"A Beautiful Day"

Author: Mike (Axerax)
Coincidentally enough, I am listening to that song as I
type this, but that is beyond what I want to talk about. We
at Luna Productions have been working on Kailis now for 2
years as a team, and I my self have been with it for 8 years
coming October 21st, 2008. We have signed onto partnerships
with Oceanwave Studios for musical resources custom for our
games and Dragonfly Studios for custom artwork for not only
the game, but every art aspect on top of my own concept
work.
In months past, I made a website, my first actually,
and it was dedicated to Kailis: The Crystal Souls, however
what a mistake that was. In the process I eventually began
to allow other projects to add onto our team name that were
very worthy of it, and showed significant process. Because I
had the website under "Kailis" changing the name was quite
hard as it required us to rewrite the entire FTP under a new
name, Luna Productions. I created a website for not only
Luna Productions, but one of my older games that reaches far
from the realms of Kailis, instead into a world called
Marrico, the game genre is to be a tactical/horror RPG with
a chilling story and over 25+ quests, story, and more. This
project is on hold while Kailis 1-3 is in development. Our
other two projects are LIFE and Memory. Well while making
these websites, I added the others onto the Luna Productions
main site, from there viewers can donate to us to improve
our websites and games, see our project web pages, and dive
into an indie development group that is non-profit at the
moment and runs under RMXP/VX. Most of the web pages were
set up similar to each other, a main window frame, content
inside the frame, a fancy background border with links to
change material in this frame. Kailis's was just the same,
very flashy and very laggy... sooo laggy.
Due to that fact and how many complaints I've gotten
about it, we still manage to have over 7000+ viewers within
3 months and we still get more to this day. In fact here is
the latest results so far that we have at approximately
8:19pm, CST.

*1 This is Unique Visits, I don't have the original counter
results for unique visits in my possession.
*2 This is the total page views AFTER I added a new one that
records behind the scenes. The counter I had before, had
around 2,500 views ticked onto it and it was only on for a
month.
I do feel this may be from my signatures in forums I
frequent to be up-to-date on RMXP/VX Fodder, manage my
Kailis forum, and more. However, Kailis has gotten a lot of
publicity from websites that house hundreds of members, my
team and even our partnerships spreading the word of this
game. I am quite happy and it is surely what I have striven
to achieve in all my years of working with this game.
To be back on topic of the website, as you already see
because you are reading this blog, that I have completely
redone the website to achieve a more professional approach.
I do plan to have special backgrounds for holiday events,
episode releases, demo releases, and more as time goes on.
If anyone has noticed that our website looks similar to
another, well you would be quite right. I was inspired by
the design that the Wakfu website had and decided to create
a similar but not duplicate website. Our website doesn't
support the type of JavaScript theirs does, it isn't backed
by professionals, and definitely won't be as flashy until
later days. I wanted a base to work from and then make it
our own, I feel I succeeded well in this department. I also
would like to state, I did not use any code that was on
their site, I developed the entire site from Photoshop,
FrontPage 2003, and scratch, since I made the graphical
aspects besides our official art, partner logos, and
affiliates banners. Though most pieces were tailored to suit
the site needs.
Do we have fans now? I have gotten a bit of fan art
here and there, and they are proudly posted up in our
website gallery. However, I don't usually hear much from
them often, and when I do it has been anxiousness about us
releasing the new demo that we have been promoting and
working on diligently since late November of 2007. I do love
hearing from them as do all our team members, it really gets
us motivated! And i'm not saying this just to say it, I do
mean it, nothing inspires me more and give me a feeling of
joy than reading comments from fans!
Well in recent hours I received a request from an
online magazine for RpgRpgRevolution to have our game
featured in their magazine. We plan to deliver! I am quite
excited and I'm sure my team and our partners would love to
be involved. After it is all said and done I will provide
another blog with the results.
In another turn of events, I finally found a suitable
career in which I can support not only my self, a family,
and my game full time, I decided to try and go into the
military. I won't disclose what division, because that is
not for me to declare. I am quite happy I will finally be
able to pursue my dreams with a chin held high and do it all
on my own without to many restrictions I had when I was in
my youth. So wish me luck.
I guess as a final word before I end this, I am happy
to say that I am pleased with progress in the game, we are
quite close to getting our tech demo out (Alpha Demo) which
will be closed testing. Until I see more I can't mention
much more. And with that said I will talk to you all another
week!
