Double-U Oh Double-U!
These are great and the quality is excellent!
If/when I do use your VX template, I'll be sure to credit + Redirect to you!
(You are seriously awesome Holder! Don't ever die! Drink the undying potion before any president <3 <3 <3 )... K bit overboard =S
X-M-O
Those beards are brilliant. XD
Imagine a game where there is no body, there is only a floating beard wandering around. =D
It's the perfect idea for a game! tongue.gif

Anyway, definitely a lot of work went into these, and thanks for submitting more amazing resources, Holder! happy.gif
MagitekElite
Brilliant work, Holder! I especially love the dwarven beards and the swimming template. smile.gif

Thanks for sharing with us! biggrin.gif

Just updated the main post, containing character sets for Meliadul and also a little bonus for the generator of his clothing.

Enjoy smile.gif

kayden XD Cheers, I got a bit stumped on the downed sprites but I had fun doing the swimming and running ones.

X-M-O Cheers smile.gif they take some time alright, having to learn and stick to a whole new style again but this time not bringing over any habbits has been tough but I hope I've got there.

Magitek Hey nice to see you smile.gif Hope you're able to put them to good use.

For those following my twitter would have heard that I wasn't quite finished with this set of matching resources, I had to do a few tweaks but it's now finished and here's the portraits for Meliadul. -Think that's everything yous'd need to be able to use him fully smile.gif

Full colour selection within the main post.
(Hope I was able to duplicate the RTP style, it's been really hard and thanks ever so much for the advice I've been given on doing these.)
The Law G14
Whoa! This all looks amazing Holder, I really like that bust and its colored variations smile.gif
Holder
Cheers Law smile.gif I was surprised to find that he only previously had one colour variation since it was very popular battler.
kayden997
Great work on the portrait Holder. You have certainty put a lot of effort into it and it look great because of it.
What are you working on next?

New update: Adela-

Thanks to everyone who made their own version and I thought it best that I do a version, which in all honesty has helped me get to grips with Portraits a bit more now. Thanks also goes to Pentagon Buddy who’d helped me greatly with more understanding of the shadow technique used within the RTP.
X-M-O
Fantastic work! The shading is exceptionally well done and works with the RTP quite well. happy.gif

It was really a steep learning curve, hope I'm able to keep on going with it for more in the future. Cheers for the reply also, it's weird how I'm getting used to 'likes' as it seems still that not many members check out the topic and like the content over here.
X-M-O
Yeah, that like system is too awkward for me, lol. I assume if I used Facebook that I would understand what that's all about, but... no dice, as they say. XD

Anyway, I bet it was a steep learning curve (I typed that backwards, as "lurning cearve", at first for whatever reason, but all right, lol), as it isn't the typical Holder stuffs we get from you. wink.gif
It's great to see you moving outside of the battlers/sprites designing a bit more than you have in the past, though I still love your pixel work. happy.gif
markchapman10
I'm going to use your template, or attempt to use them, I don't hardly have the patience required to work on spriting. Thanks for making it!
Holder
I meant the likes which the IPB update has, I've never been a facebook person either. smile.gif Trying to get a 'set' as I know it can be frustrating for people who find a certain resource (example a battler) but can't then locate the other parts (face and or character).

Glad you like it Mark, I suppose if anything it's good for practice and you never know you may get into it smile.gif

Update concerning my Terms of use, Facesets now available and also a couple of matching female basses for the portrait generator.
Details below.

Well here it is, I spoke about this on my twitter recently and yeah I did most of the additional poses before actually finishing the walking animations.

I based this off (as you can see) the early Final Fantasy games, I find the smaller heads give a much better space for clothing without forcing the sprite over the 32x32 grid. I also referenced it in some of the down poses, as these tend to get requested quite a bit.

From working on this I actually found myself thinking back to my old XP ones and how similar they are, so I guess it's also new work based off old work.
http://www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index....showtopic=35379

I had a quick little go at creating some familiar characters with it and well, I was quite pleased at how I was able to get the clothing to match.

Now that this is done it's back to battlers, stay safe.
Yuu-Mon Musuedo
This is really good. I love the praying poses and the one with the hands on the hips and behind the heads. Makes me think: "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful." XD
Holder
Ah cheers Yuu, I'm trying to do a couple of other things before getting back to battlers and figured I needed to do a nonRTP base.

Update:

kayden997
Great portrait Holder! I do wonder if you have a tutorial on the art style the portraits use in VXA? Or any tutorials? Urg, so jealous...
Holder
Cheers kayden, I don't unfortunately I did have a lot of trouble with things like the shadow colours and line art. There is some out there for VX style which I followed until I learned that there were quite some differences between the two.
Here's a couple:

I started using this template, and honestly, it is genius. I find it so much easier to make sprites using this, compared to standard VX sprites. It is a great thing, thank you for that! I was able to slightly modify it to make children sprites too, but I don't know if they look good, is there a chance of you producing a child version of this in the future?

Anyway, the main thing I wanted to say was, thank you. This was a really great template.
Holder
Thank you smile.gif
I'll certainly try to include a child sprite as soon as I can. I'd love to see some of your charactersets you've made with it.
