Oh wow! The mix of char art and background skill is so rare to see! But do you ever color them?

Dude, you doing exactly what i am unable to do biggrin.gif I always awe on good detailed backgrounds! Also, if you want i can tell you relatively easy and fast way to color it!

- There is very easy way to do so. I have discovered this way trough years of trial and error. What you might want to do is to download Adobe Flash (You can download Adobe Flash Portable absolutely legally free)
- Import your sketch on default layer.
- Create another layer above your sketch's
- Block layer with your sketch (press padlock button)
- Use "line" tool to trace your sketch's contours. You can bend your line any way you want with "selection" tool. Also you can freely chose size of your line. If you need to change line's color, size ect. use "Ink Bottle" tool
- After finishing making contour, fill it with color. Flash's filling is MUCH MORE CONVINIENT than photoshop's
- Export image and finish it in photoshop or whatever

If you need shadows:
- Create a layer above layer with contour and filling
- Chose line tool again, set some contrast color (i using bright red or acid green) and make contours on shadows.
- Re-select that layer so all contours you made shall be highlighted. Copy it.
- Past it in layer with main pocture (NOT sketch)
- Select last layer again and press "delete"
- Fill shadows
- To delete shadow's contours, just click on 'em twice and press "delete" button

Voila

Try it. It is much easier, funnier and faster than your coloring. I am turning my sketches in pics for maximim of 2 hours

And keep drawing! You're good at it!

Whoaa...that's a very detailed explanation, I'll download the adobe flash right way. But it still gonna take times for me to be able to master it.
And since I'm not good at coloring, I think it'll be alot harder for me to try than what you said about 'easy' xD
Thank you for your appreciation, the adobe flash will be on my download queue list~
And..I'm saving this page since I gotta need the info you thought me~

I'm sorry for that...I think I'm only good in pencils, or maybe it'll improve if I get my own Intuos smile.gif
Outlining in black? WIll it looks better?
Lato

I say outline in black cause if you could do that then someone else could just bucket fill your pic to give them color and life. It would make a big difference as far as in game use.

Is there no end to the incredibly talented artists on RRR? Yet another person who's art is simply amazing.

As far as outlining in black, there is a pretty easy way to do that with paint.net or other programs, you can actually find some neat tutorials on it on youtube, just look up line-art tutorial. It won't really ruin your pictures, just gives them a more definitive outline and tends to look good. also makes it a lot easier to color them, if you choose to.

Even if you don't do that, I'm still quite in awe of your work, it's just....incredible. (Also is that Yoh Asakura in the picture near the tree?)

I actually tried that, but umm...not all the lines can be outlined, since it's pencil, and there's always a line which not connecting to the others, meaning that I simply have to redraw them or using a darker drawing tool, such as ink/ pen~
But I'll give it another try, it's hard if it gets so many details sad.gif

Well, there are so many talented people out there, just like you smile.gif

For outlining, eh, I actually following your steps. And currently downloading some tutorials from youtube. I'm not sure if it's work with an art using so many detailed BGs. If I still can't outline them well, I think I better give up and let someone capable doing that in my place.
Naah, not that latest Shaman King contest winner, it's actually a character that my friend asked to draw, so I drew him this ^^

I can never coloring an art since I'm suck at it biggrin.gif Well, I just love tiny details, I'm planning to draw in an A2 Paper once I'm done with my project..
Thanks for your appreciation, I hope we both can improve better again ^^

Honestly... while the characters are impressive, especially the last woman, the backgrounds just outshine them. Very nice perspectives as well!

I'm curios, how do you go about drawing your backgrounds? Do you sketch an idea of them somewhere else?
