Can anyone help me study for a test I have this thursday(yes I just got back to school today from christmas break and already have a test) Anyway the book we use in mississippi is a big red book with colorful fire on cover and the words Glencoe Science Chemistry Master and Change. We were on chapter 6 today so what I want to do is for whoever to send send me some questions related to ch.6 via post and I'll answer the question by sending the answer back via post. If the answer is wrong I'll try to figure out the answer again and if I get it wrong 2 times whoever has to send the correct answer to me.

... This isn't exactly the kind of place to ask something like this. Try ask.com?

Unless we have a chemistry expert here you need to realize you are on a game-making forum, dude.

Crap! I thought since this was a tavern I could get away with somthing like this. Sigh...And ive looked on ask.com before in the past but I cant learn by reading all that junk. Oh and I really wasnt thinking of experts. Hmm. (maby if I made this simpler like into some kind of study game or somthing like that...)

I actually really love chemistry and passed the chemistry unit of my class last year w/ a 99 i think.

What level of chemistry is this though? Like HS grade 9, University year 2, etc.
Im pretty sure ur chapter would have review work at the end of it though, or like practise questions?.. ('^')/ (>o•)/

Edit: ..this book? http://hs.scsd1.com/lindsey.daniel/Chemistry/cmcff5-8.pdf
What specifically would u like to review/ study more about?
I live in Canada though and some of the stuff is written pretty differently.. Especially the electron arrangment.

Man you suck I have a F in chemistry and I'm normally good in science. 11th grade chemistry though I guess I was wrong about the text books being the same and I dont have a image of my text book on this ps vita. as for the last question well i'm lazy plain and simple. I also think it is boring to study all that stuff all by my self and I have no one to study with not even my parents. Plus I have no computer to use to study as its monitor s busted pretty bad. So now ya why I posted this eh? Tbough I think it would be better if I made up some sort of study game on this forum as that would be much funner and easier.

It's not that the kind of topic isn't allowed, it's just that it's just not practical to ask someone for school help on a gaming site.

At least you got someone who is willing to help, though.

I won't help you I have enough stuff to study myself, BUT I can give you some studying tips.

Since studying doesn't come naturally you need to set up an organized program.

1. Set up a schedule for studying. Obviously you can't just wait until the urge to study comes, you
may end up waiting until around exam time. So, it is important to set definite times for studying.
Check your various time obligations, like if you have a job and chore time, and find out when you
have free time to actually study. Also leave time for breaks, I find that studying for around 50
minutes with a ten minute breaks works best, but it might be different for you. It helps to write
down this time because seeing a written reminder usually increases your commitment to following
it. At the beginning of each week plan what work you want to do in each study session. That helps
to avoid cramming before a test. Oh, and if you have something big to work on break it down into small
tasks.

2. Find a place where you can concentrate on studying in. Where you study is important. Find a place
with no distractions. Don't rely on willpower to study through those distractions, it is much much easier
to just find a spot where there are no distractions. Actually, find two just in case.

3. Reward your studying. One reason why studying is so boring and hard is because the payoffs are
in the future. Long term awards, like graduating or getting a degree, are forever away. Even the short
term rewards, like getting an A, are still weeks or months away. To counteract this problem, it helps
to give yourself immediate, tangible rewards, like a snack, tv show, phone call to a friend, etc. The
systematic manipulation of rewards involves the principles of behaviour modification, so it should
work pretty well.

Well, that's all the tips I have. I hope it helps.

LOL, well i actually forgot i took Gr.11 Chemistry too, so nvm, that was Gr.10 Science only. 'XDD And even still, only the chemistry part of the class-- i actually failed the light unit we had to study. : p (i think i got an 'R', which is an 'F' i think, lol.)

But perfecto, i havent taken Gr.12 Chemistry yet. :-) Just try to pay attention in class and do the homework; i never studied + ever asked help from my parents.

Anyway, here, i came up w/ some questions. Ch.6 is the periodic table? Hopefully these won't b too hard.. :

1) An element's atomic number is equivalent to the number of ____ it has.
2) Group 2 on the periodic table is called the _____.
3) Group 18 on the periodic table is called the _____.
5) Another name for a row on the periodic table is a _____.
6) What can be said about the electron arrangement of all elements in a group?
7) What kind of elements do block "p" and block "f" represent on the periodic table?
8) What causes the change in atomic radii size as you go down a period?
9) What happens to atomic radii size as you go down a group?
10) What is first ionization energy?

** i only did questions up to 6.3 so far.

(reply to tsutunai) yeah I know those guidelines buuuut...Oh fine...I guess I'll reluctantly follow them... sigh! Oh how I hate school!Problem though and that is that it is never quiet in my crappy house.

(reply to magical runeknight2001) Some of these questions do look hard though.
1) protons
2)alkaline earth metals
3)noble gases
5)period though I'm sure its wrong
6)hmmm. this ones tough! I'm not even sure if we went over this one. Hmmmm! I cant semm to figure this one out.
7)I know what the P and F blocks are but this was also something we didnt go over.
8) Hmm I quite sure I knew this one. wild guess. Does it have somthing to do with the size?
9)
This one I'm sure I know. It decreases. And if i'm wrong Then it is increase.
10)I am familiar with Ionization energy. So uhhhh...gosh I think I forgot!
yawwwwwn! okay Im takin a break now and am gonna play Mod nation:roadtrip Demo. And trust me I am worn out! I just got back home a few hours ago from a rehearsel.

I went through school but didn't get a degree and just going back in summer but thankfully it just my major's courses (oh it's gonna be fun studying to be a software engineer?) won't be anything new to me. (I come from a family of Farmers and Engineer's it was one or the other, grandpa made a a good fortune as a farmer and he lives comfortable, too bad about Alzheimer's though.. and my grandma having a bad back/having to look after where he is or went is killing her)

Past Chemistry with a 100, write notes and listen and ask for help is the best advice I can give. Hell, ask the Prof. if he'll help you, it's his bloody job after all!

you have a very interesting brief life story there. Oh and i'm really scatterbrained (its true) to forget to mention that i'm a second year junior in highschool. oh well. Professor and teacher are the same. Oh and trust me my chemistry teacher(female) is really horrible! Anyway to tell truth I used to do good in school without studying until I got to highschool. I'm sure ya understand. And things really changed when I failed english 3 .(yes I passed english 2 state test with flying colors but not english 3 So basically now I have a F in math as well as chem. (I normally good at science and math) Looks like I lost track of myself you told me a little aboutyourselfso I tell a litlle about me.
