The train going through the tunnel moved faster than normal. All passengers had no idea of what had just taken place. Yet Gabriel watched them all from the front of the car. This car out of all others was to be picked for the Afterlife games. The reaper didn't know whether to be sorry for this group or to be excited about being able to run the games for once.
The train now moved through a dark tunnel. This meant Citadel City was near and that now would be his time to start the briefings. His materialization out of nowhere didn't seem to have an effect on the busy passengers at all. He took the appearance of a young boy in a black cloak with white hair and red eyes; the same albino appearance he had when he was alive. *ahem* The gray reaper cleared his throat.
"Good evening passengers." he spoke calmly. "I am Gabriel and I am here to welcome you all to Citadel City before we reach our stop."
"What on earth are you rambling on about?" yawned a young woman sitting in seat 8. "Is this the wrong train?"
"Like I don't even, like, know what this kid is talking about either." another young woman from seat seven spoke.
"That voice sounds familiar..." went the blind male from seat 10.
"You are all a part of the Afterlife games." said Gabriel.
You're forgetting something sir! Show them what's happened sir! came a bubbly voice from his thin black earpiece. Gabriel could always count on advice from his assistant. "It's much easier if I just show you all." Gabriel spoke switching on a monitor conveniently stationed on a wall of the train.
The monitor flashed to news footage. A few heads turned to watch. The broadcast was loud.
QUOTE
This is Tiffany Williams with a mind numbing news bulletin. Right now I'm standing in front of the station outside the city where the train crash that occurred earlier this day is still recovering victims of the tragedy. So far there has been no survivors from what I can tell. More victims recovered from this terrible incident have been discovered to be the bodies of Elanora Jameson, Fae Cantigre, Clarissa Montague, Matthew Jameson, Sachiko Hayashi, Marcus Giles, Thomas Marx, Joe Brody, Ms. Mavin Davis, Stella Marx, twins Allen and Thomas Rhodes, the beloved Fabian Gestalt, Tia Wang, Romeo Willis, Jackie Hayes, Damien Peers and a Ms. Rita Thompson.
Yet insiders say there are still a lot more to be recovered.
"Yo what the hell is this shit?" A scruffy young man in seat 11 shouted. "Is this some sort of joke?"
The monitor footage cut to weeping family members and friends. "So are we like, dead or something, like that?" the female in seat seven asked once more.
"Please stay calm everyone." Gabriel advised. "No one is dead yet. Your chance to gain your normal lives back lies here in Citadel City."
The train emerged from it's dark tunnel and onto tracks leading to an island of sorts. A large city could be seen with a tower in the center that sits high in the sky. The ominous environment seemed to be tinted with the color red. For those who knew no better, this city looked like a picture of an apocalyptic worn place.
"Now are there any questions before I head on to the next subject?" Gabriel asked politely.
"당신이 무슨 말을하는거야?" spoke a little Korean girl as the train got closer and closer the the wretched island.

The young girl sitting in the fifth seat, Sachiko Hayashi had been busy listening to her music, the headset only emitting a few low hums to everyone but her. While listening to her music, she planned up her next schemes...Or at least tried to...Despite the fact she was as focused in this as she was managing to be, her mind was drawing nothing but blanks upon blanks upon blan- She snapped out of it when something else called her attention, the fact everyone now seemed to be talking to some boy that was standing up in the middle of the car. She let out a short confused 'eh?' as she pulled off her headphones, only listening as everyone lashed back at Gabriel. She slowly put away the headphones and put them inside of her school uniform's coat. <What's with this idiot...Making a scene and standing up in front of the car like that...Uh...I wonder, if the car suddenly stopped or something, he'd probably be jolted forward against the windows. That'd be bad, I guess.> She, once again, was pulled off her thoughts when the monitor was switched to the news podcast. Sachiko just stood there, staring at the screen with her tired green globes.
She simply put her arms around herself slightly, in a somewhat protective manner, awfully confused by what was happening and not really sure of what to say. While everyone was either getting angry or shooting questions at Gabriel, she merely stood there in her spot, she seemed to be about to say something herself, but it came off mostly as a mumble only she could hear. She glanced over at the place they were approaching, gulping thin air as cold sweat ran down her head. <What the hell is all this, anyways...? Uh...Right, well, I guess that guy already explained that I died...Sort of...In a way...Kind of did and did not...Because if I died, I guess I wouldn't be here, thinking abou- Gah!> She scratched her head a bit, letting out a short disappointed sigh.
<Well...He did say that we're gonna have a chance to get our normal lives back...Through this games, probably...Which is probably good, since i'm good at games! Well...Visual novels, I guess those are considered games, right? Myeh...But what if I lose? I don't want to die...Well, that's pretty obvious...Although, now that I think about it, since everything is already this weird, maybe if I died, I could become a ghost...And then I could sneak into the boy's dressing room...Heheh...Wait...Why am I thinking of this? No! Dying is bad.> She remained silent, continuing her internal monologue.

Joe's phone gave off a beep as the train entered the tunnel. He reached into his pocket, pulling out the device, flipped it open to be greated by a text from one of his buddies.
"Stil going to casuals tonight? Can I possibly hitch a ride?" it read.
Joe shrugged in his seat before pressing buttons.
"Yeah no problems man," he sent back before flipping the phone closed. He was still in the middle of putting the phone back when some kid named Gabriel started blabbing.
"Oh geez. Not another one of these crazies," he thought. He turned his head the other way, pretending the kid didn't exist. His attention

Joe Brody
Joe nearly jumped out his seat at the mention of his name. It couldn't possibly be talking about him right? He was sitting in the train alive and well. Maybe some other Joe Brody? Yeah, that's it. That name is common enough.
"Is this some kind of joke?" he heard another passanger exclaim.
"Guess I'm not the only one. But, yeah, that sounds about right."Rather than sit through the charade Joe casually stood up to face this Gabriel person.
"Alright you got me," he announced almost as if putting on a show of his own. "So what's this for? You got Punked? Just for Scares? Cause this is some seriously messed up..."
The train emerged from the tunnels into ominous red sky.

