First off, this is a new team project which has already been in progress for approx 2 months. This thread
will be added to as the game continues into development. Ideas are constantly changing (for the better)
and it was discussed about making a trilogy of the "Mist's" series. Anyways, Mists of Naladia is expected
to be around the 5-6 hour mark in gameplay.
Edit: For some reason, AVG doesn't like it.....just download, its perfectly safe. DH.

Long ago, the world of Naladia was of three races, the Dragon-kin, the Mystics and the Humans. The Humans took up the majority of the world, ruling five of the Seven Kingdoms. The Mystic's were very intelligent and great mages and architects, making many of the buildings and structures for the other races, but they kept the best designs for themselves. The Dragon-kin, if you haven't already guessed by their name share a special bond with the dragons of Naladia, the Dragon-kin's population is very small and they fear that because of wars between the Seven Kingdoms they will soon die out, manny Dragon's have been imprisoned and forced to work as so called "War Machines" in the wars. The wars are a terrible and what used to be a large number of dragons, has dwindled to that of just five, each being cept prisoner by a certain Kingdom. The Dragon-kin wish to free these dragons before they pass on to the next life. So they sent one of their own, Virgil, to rescue the dragons. Virgil is, even though she doesn't know it, bonded to the last 5 dragons, if they die then she will also. So the Elders of the Dragon-kin tell her she must rescue them all.
Team: Darkhalo=Mapping,cbs,menu,storyline, RO re edits. Luneth=Storyline,spritework.
Jasmine the Sword Weilding Mystic Light Mage
Light Mages have the magics of Light, Earth, Water and Air

Aradin the Staff or Rod weilding Dragon-kin Dark Mage
Dark Mages have magics of Fire, Ice, Darkness and Thunder

Karlie the Wand Weilding Human Cleric
Clerics have Light and Earth magics as well as all of the healing magics.

Virgil the Lance weilding Dragon-kin Lancer
Virgil has Fire and Darkness magics.

Sly the Bow or Dagger weilding Human Thief
Sly has Thunder, Water and Ice magics.

Marcus the Blade Weilding Human Fighter
Marcus has Fire, Ice, Water, Wind and Earth magics.

About the title: Isn't it Mists of Naladia? Or is it meant to have that apostrophe "Mist's". It makes no sense - Mist has possession "of Naladia" or something? Ha ha, just pointing it out. It's also like that on the title screen. It's confusing to me because you usually put apostrophes there when it's like "My father's cellphone" putting a noun directly after it. "The computer's features"

Anyway if this is intentional be sure to tell me tongue.gif Otherwise the screenshots look pretty cool, maybe you guys should graduate from the Ragnarok battle sprites, though.

I'll be willing to test the beta version FULLY before it becomes released to the public~

"Pulls out dictionary" ...no seriously, we were planning on a trio of the Mist's Series, though whether that
happens I dont know. It will simply stay as Mist's of Naladia. As for a demo, we are looking at a 1-2 hour
one, and finally a finished game of 5 hours. Talking of the cute ROs, there will be animated RO npc's as
optional events throughout the game...I love em. Unlike most of the others, this will have a demo in 2-3
months. Wiz is nominated beta tester wink.gif thanks. (Demo & Game).

That was bugging me as well. I think it would be better to change it, because people are going to think it's a conventional error.

Hey, Luneth here, one of the team members. I've been sick for the past few days and am only just recovering now, I've ben going over some things, and I read your messages about the "Mist's" and not "Mists" issue.
I didn't really notice that there and I don't really care, but If more people are worried about it then I think we should change it, we'll just see what others say. If already started on working on on of the hidden characters, I had a nice Idea that will go very far and suffice once I finish it and submit it to Darkhalo.
We are aiming for a demo? I wasn't really sure about this but if we can manage it, I am sure that we'll try to get a demo out to you. It may take us a while but I am sure we will crack it.
Right now my soul duty is focusing on the second town and our first extra character which will be playable and also someone you must fight (if thats not revealing to much). Look forward to more screenshots i the future.

you could do this, Myst of Naladia, and or The mysts of naladia... but thats only if it really does give a lot of people the impression that its some spelling error. Well in my case im really stubborn and dont listen much to people, but thats just me haha. Either way, im really looking forward to play your demo when it comes out, i really like almost all the screenshots, i dont play rpgmaker XP games, neither i deal with the program, but your game looks it deserves a shot. peace

Thanks. ^. Finished quite a few maps now for the demo, adding more cutscenes right now and action
events with the RO sprites, (hopefully to add more story depth) which is proving time consuming.
All the characters are done, incl two secret ones. Will update as when. Bye.

Active Event.

