Yeah, it's been three years.

Three years of barely touching an RPG Maker program or chilling in the forums. A lot's changed since 2009.

For starters, we got a new RPG Maker!

Anyway, my interest in RPG Making has recently resurfaced - I'm working on a project that you will probably hear little about until it's close to completion. In the past, I used to create projects then project threads, only to have the project die due to me losing interest in it. It sucked. xD

So, what's up RPG RPG Revolution?

Welcome back to RRR! =]

Yes, a new Maker has arrived, you should check it out. =D

Already downloaded the trial. I'm a little reluctant to drop $90 on what is essentially an expansion pack for RMVX, which was $60...

We'll see. I'll have to make my choice by the end of the month then, haha.

Yeah, if you don't decide you like it better than VX by the end of the month, then stick with VX. XD
I prefer XP, so I haven't been bothered for anything in a while. tongue.gif
(I don't make games any more either...)

Play around with it and decide. Keep in mind, while VX can do a lot that Ace can with scripts, Ace comes ready out of the box with a ton of defaults great for new designers.

1. It has way more resources. The amount of resources, and the quality, is pretty top-notch, which makes the $30 jump worth it for that.
2. Missing features have been added back in. Unlimited tilesets and passability, for example. While you can't alter the size of the tileset like in XP where you merged tilesets together, you can have 5 different A-E sets for each map.
3. New features aplenty, including being able to create your own battle formula.
4. Tons of scripts. It hasn't even been out for a full 6 months, and there's already a crapload of scripts for it.

I really love it so far. The additions are very much welcomed; I might go ahead and buy it. At the very least, I'll get someone to buy it for me. xD