Gabriel's calm expression remained on his face despite the many faces scowling at him in disbelief. He could easily kill off the hostile ones no problem, but he knew that he would be in trouble with The Almighty if he attempted to lay even one finger on someone. And so he kindly went on to the next subject. "You twelve are dead, however you all have a chance to regain life once more like it never happened. But this only happens if you require enough points in the competition. Naturally points can only be obtained by killing an opponent who will pass along half their total points onto you." Gabriel began as the train pulled into a rickety station.
"Oh dear. Oh my. This place doesn't seem sanitary at all!" cheeped the nurse sitting in seat six.
She was right. The sludge, rust and mold could be seen caked on crumbling buildings from a mile away.
Sir! The Angels are ready sir! Make sure to mention them sir! They are an important part of the games sir! chimed in Gabriel's assistant through his earpiece. "With that said you will all be going into Citadel City to fight each other to the death."
"What?" chimed in Tia, the panicking Korean child who understood nothing.
"우리는 죽음의 게임을하고 있습니다." replied Clarissa who sat in seat 8 and recognized the small girl's country of origin.
"오! 참 재밌군요!" the small girl replied excitedly.
Clarissa gave a sly smile before focusing her attention back on Gabriel. "Each person will be given an 'Angel Phone' which will grant each user a specific power and a partner to help them."
A beautiful male passenger stood in a calm collected manner. "Now, now, now. Do you know who I am? Not to fear fellow passengers." the pop idol Fabian Gestalt winked at a school aged girl in seat 5 before continuing. " I'm sure this is all just a celebrity prank! Why this is-"
"Some sort of sick tournament." the blind man finished.
"You will be given locations of food and water through your angel phones. This is required as you are all still need nourishment to eat to survive despite death. You may also contact each other through message during the course of the games." Gabriel continued. "You will need to eat, drink and find shelter within Citadel, a nearly empty city."
"Like, what happens, like, if you lose your phone?" Luci from seat 7 asked.
"Then you're screwed." the rugged man from seat 11 replied.
"So we have to like, always like have our phone and stuff? Can we like just order food from our phone? Like delivery?" Luci added.
The doors of the train opened. "A full set of rules on the games will be waiting in the systems of your Afterlife phones." Gabriel spoke. "Along with your angels. Each person should choose wisely. With each angel comes a set of unique powers. It's first come first serve."
Clarissa was the first out of the train, seeing the phones spread out on a rickety wooden table in the train station. "Aye! Come back!" Romeo from seat 11 headed out after her as did the rest of the passengers from seats 7-12.
Now all that were left were the remaining six on the train who had to choose which phone belonged to them while the others explored their choices in the station outside. Gabriel stood silently. "For those of you who still don't believe, you can't afford not to."
With that said a loud shot of a pistol could be heard and a few screams echoed outside of the train car as Marcus Giles' head had been completely blown off. He fell slowly to the ground as bits of skull, flesh and bone fell to the ground drenched in red blood. "That's ten points for me." Clarissa spoke as she ran towards the city slums holding a silvery wispy pistol in her hands.
Horrified screams echoed outside the train and in a flash all who were outside vanished into the post apocalyptic city ruins.
"Exhibit A." Gabriel nodded at the dead corpse bleeding out in from of the train car.
"Oh my that's certainly not sanitary!" Fae the nurse squeeked as she stood from seat six, making sure not to get the corpse's blood on her nurse slippers as she exited the train car to take a pick of the remaining angel phones.

Sachiko was just lost in her own thoughts, not really paying that much attention to what Gabriel was saying anymore. She had her arms still wrapped around herself protectively, her head slowly taking in everything that was being told to her, most especifically, the part where she would have to actually kill the others to make her way out of here...She whimpered some in response, not really knowing how was she going to go about kiling someone...Or if she had the guts for it, on that matter. She was forcefully kicked out of her thoughts as the sound of a gun echoed outside. Without even stopping to think twice, Sachiko grabbed the first of the so said phones she saw and immediately ran to the city, seeking shelter in the abandoned buildings that surrounded her. After a few seconds of desperate running, Sachiko found herself somewhere in the slums, panting and gasping as she tried to recover her breath.
Just then it hit her that rushing off ahead like this alone probably wasn't the best idea...But then again...Was staying with the group safe at all? I mean, everyone in there would want to kill her now, for all she knew. Oh how freaking marvellous this situation was, having to fight for survival in the middle of this crazy wasteland...It didn't help that she was only a simple fifteen year old high-school girl...What could she possibly do? Heck, she wasn't even good looking like that other girl that was on the train so trying to seduce her way to victory was out of question...Gah! Why even think about an option like that?! But then again...What choice did she have? She was weak, short and had no experience in survival or combat whatsoever...Well, no practical experience, at least, but she had a feeling that knowing the weak spots of the creatures of Dragon's Dogma wasn't going to help her much in this situation. She sighed faintly, dropping her arms forward and bumping her head slightly against a nearby wall.
She slowly shifted her body around and then rested her back against said wall, slowly sliding down until she got into a sitting position. She was then reminded of the phone she had nabbed from that table earlier, she pulled it out of her uniform's pocket and, with trembling hands, started tapping at it randomly, hoping to get some sort of reaction from it. "Huh...How the heck do I use this thing, anyways? I'm so doomed..." She spoke to herself, dropping her head.

Joe was shocked to see the fresh corpse lieing outside the train. His hands shook. Never in his career had he ever gotten the shakes, for that would be a complete killer in the tournament gaming scene. This wasn't just regular old stress. He was feeling fear.
"Like hell I'm gonna put up with this!" he declared. Whether it was out of fear or not, Joe did something he would consider unlike him, walking straight up to the Gabriel kid and grabbing him by his shirt, yanking him upwards. "Alright kid! You'd better tell us how to get out of here, cause I'm not playing some messed up game for your twisted enjoyment!"

