Don's Adventures Review
Spiffy!
Review by Fighter
I really don't know what to think of this 'game'. As a learning tool to new RPG Maker 2000 users, it was invaluable -- it documented the fundamental features of the engine through example -- but as a game, it's... well... average. It's best not to over-analyze it, as the game is a sample for an engine nearly a decade old, but here goes. The game is obviously entirely default in terms of graphics, monsters, music, etc. The dialogue is almost entirely in broken English, which is certainly a plus. The gameplay itself is pretty much bread and butter early RM2K. But for its time, I think its leagues ahead of anything produced in terms of fluidity, function, etc.
Overall, the game is pretty standard fare, but for novelty purposes is well worth it. As a learning tool, I think it's pretty much outdated, so it's only distinct feature is its 'Donglish'.
