Game Maker 7 Lite
Do you want to develop computer games without spending countless hours learning how to become a programmer? Then you've come to the right place. Game Maker allows you to make exciting computer games, without the need to write a single line of code. Making games with Game Maker is a lot of fun.

Using easy to learn drag-and-drop actions, you can create professional looking games within very little time. You can make games with backgrounds, animated graphics, music and sound effects, and even 3D games! And when you've become more experienced, there is a built-in programming language, which gives you the full flexibility of creating games with Game Maker. What is best, is the fact that Game Maker can be used free of charge.

You can do anything you want with the games you produce, you can even sell them! Also, if you register your copy of Game Maker, you can unlock extra functions, which extend the capabilities of the program. Game Maker comes preloaded with a collection of freeware images and sounds to get you started.

You may register with YoYoGames and Download GM7 Lite, by clicking HERE.

Please note this is not the full version of Game Maker 7. Game Maker is a retail software which requires a license. However, Game Maker 7 Lite is a legal trial version of Game Maker 7 which allows you to do anything the full version is capable of except with a few limitations.

I've been using GM6. How does 7 compare?
LRG

As far as I can see almost no difference, mostly on the extensions there's differences but I rarely use extensions. however I would recommend getting 7 for Vista compatibility and most examples and tutorials are going to be GMKs now. 7.0 is the was to go. thumbsup.gif
Raid
I have it licensed happy.gif ,the codes and such still give me a hard time ;d
Fighter
I still prefer GM6 for some reason.
LRG
hey Pickle, maybe you could sticky the Dia RPG Builder too!

This may be a long shot with this but the only other builder that I've used of this kind was The Games Factory, I don't suppose GM7 is as simple as that for creating platform games?
Just an example of what I mean: Drag and drop item, select from an option as to what it does - If 'Player' Collides with 'Enemy_Attack' then Destroy 'Player'

It would be cool if I could find the CD that I had all the graphics for that and remake my old platform project on that once again.

Those features aren't really used, most people use GML.

You know, I've never seen game maker in action.

Not a screen shot, not anything. Can someone maybe tell me what it's like?

I've had my head stuck so far up RMXP, RMVX and Realm Crafter's butt that I really havent had the time to go checking out other makers...

I suggest you to take a look at yoyogames.com to see all the game maker games ever made.
don't bother with the ones that have a rating under 3/6 though, they suck. wink.gif

I posted a few screens of my GM projects, but if your new NEVER start out with RPG's you'll just find it too hard. Start off with Platformers and then work your way up.

"Game Maker 7 PRO FTW!!"

If you're looking for examples of Game Maker games, my absolute favourites are Wubly, Seiklus and Hang On To Your Ghoulies!. There's also a platform game made out of 16x16 tiles called Jumper. It started a fad. There were so many Jumper clones back then! I feel old sad.gif

I can't get the download to work :\

This is most likely considered spam and yes, we're all very aware. We have threads about it as well... the day 8 was released.

The hell? "attack of the saiyanjins"? Pick one language or the other (preferably English); don't try to fuse both into some new word.

Or maybe the folks on Saiya are what they call "people persons"?
darkyoshi
That has nothing to do with the topic and would be better suited in PM. The message you quoted is also 2 years old.