Day 1 [2:00pm]
Gabriel the ReaperGabriel hung in the air like a rag doll. For a split second his fingers twitched to react. Without an angel this man had no power to challenge him. Gabriel would of, could have killed him but he knew The Almighty enjoyed a game that dragged out, or an immensely bloody one. Why the game last week ended before any of the contestants could claim an angel. Gabriel stared at the man with and expression of dislike. He understood the rage and anger but did not wish to remain hanging in the air. He vanished in a cloud of thick black smoke and yet reappeared somewhere outside of the train car. "Why not channel all of that anger into the competition Mr. Brody. I'm sure you'd get very far with brutality like that."
Gabriel made sure to keep his distance and watched as the two siblings exited the train car and ran off into the distance with their angels. The pop idol Fabian began to pat Joe on the back. "Lets hurry. I'm sure this is nothing more than a celebrity prank and that this corpse is merely an actor."
Fabian stepped out of the train and into the environment. "Yes! This is a test for me, Fabian Gestalt to test my limits! Would you Joe like to join me in becoming a fellow reality star!"
His words sounded terribly scripted and his body posture was that of a cheesy cartoon character. The scene was almost enough to make Gabriel sick.
Luci Ferno & Tia Wang"Like...where the heck are we?" Luci spoke as she and the small child walked around a mass of abandoned buildings toward a bridge leading to an island.
"‚œ ‹‹„ ‹•„•˜€ •Š•„." Tia mumbled to herself before keeping an eye out.
"Like I'm, like seriously tired of running. Like my feet are hurting so bad." Luci whined.
"Food?" Tia asked pointing toward an abandoned diner on the other side of the worn street on which they ran.
"Oh! Thank GAWD!" Luci cheered after hearing the small girl point it out.
The two headed inside but only saw empty barstools and dusty seating all around. "Like you think there's like, any food in the back?"
"Xiao, ‚€ 그…€를 죽일Œš”? 이 —žŠ” •말 ”보ž…‹ˆ‹. 그…€Š” •말 ‹œ„Ÿšž…‹ˆ‹." Tia spoke to her Angel.
"Oh Tia! 그…€Š” ˜•œ ‹€ ‚Œž…‹ˆ‹. ‹‹이 žžˆ면 그…€Š” ‹른 ‚žŒ„ ˜ž€‹œ‚ ˆ˜žˆ‹. ‹‹€ ”‚œ˜를 Œ“–••‹ˆ‹." chimed the small girl's angel reply.
"Like, I don't see any food in the back." Luci's voice rang out from the back kitchen.
Small tia began to barricade the doors of the diner. "Hey! Like little Ting Ting what are you like, stop!" Luci spoke frustrated as she began undoing everything the small little girl had worked to build.
"Shelter." Tia spoke in a panic.
Luci stopped. "Oh. Little Ting Woo is smarter than she looks." Luci spoke realizing the girl's plan. "I should have known, like all asian people are smart."
"...Ting Woo?"Tia mumbled in reply as the two set up barricades in the empty diner to make it their hideout for now.
Fae Cantigre"Oh...Oh my goodness!....Oh my! Eep!"
The nurse fumbled around the city ruins. So many buildings were reduced to nothing but rubble. Some buildings stood tall but none of the buildings lacked terrible odor, crawly insects or grim, dirt, and mold. It was a nightmare for a woman who was used to cleanliness in every hour of her life. "I can barely breathe!" she gasped.
Oh shut it lady. the angel from her phone snapped.
You seem pretty fine for a woman who's competing in a deathmatch but a bit of dirt can make you flinch? Looks like we're not making in far in this competition. "Oh hush Rubbard." Fae snapped before seeing the figure of a small girl sitting against a wall.
"Oh! Oh my another player I don't know what to do."
Try an alliance lady. her angel snapped before she shut off her phone.
"Oh um, hi! Oh dear don't sit on the ground there it's
filthy!" Fae exclaimed as she slowly etched closer to the girl who's name was printed as Sachiko in the Database.
"Oh dear. This is such an exciting competition is it not?" The disgust of her surroundings couldn't leave her facial expression even as she forced a smile. "Oh my name is Fae by the way."
The nurse noticed that the girl held her angel phone. "Oh? An angel which one did you get?"
Hey lady who said you could turn me off! her angel snapped as the screen of her phone flickered on.
"Oh hush Rubbard!"
Clarissa Montague & Romeo Willis"An alliance? Are you out of your mind?" Clarissa spoke as she walked across the eastern bridge. "Everyone will be trying to kill each other soon. You're lucky I don't blow your head off as well."
"Aye yo that's not cool yo. I'm just askin you to think about it!" Romeo replied following behind Clarissa on the East side bridge. "Aint nobody realize that 20 points x 12 people means over 200 points."
"Your point is?" Clarissa spoke holding her pistol tightly as she watched the road behind them before carrying on forward to cross.
"Yo can't you see? That's like 200 points for me an you to split! Yo we both could come back to life." Romeo explained.
"Yes, if you survive that long." Clarissa spoke calmly. "What are you powers anyway? My angel gave me this sweet number. I can only imagine the abilities I'll get once I stack more points."
"How do I know I can trust you baby girl. You ain't even all that powerful. Just a gun? Yo seriously that ain't even nothin compared to the magic power I got." Romeo spoke using his angel power to place a rune like marking upon the bridge.
"I'm not your 'baby' or 'girl' in the slightest." Clarissa spat back in disgust as she continued her walk over to Dead Man's Land. "Just be gone."
"Aye"
Romeo threw himself toward her with his arms held back as if readying an attack but in half of a second her pistol was out and she pulled the trigger multiple times before seeing the crumpled man's figure on the bridge. She swiftly turned and continued her walk over the bridge. "Ten more points for me." she chuckled.
"Bitch." Romeo gasped as he managed to slowly crawl away.

Sachiko had been busy trying to figure out the phone she had been given, after a moment of tapping away, she managed to get it turned on. Apparently her angel was someone who went by the name of "Cora"...Before Sachiko could question further, however, she heard Fae's voice, letting out a short yelp of panick, almost just hurling the phone over at Fae in reaction. Instead, however, Sachiko just pressed herself against the corner, chuckling nervously in response to Fae's words and holding the phone tightly in her hands. "H-h-hi...I'm...Sachiko..." She replied, her voice coming out mostly as a mumble more than anything. She'd gulp thin air a bit, she hadn't really gotten a good look at who was it that was shooting other people earlier, so she couldn't really trust anyone as of now...But then again...This woman seemed harmless enough, for her to be worrying over filthyness instead of the fact someone just had their brains spilled around a few moments ago.
"I...Don't know..." She then replied, in regards to the nurse's second question. She just stood there awkwardly, her baggy eyes slowly shifted down to the ground as she was just basically staring at Fae's feet, not really feeling like staring at the woman directly. Sachiko held her phone in front of herself, almost as if trying to shield herself away with it. "Wh-...What do you want?" The girl asked, barely managing to shift her green globes up to Fae's face for a moment before they fell back down.

