Dragon Fantasy Review
Dragon Fantasy, much better than I thought.
Review by WhoamI
The early Dragon Warrior games (1, 2, and 3) (Quest for some other people) are some of my favorite games, so when I saw this, I thought I might as well try it out.
And it was much better than my expectations.
Most of the sounds and music are from Final Fantasy, but the maps and pretty much everything else are like Dragon Warrior(Quest)
*some spoilers*
You start the game by choosing what gender you want to be and your name. Then it goes through the basic storyline
and you need to go through a simple 3 level cave. after that you realize the crystals have been tainted and you must free them from evil. A short time passes and you are sent to free the princess of the kingdom from the black mage Vlad. and from there on out, the story goes on.
*no spoilers*
Graphics: 8/10. It's supposed to look 8-bit and it has a retro feel to the game. Looks very nice. However, sometimes the world map gets a little confusing.
Story: 6/10 Not the greatest story. But for it to be a remake of an 8-bit game, I won't knock much off it.
Like Dragon Warrior(Quest), but with Final Fantasy elements.
Replay Value: 5/10 Like most Dragon Warrior(Quest) games, you beat it once and never again.
Difficulty: 10/10. Early on, it's fairly easy, but soon enough, you NEED magic just to survive.
Average 7.25 rounded up to 7.5
Closing thoughts: Very nicely done. It's quite good (Going by 8-bit standards), but I'm not sure how many other people would like it outside of Dragon Warrior(Quest) or some Final Fantasy fans.
