2008-06-18 - Hello everyone, this is the next biggist update here at RRR. It's been a couple weeks since our last recognizable update, and this one won't let you down either.

There are some new features available for registered members. There's quite a few of them, so I'll list it out for everyone.

My Submissions

On the upper-left user box on the main site, you'll see a new link available called 'My Submissions'. So, what does this do exactly? Well, just like the title says, it brings you to a control panel listing all your current submissions to the site (games, tutorials, etc). By using this friendly control panel, users may actually 'EDIT', 'UPDATE', and 'ADD' stuff to their pages.

This is a very handy feature. Let's say you have a tutorial you submitted, but you accidently messed up the BB Code and now the format is all weird. Well, you can just click the 'My Submissions' link, click the tutorial you submitted, and viola! Everything is available for you to change as you see fit.

Game Submissions

I know this has been long overdo, but RPG RPG Revolution is now accepting game submissions! Submitting a game is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

1. Click the "Submit Game" link on the main site under your user box.
2. Fill in your basic game information.
3. Go to "My Submissions" and add screenshots, game downloads, and edit to your preference.

The game submissions are very open source, and it's more like a project site rather than a game submission form. Unlike other sites, you just don't submit your game and say to hell with it. Games are interactive for both the developer AND the players. Update your game, and add to it as you see fit! Please remember to read the rules though on the submission page.

Editing Your Game

I don't believe there's any need to cover tutorials, as the edit form is very simple. However, I feel a need to explain the game edit form because it's a little more complicated.

I'll try my best to explain the key features of the game edit form.

Adding and Removing Downloads
People submitting games may add downloads for their game. Your game's current downloads will be listed under 'Game Downloads'. From there you can change the download's information, URL, etc and press 'Edit' to change it. If you would like to remove a download, all a person would need to do is click the 'Delete' button next to the download. To add a download is just as easy. Under 'Create Download', just fill in the download's information and click 'Create'. It's a very simple process. Unfortunately, we do not support uploads for the files, so a developer must use URLs to sites like megaupload.com in order to add downloads. If a download is added, a staff member will eventually upload it to the site and update the file location.

Adding and Removing Screenshots
Screenshots, unlike downloads, are a lot more simple and can actually be uploaded to the site. To add a screenshot just go to 'Screenshots', click 'Browse', select the image you wish to add to your game, and click 'Upload'. Your screenshot will be uploaded and added to your project's page. To delete a screenshot, just go under 'Screenshots' and you'll see a list of screenshots added to your game. Click the 'Delete' button next to the screenshot and viola, deleted. Very simple.

Custom Member Profiles

This was a function we had before the new site, and it has come back better than ever! Member's may now access their very on-site custom profile page! You can access your profile by clicking on your name while anywhere on the main site. The easiest way for this would be to probably click your name in user box.

My Profile: http://www.rpgrevolution.com/member-1.html

From there, your forum profile, game submissions, review submissions, and tutorial submissions will all be listed under your name. More submissions will add to the counts under 'Your Legacy'.

-----------------

This concludes the new functions for the site. I hope this will allow members more freedom to work with their submissions and developers, writers, and players can enjoy themselves more.

PS.

I spent 12 hours just coding the submission control panel by myself, so PLEASE make the best use of it. Also, enjoy!