"What the!" exclaimed Joe as Gabriel disapeared from his grip and reappeared outside the train. "How in the hell did you..." he continued before being interupted by Fabian.
"Lets hurry. I'm sure this is nothing more than a celebrity prank and that this corpse is merely an actor," Fabian said before stepping outside.
"How does that guy not notice the disappearing kid, the unearthly environment, or anything really?"
With no other options Joe reluctantly stepped outside, just in time to hear Fabian again.
"Yes! This is a test for me, Fabian Gestalt to test my limits! Would you Joe like to join me in becoming a fellow reality star!"
Joe couldn't help, but chuckle at the guy. "Well at the very least I'll be entertained.
"I don't know about stardom, but yeah, I'll join your team Fabian," Joe replied as he made his way to the wooden table where the remaining angel phones lay."Hey Gabriel. There isn't anything in the rules saying that I can't look at all the features on these things before I start here?" He walked up to the closest one, tapping the Powers icon on the screen, reading the text that appeared.

Fae Cantigre
"Wh-...What do you want?"
"Oh dear." The question caught Fae off guard.
She didn't really know why she was bothering this young girl. Psst! her phone whispered. "Oh! I was figuring strength comes in numbers really. I'm not so good at all this competition mumbo jumbo-oh my dear do you have a terrible case of Periorbital puffiness!"
Before her angel could respond she clicked the phone off forcefully. "But anyway I just think I'd do better with someone else than on my own really."
For a brief second she stood in an awkward silence. A scream echoed out from somewhere in the distance of the city. It was female and it sounded as if she were in a lot of trouble. "Oh we must get moving. There's just no way I can stay here in this filth- EEP!"
One of the train citizens she recognized as the scruffy man came stumbling their way. He bled openly and seemed to be in a lot of pain. Bullet wounds in the lower torso, arms, and left thigh were gushing continuously. He caught the gaze of the nurse. "The hell are you lookin at lady! Get in my way and I'll kill you too!"
"Oh my." Fae gasped as she flicked both her wrists.
What happened next was a complete transformation of the woman's arms which had, in a flash of bright light, changed from delicate and dainty flesh to silvery shimmering razor sharp blades. "Oh! I'm so sorry." she said suddenly turning to Sachiko. "Would you like to be the one to finish the job on this one? I'd rather not get blood all over my good shoes."
"Woah aye Ladies I could help ya yaknow. I've already taken down another player who tried to off me don't make me kill you too." Romeo turned to Sachiko with a menacing stare. "Tell this bitch to back off."
Luci Ferno, Tia Wang, and Stella marx
"Wha?"
"Shhh!" Luci commanded. "Like you don't want people to know we're here. Like that was too close for comfort."
The small Korean child stood at a window of the barricaded diner. Luci followed her gaze and saw two other contestants just outside. Dude! That girl's wailing is totally gonna attract enemies man! her phone echoed.
"Omg like, really Chad, why do we have to do all the hard stuff." Luci sighed as she began moving the stools blocking the diner doors.
"Stay!" she commanded to the little Korean child.
"난 개가 아니에요!”!" said the little girl.
Luci slowly walked over to the sobbing female contestant. "Um, like, yea."
The girl was sobbing over the body of a male whose front torso looked as if it had been cleanly blown off. "Was he like you're boyfriend or something?" Luci asked.
She got no response but a wail instead. It wasn't until she put a hand on the crying girls shoulder that the girl jumped away from the dead body and spun around with fire igniting at her fingertips. "Like don't be rude I was only trying to help!"
Dude she can't hear you. Like you should totally check the datalog. She's deaf. her angel spoke.
Miss Stella would like to know if you are a friend or foe. the deaf girl's phone seemed as if it were going to speak for her.
"Um friend? I guess. Like I really just wanted her to like go cry somewhere else? Or like join us? I don't know. Just don't cry out here, it'll attract enemies and stuff." Luci explained.
Stella glanced at the text on her phone before resting herself and her powers. Miss Stella excepts your invitation on the understanding that you will help her avenge her brother.
"Like, whatever."
Gabriel and Fabian Gestalt
"Hey Gabriel. There isn't anything in the rules saying that I can't look at all the features on these things before I start is there?"
The boy looked at the man who had just assaulted him in shock and then at the bleeding corpse in front of him. "I believe it already has begun."
"Oh these things are so interesting! These little computer things are so lifelike. I can only imagine the millions that went into making this hidden camera show!" Fabian mumbled as he tinkered with his chosen phone.
Aw man not a disbeliever. Those die every time! Fabian's phone chimed in disgust.
"Oh boy the technology in these! I haven't seen such a thing since I played Agent max in Live or Die 3: Keep on Livin! Of course the movie was mostly CGI."
Really can't I opt out for another owner? asked Fabian's phone.
Gabriel gave one quick glance at Joe. "I doubt you'll last long with someone like that as backup." He smirked.
Sir! Sir! Oh Sir! It's already becoming a blood bath sir! The Almighty would like to see the first event take place sir!
"Okay Nanicci slow down. I'll be right there." Gabriel replied. "Send out the angel messages on my mark."

Joe frowned at Gabriel's comment.
"Thanks for that jerk," he thought as he continued pressing buttons. "No this one won't do," he sighed moving onto the next phone as Fabian continued to marvel his own.
After going back and forth through the phones he finally settle on one. Maru. That sleep ability seemed like one of the weaker ones, but with a little strategy to back it up, it could potentially be the most useful. He just needed some kind of lethal weapon to pair with it. The fact that the Angel was pleasant on the eyes was a small bonus.
Immediately he received mail from the Angel Phone.
"Guess she's not as pleasant on the ears," he muttered before opening up the Rules and Regulations page, carefully reading through. Most of the rules were things he had already figured out on his own based on the conversation of others, but, there were a few extra tidbits of information he thought were useful to know. Once finished with that, he proceeded to open up the Bio Database.
"Two dead already huh? Seems like this is going to be a short game." he turned over to Fabian who was still marveling the phone. "Guess we should head out there huh?" he suggested. "Might as well take it slow. No sense rushing into that warzone."

