Full Version: TV Discussion Topic

Okay so I've finally noticed what's missing here and that's the bulk of separate media forums. Got something to show here that's a little TV related but I don't think it'd be worth a single topic in it self. So a TV Discussion topic.

Looks like the good old classic ones biggrin.gif

All these years and the Cat's still looking sharp!
Did you see that bonus ep where they realise their characters on tv? It was pretty funny, especially when Lister was talking to his counterpart from Eastenders or Coronation Street or whatever soap he's in now.

Edit: Ah, did a little wiki-ing, apparently the bonus ep was later divided up and made intp 'Series IX', which seems a little silly since even divided theres only three eps.

He is Lloyd in Coronation Street- the only soap I watch. biggrin.gif

Oh dear lord yes!
How did I not know this was happening?!
This is great. I would have allowed a thread just for red dwarf (however a TV discussion topic is so much cooler).

At first I was worried because, ya know, they're older, but that does look like the classic episodes. Any trailer that genuinely makes me laugh is good.

That really surprised me, the age shows on all of them but The Cat is still sharp.

Dave the TV channel is probably the greatest thing ever, and this is the final proof I needed.
X-M-O
We don't get Dave in the U.S., but we do get some BBC in certain areas (have to pay cable company extra, if they provide the service at all).
I almost always see these television series the year they are released on DVD in the U.S. ><

I'm looking forward to the new series of the Thick of It.

I haven't watched much TV at all in the past... well, 3 years. tongue.gif

I recently watched a bit of 'House', but... s'bout it.

I went through a period of tv abstinence because 90% of it is just repeats and it just felt like a waste of time but I started getting back into it with the iplayers, and even then I'll usually only watch something I haven't seen before (this does not apply to movies happy.gif).
Truth is I'd still rather pick up a game or read a book if I wanted to unwind for a bit, the tv is terrifyingly passive (I've witnessed people not watch, but simply look at a tv...then again I've also watched someone look at a tv so perhaps I'm not one to judge)

I've never heard of Red Dwarf. There's something about the standard delivery and timing in British comedy that I don't like. I like The Mighty Boosh though, particularly this:

I don't watch TV; I watch Netflix and episodes on current shows online. South Park is my favorite show and I follow it religiously. I have watched it for 16 years and it still remains fresh. I also watch the Daily Show. I hate the admit it, but sometimes I watch 24 hour News, though I don't really have a choice because we have big TVs at my job that hang on the wall and blast FOX, CNN, MSNBC all day...ugh. Sometimes I watch FOX just because I think it's hilarious (in a depressing way). When I had cable I sometimes watched Discovery Health and Animal Planet for fun and followed America's Next Top Model and Law and Order SVU, but that show has really run out of ideas and most of the cast are quitting. It just wasn't really worth paying for.

i used to use Netflix quite a bit. But it's awful here, and i have to admit...
...it hasn't been the same since they got of Arthur.. lol. >D< It's sad; i still watch the cartoon sometimes w/ my mom, LOL. i rly like Buster...

Also, ikr, i agree w/ u about Law and Order. i think it used to be better before, but now a lot of the crimes seem repetitive and stuff. Plus, most of them are just about rape... i wouldnt be surprised if thats partially because of all the cop shows on TV, tho.

What! Red Dwarf is boss.
Also funny.

and let's not forget the drama that is Breaking Bad. (worth watching if you have not seen it)

Though one of my favorite comedies from this year would have to be:

FLYING AIDS!
Sparrowsmith
Breaking Bad is brilliant, I have to start watching that again (I left off on a cliffhanger mid series 3).

I also suddenly have a new found fear of the black plague...

Wrong place, this is for TV discussion. Advertisements are also only supposed to be linked via signature. I'm a little unsure exactly where to put this actually. If you're one of the writers it could go in writing critique, otherwise I don't know. It sounds pretty professional though, Audio might be the right place for this, but I could be wrong.
Like I said, if you're one of the writers, then Writing Critique would be the place to put it. Hope this helps. - Sparrowsmith
