You'll immediately be impressed.

Review by Titanhex

First off the title screen is amazing. Very beautiful, lots of wonderful artwork. You can tell right away a lot of detail went into this game.

To-date, this game is one of the most overhauled RM games I've seen. Every script seems to have been modified heavily to make it unique, and it shows. If it wasn't for the copyrighted music and the Ragnarok battlers you could sell this game.

There could be more animation in battles, as some of the visual effects are a little uninspired.

The game gets pretty interesting right from the start though. The story is original, insofar as I haven't seen an RM game or too many RPGs use it. Yet it keeps you hooked and wondering, what is going to happen next and where does all of this fit in? Why are the things happening that are? I found myself wanting to learn more.

You do a pretty good job of telling two stories at once too. We quickly forget about the futuristic story as the game transitions, and when we return to it we remember exactly what was going on and what was happening.

I hope you go back and make more emphasis with the Blinders, though I trust you will.

One of my qualms takes us back to battling. You start off a fight with two options, defend or attack. It takes 2 rounds before Kyrel can even use a skill, and this is for every battle. Nelis can use her magic right away, but if she does she doesn't gain any GP, so our only options with her are to either defend for GP boosts, attack for super low damage, or cast magic and gain no GP.

Then we get to the enemies. It really becomes an auto-attack-fest, especially when you're trying to farm items for upgrades and missions. (The drop rate seemed to go from 1% for an hour then jumped to 90% for unexplainable reasons, which was maddening.) And even Jambiyal just auto-attacked.

I'll admit, by the time I was done with all the missions and decided to kill Debayara, I was able to kill him in 3 rounds dealing 150, 150, then 950 damage (Party was lvl 18/20/19). There was no contest. If the drop rate for items was much higher I'd probably have been a much lower level. Something to think about.

To sum up the problem, raise the drop rate for items so players aren't getting ridiculously high levels trying to find items, and make the battles up to Deborah a bit more strategic by giving monsters some deeper strategy. (Why is there an anti-poison herb if nothing in the game causes poison btw?)

So that's the negative side of the battle system. The positive are pretty big. You got the elemental wheel when you fight Debayara for the first time, which can actually be pretty strategic. I like it, a lot. (But Nelis's aura seemed like it was Neutral when it was suppose to be Destruction)
And the way the elements play a role is really engaging, works great with the destruction/creation cycles. I imagine when you start running into more elemental enemies it deepens the battles greatly.

Also the Combo for Kyrel is a great little system. I can do combo up to level 4, but 5 and 6 are downright impossible. Perhaps the white bars are a bit too small of a window for the average player, and could be increased.

The Extension abilities are also awesome. Having to input a sequence and hit space in a time limit is pretty cool. It draws away from the tedium of the game.

There really is a lot going on for this game. It's amazing. Anyone should play it, and i hope you continue to develop it. If you find someone to sprite and compose for it you should market it.