Sachiko had just read up on the message she received from her "angel", she then turned to Fae and blinked a few times, shocked at the girl's transformation before, after a moment of self-muttering, she replied. "I...Just checked my abilities and such...I don't really have anything that can be use to...To actually kill someone. Not directly at least...I guess..." She stated, looking at the man, who, according to the database, was called Romeo. "I have a question though...A-Answer it and I might not kill you." She'd state, attempting and probably failing at sounding menacing, tapping away at her phone and already getting the invisibility skill ready, just in case. "D-Do you know where that other woman is? Fabian Gestalt
"You're right. Letting the competition eliminate each other is a very good tactic actually." said Fabian. "There were no other famous people on board. They're probably saving me for last."
He took in a deep gulp of moist air. The scene before him was a dark sort of wasteland. A place that probably cost a ton
Oh man, this is my partner? His angel whined. I need someone who can take this seriously.
"Oh wow this thing speaks? How much of a budget does this competition cost?" said Fabian in awe. "Does yours talk back as well?"
Looking at Joe he managed to hear a scream from far away and began to think that they shouldn't remain in this same place for long. The girl with the pistol may be coming back for them, and he knew that she would not hesitate to kill them both.
Fae Cantigre & Romeo WIllis"Do I know her? Yo what the hell are you getting at?" Romeo stood for a second bleeding continuously before responding. "Yea I know that bitch. She's the reason I'm bleeding like a fountain."
"Oh my you've lost so much blood already. You should be dead by now from too much blood loss." Fae added. "I don't even know how you're still talking."
You seriously didn't read the rules? What too much filth for-"Hush Rubbard! I forgot killing someone required destroying the heart or brain." Fae snapped shutting off her phone forcefully once more. "Anyways Sachiko, what are you planning on doing with information on that dangerous woman? She blew that poor man's head to bits and clearly has no regard for germs."
"Whatever you all decide I can tell you where she is." Romeo winced at Sachiko a bit as he dug a finger in one of his wounds. "Hell I wouldn't mind getting my hands on that bitch myself. You can't possibly plan on taking her down without me"
He pulled out a small silvery orb with an appearance so wispy and white it barely looked solid enough to hold. The cheesy smile he gave to Sachiko looked forced but held a great ounce of truth.
GabrielSir! Sir! Gaddet's gone missing sir! "What? This early in the game? What was the cause Nanicci?" Gabriel asked into his headset.
He stood on the island containing God's tower silently watching the players upon the tower's large monitor. His competition had become a bit interesting. There's no sign of him anywhere.
He hasn't been reporting in at all. I've sent the other reapers to look out for him. No remains have been found so far. His headset boomed back.
"Guess I'll be doing the food drop sooner. Keep me posted Nanicci." said Gabriel.
Aye-aye sir! I'll send info to all of the angels sir!He pulled out a microphone, knowing that every player within this island would hear him. "Attention all players." He began searching the barren streets with his eyes. "I have before me two sacks of food, each full enough to properly feed one person. The first player to reach me will obtain the reward of nourishment. The second and third players to reach me will have to have a duel to see who gets the last sack. Your angels shall update you on the location."

<Maru: Tee-hee! Oh Master! Master! you've got a message from the reapers! There's a food drop going on at the Hospital district right in front of the giant white hospital building! Tee-hee! I think you should hurry fast and get there before someone snatches up all that yummy food! A hungry warrior won't last long on the battlefield! Whatever you do Maru will stand by her master's decision! >

<Cora: Such a damned situation we're in. I don't like the look of that guy. If you didn't have a weapon I would have demanded that you give me his head right then and there! And that weird chick, she looks just as dangerous. I'd keep her around until we can get more points and then we can rip her shiny little limbs off! There's also a food drop going on at the hospital in the hospital district. We could go invisible and sneak off there first and snatch that first sack of grub no problem. Decisions decisions. I say pick the bloodiest path.>

"Man, didn't he read the rules? thought Joe as he listened to Fabian's remarks. He didn't have time to reply as he heard the scream.
"Let's get away from here for now," he suggested as he moved into the city.
As the two exited the station they could hear Gabriel's voice boom across the city, giving details to the first task. Shortly afterwards, he received the message from his Angel phone. He winced at the voice. That laugh of hers was grating to the ears.
Joe looked back at his partner suspicously. This task was clearly designed for breaking alliances, and he didn't feel like getting stabbed in the back by one of his competetors. Luckily, Fabian seemed to not understand the whole scope of the task, at least for now.
"Well, we should hurry over to the hospital district. Figure out the rest of the details when we get there. Be on the look out for white buildings."
Joe continued down the street, walking at a relatively quick pace, stopping just before the end of the street to peer around the corner, checking for other players before moving on. All the while he kept tabs on the guy behind him, ever weary of the fact that something would sink into his teammates head.
"So you checked out what kind of powers you get with that thing yet?" he asked, pointing at Fabian's phone.

Sachiko just stood there for a bit, before she finally managed to speak up. "I think that...We ought to get rid of that girl, or at least figure out a way to avoid her...She's obviously the biggest threat so far." Sachiko would state, though her voice was still meekly and failing her as she spoke, she wasn't used to speaking to other people at all...Especially in a situation like this...As she was about to open her mouth to say something else, she was interrupted by Gabriel's announcement, followed by the message on her phone. She gulped thin air. <Oh man...This "angel" thing is probably right...I can't trust any of these guys...But...> She shook her head, she couldn't be overthinking things. And for now, the ideal was for them to work in a group. Or try to, anyways. She spoke up. "Uhm...Let's go and try to claim both the sacks of food. We can share it amongst ourselves once we get it, mhm?" Sachiko would state, nodding in agreement with herself. "Uhm...If...You're okay with that plan, that is."

