So lets get right into it with Dungeons: Critical Hit.
You're looking at a very well balanced RPG here. We have immersive gameplay, aimed at the completionist. What's really nice though is that the game keeps from getting stale by allowing some great spell and class combinations, and the option to pick where your stats go.
To be honest, I thought right off that Dungeons: Critical Hit was a game with no story where you just aimlessly wander through randomly generated mazes to find a door to the next dungeon. Fortunately that isn't the case, as when you reach every 5th floor you're greeted with a boss and a minor plot-point.
The game has a bit of potential to give you something different every time you delve into the dungeons. What helps is that Dungeons: Critical Hit is neither tedious nor overwhelming, so you don't get bogged down if you're a completionist and quit one hour in without making at past the 5th floor. Sometimes, there's just so much content in a game that you become overwhelmed quickly, this is not one of those games.
There's also a good amount of scripting going on here, which helps boost the game from it's competitors. You'll notice some good interaction between your heroes and their graphics, which really helps bring you into the game. Custom menu screens allow for deeper customization, and every icon fits with their class to give a general feel to them.
Dungeons: Critical Hit felt pretty original to me, though not all parts of it were original. It borrows a lot of ideas and elements from other games, but in the end Dungeons: Critical Hit makes them their own.
It is currently just a demo, but over-all it's a game with a lot of potential. Because I'm not sure what kind of polish is going to be added, and what changes will be seen, I will leave this at a 9 in hopes that the creator will take it where it needs to go and to assure him he's doing a good job.
