I just downloaded the game The Witch's House which requires RPG Maker VX RTP. I downloaded it and every time I try to open the game it would open with an error that says "RGSS2 player has stopped working."

I've tried looking up for some solutions around the internet. I've tried redownloading both but that didn't work.

I've also tried changing the DEP settings as well as compatibility settings since I have Windows 7, and tried "running it as admin." So far nothing has worked.

I tried playing it on another PC on campus and it seemed to have worked fine. I've also tried making the RGSS2 player "safe" on my firewall

I would really love to play this game so any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

I've seen this myself with a few various games throughout the years, and I never did find a definite solution. The problem is, it could probably be related to a number of reasons: poor development design, script errors, compatability, incorrect dll, the list could go on.

Here's a few links to other forums that discusses similar issues (primarily with RGSS instead of RGSS2). You may be able to test some of these out with RGSS2 and see if it helps resolve your issues, but it's one of those things with random fixes that work for some but not all, so all we can really say is to try them out and hope for the best.