Day 1 [2:30pm]
GabrielOh sir! We have much more food in stock. Are you sure you wouldn't want to have more than a loaf of bread and a water bottle?"I think everything'll be alright Nanicci. The games rarely ever get past one day. Why give away fresh supplies?" Gabriel responded.
He stood in front of a very large white building, it's left and white wings were covered almost completely in mold and weeds, but it's white front was clearly visible. The building was very large and very noticeable. he held one sack of food in each hand with his arms stretched out as if he were on a cross. The expression on his face was anything but pleased. "Any updates on finding Gaddet?"
No sir! Not many of the other reapers have been reporting back sir! It seems like they're really into their work sir!"I'm sure if this was The Almighty's doing he'd tell us." mumbled Gabriel. "Keep me updated."
You got it Mr. Gabriel Sir!Fabian Gestalt"Well, we should hurry over to the hospital district. Figure out the rest of the details when we get there. Be on the look out for white buildings."
Fabian nodded at this phrase and followed the man named Joe out into the city. The sights were awing. He had to admit this surprise competition was so realistic. The sights, the smells, the artificial red tinted sky, it all was so imaginative. He surely wasn't going to be eliminated from the competition just yet. "So you checked out what kind of powers you get with that thing yet?"
"Um no actually." Fabian responded.
He took out his phone to check. "Doppelganger?" He said as he read the description. "They've even managed to get stunt doubles for me? Oh this must be big budgeted!"
You should just destroy yourself. I've already abandoned any hope of winning this thing with you as my partner. his angel phone mumbled even more as Fabian tucked it in his pocket safely. "No matter we shall press on! Oh? Is that the hospital?" He pointed to a rather large white building slowly becoming visible with each step. "We should hurry before-" He was cut off as a small child raced past them both as fast as her little legs could carry her.
"‚œ 보—š”!" She excitedly shrieked in joy speeding up as she ran for the first free food sack.
"Not so fast!" Fabian shrieked as he ran after the child toward the large white building.
Fae Cantigre & Romeo Willis"Well look at you. On the outside she looks a little wimpy but it seems like she's got a plan of her own." Romeo smiled while picking at his bullet wounds. "Ya know after a while of bleeding it doesn't really hurt any more."
"Oh yes I like that plan very much -Oh my please don't dig that out with such dirty hands!" said Fae who was a bit alarmed to watch a man digging orbs out from bleeding wounds. "Well then. with my powers I'm sure I could help, but it seems like he'll need some medical attention."
"Seems? Bitch Can you not see?" Romeo chuckled.
Be nice and use proper language when speaking to a woman sir Romeo. Remember it was a LADY who put you in the sorry state you're in. His phone chirped.
"Tch, whatever Karen."
"Oh dear Sachiko, would you like me to stay here and wait for your return? He clearly needs medical attention. A wounded partner will do us no good." said Fae who luckily had her emergency medical kit on hand just as any nurse should. "I'm pretty sure you could handle the food drop yourself what with invisibility and all."
Looks like someone picked something up from the database after all. went her phone.
Fae flicked her wrists and her arms returned to their small frail selves. "We should hurry and make the decision. Oh my, it'd be such a disaster if someone got there first. I'd do it myself but I'm not a youthful teenage girl."
Time was running out fast and a decision needed to be made.

"So you can clone yourself?" asked Joe just as the Joe little girl raced past them. Luckily, Fabian reacted faster than he did, immediately running after her. Joe took chase seconds later.
"I could just make that girl drowsy enough so that she can't keep running," thought Joe as he ran. He held up his arm as if to point towards the girl, hoping that would just supernaturally activate his power. But, something clicked in his mind and he stopped. Something wasn't right. What was one of their competitors doing just running past them? She could have attacked from behind, or more sensibly followed a different street to race undetected. Was this some kind of ploy, or tactic? He they got ambushed now, he might be in serious trouble, especially not while ignorant of the cooldown time of his ability or whether it had one. Gaming instincts certainly told him that such an ability would have a limited number of uses per unit time.
Joe took another quick look through the surroundings before coming to a decision. He saw no other players directly near them, so he pulled the trigger. Just like in fighting games, he didn't have time to be second guessing himself.
"Sorry little girl. But, your going to have to take a quick nap."

The young scared girl let out a short 'uhm', her arms wrapped around herself protectively as she seemed to be in thought. "I...I guess i'll go..." She stated, taking a deep breath as a voice deep in the depths of her head told her not to, but she ended up heading off anyways. She quickly went to check on her one skill, the invisibilty one, to be actually aware of what she could and could not do with it. She would arrive there just in time to see Joe, Fabian and some little girl rushing over to the hospital. Upon noticing that Joe was pointing his arm towards the girl and what not, and by Fabian's words, she guessed that they were not all on the same side. Sachiko took a deep breath. Her invisibilty could only keep her hidden away for eighty seconds and it had a twenty seconds cooldown, not to mention, she was guessing the others would probably still be able to hear her or bump into her if she got too close.
A plan slowly formed in her head, against her better judgment. She slowly reached down to the ground and grabbed the first thing she found that could properly be thrown, with the intent of just causing noise for now, a simple rock would do. She rushed after Joe and Fabian and immediately threw the rock over at their general direction, as soon as it landed, she would activate her invisibilty and attempt to rush right beside them, hoping that the noise would distract them for long enough to give her an advantage.

Joe had finished making the girl in front drowsy in time to see the rock fly past his face. Panicked that he was under attack he looked in the direction where the rock came from. No one there. That didn't ease his worries though as rocks don't sponataneously fly at people. Maybe some players was hiding somewhere using telekenitic powers, or even something else.
"Fabian!" he called out. "Book it! Get out of here!"

