For the New Guy (More advanced stuff)

Okay! So this is probably what's bothering you the most: "I HATE how the title screen looks!! Can't I change the thing?! It's driving me insane!! ahufahgukahtoiahwglajngaiwohgaeowithapiog!!!!!" It's pretty easy to do. Make your title, save the file as Title (WITH the capital T) and then import it into the system folder of the resource manager. The original title will be replaced with the one you created! *Triumphant music* Should you delete your custom title, you'll be stuck with the default one again though, so make one that you like!

Switches and variables are things I'll cover together. Switches are kinda basic-you plan an event, and when the event is done, you label a switch and turn it on, signifying that the player has completed said event. Self switches are different, though. Say you're doing an event, but you don't want the event to trigger again and again and again, right? Self switch A can be turned on, and when you create a new event page, just set it so that when self switch A is on for that particular event, this or that happens. It's kinda hard to explain, so just futz around with it yourself. Variables are a bit more complicated, but basically they're like vaults for numbers. Useful for a bank event or something like that. In All-Star RPG (Name pending) I'm using a little side-quest involving "Ring Skellies." There will be 100 of them, and each one will want more and more Rings (currency) if you don't want to battle them. Give them too little and you fight 'em. What I did is I used two variables-one for the Rings Skellies that have been beaten, and another for the amount of Rings that you give a Ring Skelly, which resets after each Ring Skelly encounter. You label a variable, then control it by altering the variable's value. In a conditional branch, if X variable is smaller than Y, Z happens. If X variable is greater than Y, A happens. Again, kinda hard to explain, so just create some random event and futz around until you get the hang of it. *Thinking: I really am no help at all*

For those of you who don't know, obviously it wouldn't be that great to just stick with the default characters that are given to you, right? If you're like me (picky, never satisfied) then you want your own characters. This can be done by first making your character. (I'm not telling you how to do that-he's your character!
...Or she's your character.) Save your character with whatever name, but a 288X256 sheet is highly reccomended since it will be WAY easier to pick who you want out. For larger chracters, like Groudon from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, you'll have to use a larger spread. I messed around with it for a long time and found that a 650X520 worked best. ANYWAY, import your character using the resource manager, importing your guy or girl into the Characters folder. Then he or she can be used at will, for comic relief, as the hero, as the villain, as an anti-hero, whoever! Even a lousy NPC (I just use the defaults for them 'cause I don't care enough about NPC's :P)

If any of this is kinda vague, PM me, The Dark Light, and I'll clear anything up for you.
