U.S.G., an awesome game!

As you have noted, the technology of RMXP is so vast that it lets you do pretty much any type of game you want... it all depends on your imagination, as well how hard you plan on working with it to take advantage of this idea. The creator of U.S.G is one of those few developers who acknowledge this idea and put it on practice... and with this said, let's get to the details.
One of the most impressive things to note about this game, or I should say the first most obvious, is the artwork and graphical design... the art is proffesionally hand-drawn made with beautiful colors.
The character design is really interactive, with many different stances as well many details covered such as expressing most of the emotions and facial expressions in the dialogue. And that's only not to mention that sprites, enemies, and everthing else is fully custom hand drawn too.
As far as the gameplay goes, you are guaranteed that won't be boring. The game is mission based, you
watch a cutscene that explains the story scenario then immediately you are set up on a stage, you beat the
boss of the stage, and so the story moves forward, and so on. You have about 4 different weapons to choose,
based on the four elements (water, fire, thunder, wind)... these weapons have different effects on the monsters you face in space combat, for some of them, the weaker ones, it causes them to be paralized for a short period of time allowing you to do extra damage on them... however using these on enemies that have a high resistance for them would only make things harder. Aside from the weapons, you have support functions too that you adquire through your process in the game.
The difficulty of this game is somewhat challenging. Depends how fast you are and how good you are when it comes to playing space shooting games. However this all depends, since you have the option to choose between 4 different difficulty levels, anything to suit your experience. Most of the customizing over the menu in the intermission before each stage is done using the mouse. You can play the game with the mouse, but I prefer using the keyboard, as It's less difficult for me.
The audio in general is pleasant, as well the musical tunes of each mission and other parts/sequences of the
game have been chosed wisely, as it all fits in overall. However the voice acting of len (your distant co-pilot)... although is decent and tolerable, it could have been done more proffesionally. The selection of tunes is something that you never heard anywhere, which gives the game a new feeling from many musical selection
used in the majority of games out there.
On my opinion, "U.S.G. - A new beginning" is an amazing space shooting game, fast paced and with great graphical design... but it doesn't end there. There is much more to this game! I have chosen not to spoil everything regarding to this game, so you can see it for yourself while playing it. If you are just looking for a fun shooting game, do not look any further, give GP touch's masterpiece a shot, it deserves it!
