So I have decided to use VX Ace, but before I go out and get this I need to be sure that I can do these things and if they are readily available to me.
First I need a different battle system. The top down, horizon battle system is dumb and I need anything else. My stipulations are that I can add my characters; the ones that I made using Ace. I also need to be able to make a enemy that looks like a human or is a human because that is my villain.
Second I need a crafting system. I have seen the advanced crafting system and I would like to use that. I just need an easy way or a very good explanation of how to add many recipes to the system.
Third is the ability to add multiple different tile sets. Before when I tried to add more then one it wouldn't let me or it would go over the previous that I added.
These are the problems I always run into when I tried to use other engines. I was told to use Ace, so before I jump into it I want to be sure that I can do these things so I don't spend countless hours only to be stopped because I can't make the game completely my own, or at least more then the average game.
Any suggestions would help, thank you for your time guys.

First I need a different battle system.
Well, of course turn based sucks. I would look for some of vlads, I recomend his latest. although not so good with compatability.
Second I need a crafting system.
There are some out there, Google it, I Would give you the name of mine but I have forgot. It's one from Monster Hunter.
Third is the ability to add multiple different tile sets.
Yes VXA approves this, it works like XP on the tile sets.

Your welcome, I know that seems like quite a bit of money and the trial (some say don't do justice) Its worth it in the end, it will give you years of happiness. I have spent so many years wasted away with this program (rpg maker in general) its not funny.
edit: Also if you don't like the Chibi style that comes with VXA offers some wide range of sprites if you use $spritename.

What do you mean use $spritename?

basically when if you make your sprites on separate sheets you can name them $sheet1 or whatever and it will allow you to use larger sprites. but if you use normal sized sprites but not chibi style, check out Holder's Final Fantasy Style Template.

Yanfly Engine Ace w/animated battlers or Victor Engine w/animated battlers would be really good for combat systems. (imo if you're going for animated battlers then yanfly's is better, but w/e.) and along with moghunter's battle GUI scripts the battles can look really good xD
btw the boondocks (Y)

It just works like when you import them you name them $spritename and they will be imported, for all sprites but RPG maker don't make anything "enemies" you decide that.If you decide to use Vlad's ABS then I can help you put enemies in the game.

I decided to use Victors engine with his active time battle. Could you help me with that? Also could you send me a link to somewhere that could explain how to add new and different enemies. Or if you could shoot me an email that would be great as well.
I didn't use the vlad engine because it wasn't showing up on the forum. If you could send me a link of some screenshots I could consider changing it if it is still better then the original.....what am I saying anything is better.
I also couldn't find a crafting system for Ace. I did find one but if someone on here as a suggestions that would be a great help.
Thank you again for all of your help guys.

I only use Vlads ABS, and
Sapphire ABS but Sapphire dont have ranged weapons you have ot make them events.
Vlad's engine you will have to google, its super user fiendly I recomend that. The best ABS is for XP Blizz-ABS, you can find it's home at ChaosProject.. Google it, Its the best user friendly abs out there and I wouldl be happy to help you work with it if yuo wanted that.
Crafting system I'm using Most problems already happened so You can read down to find any issues.
I like helping

I just got Victor's working for me.
I know need resources. Sprites, faces, (for both enemy and hero) and tilesets.

The great thing about Victor's battle system is that it uses sprites for enemies and allies, for all battlers really. So you will only need one character for each person/enemy, instead of a battler and a sprite and a face set and so on. I've messed around with it a little bit and I understand it pretty well, so if you need any help, don't hesitate to ask. Just be sure to be specific with your questions, so I can offer the best solution.

as for your tileset's I would just use VX tilesets, or
The best tileset ever I use that tileset for EVERYTHING!

So VX tilesets work for Ace as well?
I put in Victors battle system and I understand for the most part and I know how to add battlers. The problem that I am having is that I don't have the sprites for all of the individual enemies. When I tried to use a sprite that was in the middle of the set it didn't work. I had to photoshop the picture and cut out the others. If there is a simpler way to add all of the enemies, also could someone send me some links of some places that I could download some more sprites?
Thanks for your help guys.

Sadly there isn't really an easier way, you will need to put every sprite on it's own sheet for this system. At least that is what I found I had to do. It is a bit of work, but as it's a really good system, I believe it is worth the effort.
As far as VX tilesets in ACE, yes you can use them, but I think Ace comes with the VX tilesets included already. I may be a bit off here though,

Almost brings a tear to my eye that I will have to photoshop all of those enemies but I will live.
One thing I wanted to ask to you wonderful people is if Advanced Crafting System (ACS) by cmpsr200 would work for Ace? I don't believe it will because it was made for RGS2 and not 3. If it doesn't work is there a way that I could request it be converted for 3, or should I just use the totori synthesis?
I like the ACS because I can download a program and create a massive recipe list.
Should I also install the Ace Menu Engine? Would it contribute?
Thanks again for answering my noob questions, I'm not much a scripter or programmer I just like to make stories and play games. My other friends won't spend the time (months of work) to sit down and create a game.
Is there any way that you can make a database in one game and then transfer that full database to another game?
