"The Sprite Wheel"

Well, this is my first hmm... how may I put it... article? Yeah that will do for now! *Ahem* article about my works for Kailis the Crystal Souls and so I think I will start with my opinion on the designer's choice for graphical style and how I adapt to it.

First thing I was told regarding Kailis visuals was that the default template for charactersets was Breeze by Green Raven. Now never talked to GR besides one comment on his topic to say exactly my opinion on his template: It is one of my favorite templates and if I knew it sooner I would probably use that rather than making my own small template. Breeze looks cute, is one tile tall and is quite simple to work with, although I must say that posing with it is a bit limited, but that is true for most small templates so whatever.

With the template came the simplicity for general graphics like the tilesets: having small characters makes tileset objects smaller so they occupy less tiles. Also the color and contour style are more cartoon-like which gives me some freedom to work with in terms of shapes, though I have to hold on a bit on details so things won't be polluted.

Still on tilesets, the San'ru cave tileset for Kailis was my first full RMXP sized tileset since before I just messed with prototype tilesets for my RMXP projects and made some RM2k3 stuff.

So far it has been nice to work with Axerax, he is not too picky nor demanding and gives me a lot of freedom regarding schedules and work priority and I just hope that my spriting is up to the project's standards.