The cliff tileset looks really awesome! What are "Active Events"?

Certain areas within the game will have "active events", which gives the player access to better weapons,
armour, items etc. The player is given a choice whether to accept the "active event" or decline it, but is
given only one chance. Save points will be void in such areas. In such cases, the player may be given
good intentioned info for a price, or lose a valuble item, or gain something instantly. They have no affect
on the stories outcome. I chose the battle screen for the messaging/animation of the characters.

I like many things you have in this game, the character info, elemental thingy, and the use of RagnaroK sprites, especially satan Morroc.

Okay, a short note to say that the 1 hour demo has been completed smile.gif It just needs beta testing,
which for one hour hopefully shouldn't take too long ! (Wiz wink.gif ). The game itself is well in progress
& thanks for the comps ^^ those that played the others.

Looks superb. Nothing bad at all (atleast imo).

One thing though. The Diego CMS had a bug in the bestiary I believe. I don't know if you got it fixed. Like nothing ever shows up and if it does, as soon as you leave the menu it goes away. Just was a side note.

Yeah, the menu has two outstanding bugs affecting bestiary and save file. Even though I'm trying to
resolve it, its looking very likely it will now be replaced with another animated menu such as FFX2. Ill
put up a screen or two on the new one. If I can upload the demo today, Ill do that.

^^Thanks smile.gif Well here's the demo (it had to be) today. Its approx one hour gameplay, and includes a
little more than I originally anticipated. Its a 50mb stand alone, so anyone can try it. The full game should
not exceed above 70mb. The full version should hopefully be out in spring. Feedback is welcome smile.gif

Just to say I've started playing it, and it's not so bad so far (although I'm still quite early on in the game at the moment). Just to tell you that you can save anywhere in the game, but there seems to be save points here and there.

^Lol, Im still undecided whether to include a "Save Anywhere" in the final game. So disregard them

Darkhalo! I've realized that I had never replied to your development thread. Apologies man.
Anyhow, I noticed that you're a big fan of Ragnarok Battlers. Hehe. I've seen your other games and I noticed this same pattern.
But what I would really like to comment on is your mapping. No, not the one with the tilesets but rather your peculiar way of using panoramas or backdrops as maps. It's very interesting indeed. Your panorama mapping has impressed me for quite a long time but I never really appreciated it, but now I am! =D. Also, I'm quite glad you optimized your script to the best of your knowledge even though you don't know RGSS(Or at least I think you don't). I'm really impressed darkhalo.
Now regarding the story. I can't really say it's cliched nor it's unique. However, it does spark some interest and makes me ask questions like: Who is this Virgil? Why her, and not other Dragon-kins? What was the long history between these 3 races? And many other things.
Finally, I'm really glad you are using Minkoff battlers that we had long ago developed! You might want to see the 300+ battlers that I had submitted for RRR for more enemy battlers. (Check in the resource thread). Oh! And it would be really nice if you turned more of your battlers into your Minkoff Battlers Thread. Unless of course, the animation is exclusive to your game in which case it is fine not to do so.

Those are my comments so far.
I'll try out your demo, after I'm done trying out the demo of "Healer." (looks really interesting)

On your first visit to the crystal room, you can only choose the first option....so transport. In the full game both options
come into effect when you have to revisit. thumbsup.gif

You saw a little more than was in the first upload !. As its all in progress Im uploading demo ending at that point...

Updates on MoN.
1 RO sprites all now animated in A Events.
2 Some Cut Scenes now using larger RO characters (As in screenshot)
3 Most if not all Spell animations replaced with custom ones.
4 Added scripts. 8 way movement by Homer.
New debugged demo uploaded.
First intro now added.

Belated.
@Jens. happy.gif I hate scripts. Always seem to get excited when adding them and bang, major game lag.
Will upload new battlers after the project.

Well luckily I have a different game so that I can copy and paste the version that works into the game file. Never had any problems before I got Vista. So if anyone knows why the one version does not work I would love to know.

Seems to be the appropriate place to put it. Here's a sunbeam fog I made from ccoa's tuition, I put into a recent
cut scene for the project. This was a 2nd effort tongue.gif

Mists of Naladia is now complete biggrin.gif finally. The d/l link is in the first post, where some may have noticed a different
new Title screen. Infact there are some big changes compared to the early demo version. File size is approx 62 mbs
which is smaller than I anticipated. Some feedback is welcome too. The Font file is wrapped up in the game file, so
you may need to install before playing. Its a stand Alone, so don't worry about RTPs. Enjoy wink.gif

Hey, I'm having trouble downloading it from MegaUpload. There's no actual download link, just information about the game, and the page is "loaded, but with errors".
