Invisible Walls
Okay so you might want your character to not be able to pass certain areas of the map. Well with this tutorial you can easily do that.
Step One: Open up a program such as Paint. Make the whole image white so it is blank. It can be any size, but I like to have it as 32x32 or 128x128. Save the image as a .png file and call it something like Wall_Invis or something.
Step Two: Open up RPG Maker XP and at the top go to Tools then click on Materialbase. Go to the Graphics/Characters folder and click Import. Find your Wall_Invis file then it will ask you which colors will be transparent. Left-click and Right-click the image. (This will make your whole image invisible once it's on the map.)
Step Three: Go to your map and click on the Events Layer. Right-click on any part of the map and click New Event. On the left, double-click on the Graphic and select your Wall_Invis image. Click OK, then click Apply and OK.
And there you have it. That event will be invisible and will not be passable. You can copy and paste the event as many times as you want and make multiple invisible walls.
