool, select a region of your sprite you wish to recolor. (In this case, I'll be using Actor 29's hair.) You should see the black box beneath the tools change to the color you selected, as shown in the image.

5) Click on the recolored box twice and you should see a color selection screen.
IMPORTANT : You must change the hue (H) value ONLY. Everything else should remain the same, as shown in the image. The hue needs to be kept the same to make a better recoloring. (In this case, I'll change the hue to 218)

6) Use the 'Pencil' tool to recolor the old color you selected. If you're having trouble, use the sprite right next to the one you want to recolor for reference.

7) Repeat steps 4-6 for everything you want to recolor.
Once your satisfied, click 'Save' or 'Save As' and you're done!