(I'm so sorry for the late post. Ran into internet problems that I just got fixed. >.<)
Fabian had just caught up with the small girl when she accidentally tripped and fell at the cause of Joe's power. "Like, hey! What do you think you're doing?" a girls' voice called out.
"Luci! Tia cried out."
"Fabian! Book it! Get out of here!"
"What?" Fabian asked turning around unsure of Joe's reasoning for panic. "But what about the food?"
"Like, you can have one sack of food as long as we get the other Luci offered jogging up towards the group. "Like, there's no point for us to be fighting in this game."
Fabian didn't know what to say end eye'd Joe. Maybe it was a good tactic to just run. Forget the food.
"Well?" Luci demanded an answer.
GabrielGabriel could hear them all. He stood just twenty meters away, holding a sack of nourishment in each hand while standing his arms out like an eagle. "Nanicci, what's going on?" he asked to his headset.
Well sir, it looks like they're going to try to strike a deal sir!."We'll see how that works out. Deals never work in the games. Only one game consisted of every player banding together and even they failed in their duties."
Oh my sir, wasn't that the time you participated in the games sir?He stood still listening to the voices echoing. If these people didn't hurry, they would all be moving targets. "Why thank you sir." a female player grabbed one sack from his right hand and opened it at once.
"A loaf of freaking bread and a bottle of water? What is this?!" she raged. "Take it or leave it." Gabriel responded.
She scoffed at him, turned heel and left swiftly, heading towards the crowd of voices. She held a silvery pistol in her right hand.
Tia Wang, Fabian Gestalt, Luci Ferno, Clarissa Montague"My my, don't run so soon." Clarissa spoke, creeping up just behind Joe Brody with her pistol aimed unsteadily at his midsection.
The small girl Tia stood at an instance and ran to her partner Luci with haste. If they were going into battle she would be ready. The girl with the gun spoke once more.
"I have a deal to make. I can't possibly eat too may carbs in one go so." Clarissa split pulled a loaf of bread out of her sack and broke off a small end piece of about four inches. "I'll give this piece to whoever decides to kill another player right here and right now."
Her eyes said it all. She was serious, and anyone could tell that if no action was made she would take out a few of them herself.

<Maru: Oh master this lady doesn't play nice at all does she? I wonder, could we all gang up on her? Tee-hee! Or would those two girls attack us? Oh boo and there's only one sack of food left! Yipes! >

<Cora: On you're a sneaky one alright. I'd suggest snapping their necks but the second sack of food is there for the taking. One day when your stronger we'll spill all of the blood those fools have to offer! >

Well, things went south rather quickly," Joe thought while his body remained still. He didn't want to provoke the girl with the gun pointed at him. He took everyone's moment of indecision to try and come up with a plan.
"Okay let's break it down.
We have public enemy number one pointing a gun at your back.
We have a player at here who no one else seems to know about.
We have two other players that could attempt to kill someone at any moment.
And we have my teammate who is thinking of booking it.
Fortunately for Joe public enemy number one, Clarrisa, had put herself in a disadvantagous spot by showing up when everyone was around. So long as no one paniced and followed her suggestion he could turn the tables.
"You sure you want to be doing that?" he spoke as confidently as he could, but to no one in paticular. "Who is going to leave themselves open for a chance at a fraction of the food when they could kill you and have all of it?" That one on the other hand was directed at Clarissa. "Not to mention there's another player hiding around here, just ready to reap the rewards of your work. I don't think you are in a position to be making demands."
All the while Joe looked on at his partner, his face scrunched up in a frown as if to say "you'd better not leave."

Sachiko would try to forget about the little ruckus going on behind her and simply focus on going to grab the second sack of food for now. Making use of the fact that she was still invisible...Or at least, she thought she was, the information on the ability did say 80 seconds so she should be fine, in theory. She would arrive on the place where Gabriel was, with the second sack of food and, after giving it a few moments for her ability to recharge from the cooldown, she would, unless interrupted by something, then walk up to him and try to claim the sack of food for herself.

Clarissa listened carefully to Joe's words. It took a moment before she cracked a smile. This guy could be dead right now. she thought.
"Well, do you honestly think this game will end with everyone singing kumbaya and holding hands? Real or fake I intend to survive." Clarissa raised her pistol slightly so that it was aimed at his forehead. She closed one eye. "Killing you would be easy. Four quick shots and you'd all be down for the count yaknow. I'm giving you a chance to live, and I doubt any of you have long range weapons to use against a gun."
She backed up a few feet but still held her weapon steadily. "And besides, Mr. Brody, who's to say I wont become a reaper at the last second and tear you all limb from limb? I do have the points."
A crack from her pistol broke through the silence that followed her words. The bullet traveled exactly two centimeters over the man's left ear, between the gap of Luci's arm and body and sank into the chest of the small Korean child who was struck dead upon impact. "I wasn't intending on firing until your remark. her lost life is yours to blame."
And with that Clarissa tossed a broken piece of bread at Joe and vanished quickly down a nearby street alley.
Gabriel
Upon seeing the schoolgirl appear before his eyes Gabriel said nothing. A moment of silence went on before he finally asked. "Well? Are you going to take it?" he nodded towards a sack of food held outright in his left hand before being updated by Nanicci once again.
Sir! Sir! Two more reapers have gone missing sir! Oh! And also sir The Almighty says that having demons in the game is not allowed sir! If there was a demon posing as a player I'd be extremely cautious sir!
The message from The Almighty had shaken him a bit. he thought he had smelled a whiff of a demon with one of the passengers. Maybe that scruffy man, or the ruthless girl with the gun. Someone was playing this game under false pretenses and if The Almighty was not happy about it then it surely was something to fear. Maybe this mysterious player was the one behind the reaper disappearance. "Copy that Nanicci. I'll report in as soon as this is finished. Be prepared for a time skip."

Joe clenched his fists, looking at the ground straight down in front of him. While the situation was diffused now, one of the players was killed in exchange for it. Not to mention the girl had thoroughly humiliated him in the process. Well no one shows up Joe Brody and gets away with it. Priority number one was no longer winning the game, but taking Clarissa Montague down.
He picked the piece of bread off the ground and tossed it over to the girl. In truth, he was tempted to eat it and guarantee that he lasts that much longer in the game but, that didn't sit well given the current situation.
"Not even enough to compensate for the life of your friend there. But, she died over it, so it seems only right that you take it," he stated before using his power to put her to "sleep."
He turned to Fabian. "C'mon. For all we know, we still have the other sack of food to claim," he said before breaking into a run.

