Weirdly I can't find simple modern light switch sprite anywhere

like this on and off sprite

I made one myself but I didn't like howit turned out

I had a similar problem when making a modern looking elevator door, what I ended up doing is shrinking the actual picture down and touching it up with a paint program, it ended up looking rather good in my opinion.

This was my final result, compared to modern maps and such you cannot even tell it doesn't belong.

Never thought of that, I'll just give it a try!
