Introducing RPG Maker XP, the latest Windows entry in the RPG Maker series that gives you the power to create your own original role-playing games. Its popular and highly user-friendly editor interface has been carried over from RPG Maker 2000 and RPG Maker 2003, and its graphic capabilities, battle screen layout, and data packaging features are better than ever. By popular demand, this latest installment also boasts a brand new scripting function.
RPG Maker XP is bound to satisfy beginners and experts alike.
The program was initially only released for Japan. Like the other RPG Maker series, the program was translated into English by people such as Postality Knights and RPG Advocate (their versions being the most widely used) and distributed around the English-speaking communities. Enterbrain, therefore, decided to release the official English version of RPG Maker XP with the condition that the user must purchase the license to use beyond the free 30-day trial period. Since then illegal distribution of the
program has substantially decreased, with many sites supporting only the legal versions.
