The Mansion Review
For a short game... enjoyable.
Review by thejesse081
I honestly do not like the Survival horror genre. I liked Re4 and thats about it. Im also a bit contrary, and tend to nit pick. With that in mind, I enjoyed my hour and a half with this game. The Mansion isn't difficult for those who check EVERYTHING and save OFTEN.
There were times I thought about turning it off and going back to work, mostly because of the slow walking speed, The limited Sprint didnt help much either...
I also feel the game was not scary enough. Dollies slow movement made it hard for her to damage me, and she appeared sparingly. The Mansion itself is quite linear, and there is not much to do besides the main objective... this is expected from such a game, so it didnt bother me much. There is no combat whatsoever, although if you think thats all games are about you are sorely mistaken, it added to the ambiance of being a defenseless little child.
The Characters are not very developed, but somewhat memoriable.
The story makes the game.

It wasn't to complicated, but not stupidly simple either,
think like a low budget disney channel movie. I feel with a little effort, the game could have been greatly improved. The S ending for example, I expected to be a bit better, but it still provided neccesary closure to feel like you finished. The bigger cutscenes were not shown, just a black screen... this left me feeling a bit empty.
=====Spoilers end here========
I give the games story a 7/10. The gameplay a 3/10 and the somewhat repetitive mapping a 5/10. Total overall Id say a 6.5/10.
If you don't like storylines and want to go straight to the action, this game is not for you. If you want a nice story to play through when nothings on tv. This is your game.
