Well, to fulfill some requests, in response to some critics and inputs and to make a work template for next VadisGames projects, we proudly release the fifth full version of FireHeart - Legend of the Paladins Book One: The Bounty Hunters Game.
Platform: PC Game Offline
Genre: Fantasy Traditional RPG
Engine: RPG Maker VX
Added features:
- Mini-maps
- Large Party Changer menu
- Added a few monsters and changed some battle and in-game background music
- Screen modification menu
- Battle backgrounds
- Lighting torch effect in dark caves
Added but non-functional features:
- Quests in main menu (please ignore that because we're still using old quest system using "Quest Log" items)
- Some things are left unchanged because the new scripts from Yanfly+KGC crashed during test.
- Clouds in world maps are not applied yet.

um i'm having problems with the house with the wizards hat in a chest. I can"t leave the house so is there anything i can do to get out. P.S. It one of the real estate houses in Partridge Town. :( |

From the info you provided, I guess next up would be Chapters 2, which I look forward to when you get around to it. In the meantime, I'll make sure to check out your website to learn about the novel upon which the game is based upon. |

err... i tried to play it again in the current version and the bug didn't occur, yet i've "improved" the eventing to prevent possible bugs in the future and shall upload the collective fix much, much later. thx ed for the extensive comment. |

Guess what, I fixed the issue in an unexpected way. I used the savefile I made before the issue appears in version 1.1 and the masked man appears and the story moves on. The difference I noticed was that while in the newer version he appears from above facing left before the game freezing, in version 1.1 he appears from the left goes to the intersection, says what he needs to say, takes a few steps up and disappears from the screen. After that, I saved and will continue in the newer version.
I suspect the issue, if such exists in the newer version, is that the starting position of the masked man somehow got changed to where he exited, so that when tried to walk right, he bumped into the wall. Since the game doesn't return control back to the player until the event occurred completely, that's probably why it got stuck altogether. Perhaps you and the other guy you mentioned played it in version 1.1. It makes me think that you accidentally introduced the bug upon fixing the game. I'm not blaming you, but if true, somebody else will complain!

Ah, really? The last time I beta-tested it, the masked man came out okay and I advanced without bug/error.
And the other guy in RPGVX forum, he already got to the last stage (chapter 7).
Still, I've re-checked it, improved the eventing (which might've been the problem) and must "collect" all of the other possible bugs before I release the fix.
Good idea there, Ed. However, since the ppl around me don't quite into RPG games, I got to ask for help from u or other ppl in RPG forums, and the only way I can "send" the game to be beta-tested is to upload ("release" it. So, I really apologize for the trouble and thank you all for downloading FireHeart.

I downloaded your latest version and was able to advance to the jailbreak. That is, until a hit another bug ...
In the part when you flip some switches to open doors, after flipping enough switches to go back and get the treasure from the beginning of this section. After taking the step that triggers the appearance of the masked man (I'll prevent a spoiler here), the screen freezes so that the game doesn't respond to any keyboard command. Oddly enough, though, music still keeps playing in the background ...
This bug stops me from getting further! Still, thanks for the release on Valentine's Day ... Might I suggest though, you have some more people other than yourself beta-test whatever comes from your next project? |

That's it. I've beta-tested the whole game and fixed all bugs that I could find. This is the final version, and it's time for me to move to the next project.

now that's one of the bugs i've mentioned... tell you what, just press f9 in the map, turn off all the dungeon switches a to f (s43-48).
if u can't do it, please get back to the uvarse field and save your game there. i'm beta-testing it to chapter 6 now and i'll post the bug-fixed, final version as soon as i'm done. thanks very much for downloading, ed. |

I tried using the old save with the fixed and as with wraptorman, still had problems. Thus, I replayed it and after handing in the cobalt, the correct scenes triggered, so that I was able to get Robert at the pub ... Also noticed, that the two drunks (gamblers?) that knew about Robert were know always at the pub.
Anyway, I got to finish the troll mission, but I don't know what to do next ...
A couple of questions so far:
- are you supposed to do something with the extra cobalt with the weaponsmith (the guild master mentioned something regarding being able to sell it or have a weapon made out of it!)?
- somebody in the Robert's birhplace village mentioned something about taking care of 15 dead weeds ... is this an actual sidequest you can do?
Also, I have to mention another bug: when you first enter Varestine and after you collect the reward for the troll mission, you get the cutscene shown here regarding Robert's mentor ... |

I hope you have checked your e-mail for the savefile. As you notice, when you face the innkeeper and turn left the message saying you need to check on Robert appears. However, you aren't able to walk into the inn any further. Also, the bed in the room where Robert was before is empty, so that's why I'm stuck ...
Regarding the ratings, they are pretty arbitrary here, since people seem to vote without playing the game and just based on the description (also some of the 10 best rated games don't even have a demo). Based on what I have played of your game, yours is one of the more promising RMVX games, which are usually pretty bland ... |

Ew, perhaps you should check into Robert's room in the inn first, enter all the way towards Rob's bed. I'll fix this problem immediately should that didn't work and upload another demo.

Unfortunately, when I go to the pub, Robert isn't there??? I guess the best solution is for me to send you the savefile to take a look. Somehow, the trigger you had failed ... And yeah,try when you try to leave through the lady ranger tent, she does mention that you need to have Robert ...
Regarding the issue of ATB vs passive, the other thing with ATB, it makes it less of a strategic fight. Also, you pretty much have determined the order of turns and you can't have some randomness involved (for instance, with two characters with similar agility or speed, having the slightly slower one have their turn earlier in a round).

You should go to the pub again to meet Robert there. Talk to him, he'll join your group and you'll on to the next quest and the lady ranger will let you pass.
Maybe I should make a reminder here and there...
Hmm, I think I should stick to the passive mode then, because the ATB system those guys invented ain't provide the option to switch into passive (or I don't know about it yet). The ATB might be more exciting in term of graphic etc, but maybe I can use some more opinions. Thankx, edchuy. |

Vadis,
After getting the cobalt reward, I was told by one of the guild girls about the next quest. I can't go anywhere new (the guard block the path and the ranger in the tent say I can't pass yet) and when I enter the inn, once I face left in front of the innkeeper I get a comment saying we should check on Robert, but I can't go any further into the inn. What I am supposed to do?
Regarding your question, I personally am I bit old school and prefer the turn-based fights. If you implement ATB, I feel you need to let people choose whether they can have a passive option, to make it turn-based like. |

The project began in February 2009 and reaching the start of the final chapter (Chapter 7) in November 16, 2009.
One question, guys. Should I keep this current side-view battle setting I implemented in this game or the Active Timed Battle (ATB)? Feedbacks are welcome. I've posted a thread in the forum too. Thanks for your attention, RPG lovers!
