What begins as the potential destruction of an empire may very well become the potential destruction of an entire planet.

Abandoned after a failed assassination attempt on the Emperor of Nafein, Nickel Arand finds himself running from the law while being light years away from his native planet of Miidrio, light years away from any communication between his home and a technologically primitive world. While keeping himself out of prison, though, he must contend with the task of blending in with unfamiliar cultures, dangerous monsters, and his own strange catatonic episodes, with only a fleeting hope of someday returing to Miidrio.

This strange new world, though, will not be without its own struggles. A cruel matriarch waits for the opportunity to strike a weakened Nafein empire; a long lost artifact is recovered with the power to rival the gods. The sanctity of the realm, the balance that preserves its very existence, will face a catastrophe eons in the making.

Highly trained yet highly inexperienced, Nickel Arand, the stranger from another land, will inadvertently become this planet's only hope.

I no longer update on this site. Lack of interest and constructive criticism made me move my general notes and updates to another forum. There's a chance I might update this download eventually, but don't count on it.

I hope you find many of your "weak points" to be absolved come the next release, which is scheduled for Christmas of this year. Please try to keep in mind that you've only played an hour through the game Smiley

The maps were beautiful, I loved those. The item and skill upgrade system looked interesting, too. Combat was OK, the monsters' abilities are interesting but waiting to get back control of your character after a monster uses its ability gets annoying after a while.

Character development was the weak point, Nickel is an assassin but for no clear reason he develops a moral sense after a certain point. The nature of the conflict between the princess and her father is never too clear either, nor is that made into a big enough mystery that I felt it would be explained later on in the story. So overall I rated it 4/5.

Hmm. Does remind me of a final fantasy, mostly FFIV, Nickel seems like Cecil to me, but that may be because I WANT to see Cecil in him, so I can compare yours to such a truly great game. 4/5, and moving up.

Thanks for the comment. Both of those issues have been resolved since the initial demo release in May. Expect the full version of Part I by the end of August.

I played it, and went through the first area, surprised to se it was only a demo! For that first dungeon, excellant design, only there were various glitches - the slime boss for one, when it splits the little slimes spam freeze making it impossible for you to move, then when they reformed, i got stuck 'inside' of the boss, unable to move or damage it. besides that, and a few minor bugs, very great display of design. I give it a 4/5; because I was looking forward to playing the whole game! what a teaser Smiley
