Paper Mario Eggstreme Review
Paper Mario Eggstreme, short fun game.
Review by Antifarea
There has been a couple of games that are fan-based on many popular franchises, such as Final fantasy, Zelda, and of course, the popular Mario and Yoshi ones... In many cases, fan creations are not always what we expect them to be. Like in this case with Paper Mario Eggstreme, instead of your expected "to be" platformer action RPG just like it's commercial Paper Mario games, this one is all about the total opposite! Read below...
Paper mario Eggstreme consists in shooting a certain amount of targets whithin an specific setup time in order to advance to the next level. While this game will only feature a few stages, still, it is not as easy to play the whole game through in an instant. Aside from good aiming, it will take some timing and practice so you can get the hang of it.
The speed of the game varies depending on the stage that you are in... some stages, you will be required to do things faster, while in others you just take your time and aim more carefully. Things can get hectic if you
start shooting the eggs constantly, as you will run out of them and you will have to consume fruits that will make the eggs grow again inside of yoshi so you can throw them again. Do things as best as you can, or be ready
to be frustrated when this happens!
Graphically, the game has a decent look, despite the limits of the maker it was created with... but still, graphics could have being more polished... the interface of each stage is nicely done, as well the picture-based animations of the enemies you have to take down too... however, there were parts where graphics were missing, such as when saving the game, and other small similar things on the game.
Here's how the in-game graphical interface looks like:

The music is midi based, but it won't be a pain to listen to it, considering the tunes match well the atmosphere of
each one of the stages. Sounds are well chosen, mostly taken from mario games... no sounds when browsing the
menu choices however.
My conclusion, this game is more intended to be played by fans of nintendo games such as the Mario franchises, but either way, it can be somewhat fun to anyone else who gives it a try. Still, It would have resulted a lot more fun if details such as the game being short among other small ones, would have been improved.
