Full Version: Suggestions for Event Tutorials

Hey there, RRR! I have recently made several tutorials, and I still have a small list of ideas I plan to run. That is all well and dandy, but instead of just making events that -I- think are cool, I would rather know what you, the community, thinks we should need.

I also consider this a test of my abilities, I am firmly convinced that just about anything can be done with events, aside from changing the battle system to something coherent. Well, who knows, maybe that is a possibility. So, post, RRR, tell me what you want to see. What events would you like to know how to create? What sort of challenge do you want to put me under? Test me, RRR.

You won't find me wanting. thumbsup.gif

edit: This is in no way a guarantee that I will be able to do what you request, there are no refunds or surchages. Taxes may be applied unless you live in New Hampshire, Wales or Middle Earth. Shaddowval's Events are not responsible for loss of limb, life or contracting of Rock Joint. If you bothered to read this entire edit section then I congratulate you, I would not have bothered myself. Do you think this was a big waste of time? It probably was, as I have not much to do and am very bored and a little hyper. I may have to stop typing now. Shaddowval is in no way associated with the NFL. NHL, NBA, or Little League Baseball.

Have you done a relationship system? Or an "imbuing system"?
Shaddow
I have not, adding relationship system to list. Hrm, by Imbuing do you mean like adding elements to weapons...or...what?

Efficiency is the key with the relationships system, but think about the relationships system in this way:
- How you interact with your party characters makes them like/dislike you more/less.
- Making good/evil actions in the game will influence the party characters positively/negatively depending on the character.
- If the party character leaves your party and becomes an enemy during the game, then your influence (how much that character likes/dislikes you) will affect their decisions/strength when fighting you, etc.

Just some ideas there. =]

Oh, and the imbuing is basically anything you like - so having it be flexible is key:
- Having the ability to attach magic or elements to an item (similar to how you would do that in Skyrim).
- Having the ability to increase the defence/attack/etc. of an "equippable" item/weapon/armour.
- Changing the element type of the item.
- Changing the status effects an item gives.
- Changing the durability of the item (where durability exists in a game).

Just some ideas for that one. =D

Useful information there. I should be able to do something with that. I'll get back to you when I have one of them finished.

How would one go about actually doing that without writing a full fledged script or making a hundred forms of one weapon
or using up variables for weapon stats.
ie. enhancement system with events?

Because last I saw, this was the event emporium and a thread for event tutorials.
I wasn't aware an event-based imbuing system was possible.

If at all possible I would definitely want in on the Imbuing / Enhancement system
Any help towards an event based one would be MUCH Appreciated.

I actually already wrote this tutorial a long time ago. You can find it here: http://www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index....showtopic=57664

You are correct, it requires a lot of work though.

Val, You're a freakin' Boss

I didn't realize this was from september lol.
I'm in class without my desktop, Tablets ftw
So I'll look at it later,
So Long as it doesn't need to many script or snippet calls,
I should be able to get it working in ACE.

Thanks again.
Shaddow
nope, I'm very nooby about scripting so everything I do is 100% events.