She listened to what Gabriel said, since she couldn't hear who was talking on the other side, she just blinked a few times, confused. "What's a time skip...? O-Oh! Sorry, not important now." Luci FernoLuci awoke next to the deceased Korean child. The small girl's eyes were still wide in surprise. Luci closed them in a manner of respect and realised as she sat up that the girl's blood had managed to leak onto her as she slept. Not only did she now know the power of the male player who had used her but she also felt a slight bit of wonder.
He could have killed me right there. Both of them could have killed me too.She stood up and spotted the small piece of bread.
Did he give me this too? she thought.
The area seemed empty enough. She did not know how to feel over the death of a child whom she hardly knew for a few hours. All she felt was numb and a realization that this game was completely dangerous. She decided she would win no matter what and with that final thought she walked back to her home base in the diner a few blocks away towards the slums.
Fabian GestaltFabian was a bit skeptical. He had not seen a child shot before.
This has to be an act. Some sort of trick. he thought as he walked behind Joe. He was not willing to believe that such a terrible thing could actually happen in real life. Whoever set him up was certainly trying to scare him-and it was working.
"Since you've discarded our meal what else are we going to eat? I'm starved." he said to Joe.
He was used to being waited on hand and foot, and suddenly regretted ever stepping foot away from his hotel room. He'd kill for a nice steak and the attention of female onlookers at a five star restaurant. he was not one for reality shows. "Where can we even go now?"
Oh geeze. Get it together, this is a survival game you moron. his angel chimed back.
Fabian took out his phone and stared at the screen. "Hmmm. I wonder if I get to keep one of these when all of this is over..."
His angel sighed before perking up.
Hey! Hey! Looks like you survived the day! Really a surprise to me to be honest. The Reapers have given me mail saying that we've reached the midnight mark! That means a time skip!"Huh?" Fabian asked. "Do you get any of this?" he asked Joe.
He could see the red tinted sky instantly becoming darker and the weather becoming as cold as night. The climate was changing.
Oh boy. You're dead! Time doesn't work the same as it does in the human world. This is a place similar to purgatory. His angel phone said before it turned itself off out of frustration and dislike.
""Huh? Well that's weird. I guess we should find a good camping ground."
Day 2 12:00 am
GabrielGod's tower was not nearly as intimidating on the outside as it was on the inside. Gabriel stood in a knelt down position below the chair of the Almighty. It was not accustomed to stare at The Almighty, for he was not someone who took his role lightly. In Gabriel's opinion he was a bit brutal in his ways. "Reapers from the slums and from Bradbury Park have turned up missing." He reported. "I have reason to believe it has to do with an unknown force, probably a demon."
He kneeled in silence for minutes before he got a response. "Ah...." Boomed The Almighty's powerful voice. "Do whatever it takes to stop this."
"It shall be done."
Gabriel left the tower room and descended in it's elevator down to the exit. "Nanicci, can you send an extra message to the players?"
A cheerful voiced responded through his headset:
Yes sir! Right away sir! Ah, now what is it you want me to add sir?<Datalog updated>

"A piece of bread that size wouldn't have done much to satiate your hunger anyway," replied Joe as he walked up to a nearby office building. Though it took a bit of brute force, he managed to get the entrance open and soon the duo were inside, sheltered by the elements. "We'll be staying here for the night I suppose. Look for couches or anything that looks comfortable to lay down on and sleep. It would also be nice if we could find a makeshift weapon in here as well. We don't exactly have any abilities that can kill."
With that said, Joe proceeded to walk along one section of the building, pulling out his phone to review the details.
It had not been a paticularly good day for Joe. No food, minimal point gain. He was not going to get anywhere at this rate, let alone kill Clarissa. Tomorrow, he would need to get the food, and somehow amass 27 more points for his next power. And for that, he was going to need a plan.
"This is going to be one hell of an uphill climb."

Sachiko listened in closely to Cora's message, sighing some at the "angel's" constant enthusiasm about murder. What was up with that, anyways? So much for being a sort of guardian angel...But then again, if everyone but yourself is dead, I guess no one can harm you...Right? Sachiko snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the part about a demon in disguise among the players. The girl froze for a moment, it could very well be one of the two people that she promised to come back to with the food...And, if she came back, she still has nothing to defend herself with other than the invisibilty...And also...There wasn't much food to begin with.
Was she really this kind of person though? To just leave those two without food, lie and fool them like this? Sachiko stared down at the sack of food, whimpering some as she weighed out her options. If she didn't go back and neither of those two were the demon, she would've just made two new enemies...And forsaken two people to spend a night hungry...
"Oh fuck it..."
She took a deep breath and, with a heavy heart, opened up the sack and started munching down some of the food, not everything yet, she'd have to save it, in case it was necessary.

Fabian Gestalt Fabian walked through about two rooms in the worn down building Joe had insisted they stay. He found the tattered remains of what used to be a couch sitting up against the wall and plopped down on it. The windows of the building were broken, and the howling of the cold night wind could be heard whistling through. "Ugh a cold night and I'm not even sleepy." He said.
Realistically he did just skip about 10 hours ahead in the day at once. "So," He began "Who exactly do you think this demon person is?"
He'd asked Joe a bit of a no-brainer. In his mind the obvious choice was that merciless girl, Clarissa. After thing about it for a while he had began to scare himself at how realistic the situation seemed. Was this real? Was it a fake trick? Fabian's thoughts left him with more questions than answers and after a while he decided it would be easier just to go along with it.
"Maybe we could use this time to strategy? But there's not much you can do with our powers combined. At best we''re more suited to run away than fight head on." He paused in his speech for a moment. "Are you the demon?"
His muscles were tense, awaiting Joe's answer.
Fae & Romeo"Where the hell is she?!-agh!"
"Oh my. Stay still! The bandages will slip."
Fae had just gotten Romeo by the shoulders to help him walk. She'd managed to completely wrap his wounds in white bandages. However within a few minutes of dressing the wounds they were stained a blood red. "Yo, this girl better come back now!"
"Maybe she got killed?" Fae suggested hopefully.
"Bullshit! You know that's a lie! The only one whose dead was that asian chick. Shit I can't see a thing out here."
It was dark, and the wind blew cold. The two were headed towards an abandoned apartment complex nearby. "It has taken her a while- oh careful stand back a bit- You'd think she'd make it back by now." Fae said helping the wounded man up to the door of the apartment complex.
"Ugh." Romeo kicked in the door to a small, rundown looking apartment lobby.
They both hobbled him inside. Fae sat him down at the bottom of a row of stairs on the side and made sure to lock and barricade the door behind her. If she could last recall, there was a demon out there, waiting to kill off contestants. She was sure if this man were the demon he'd have killed her off ages ago, besides his attitude and general appearance there wasn't much need to fear him. "So what's our next move?" Romeo asked from the stairs.
"I'll keep watch by the window just in case she returns and we'll set up camp here." Fae replied. "This place is filthy! I could never relax unless I'm occupied."
There was a small moment of silence between them. "The little bitch! She's gone and ditched us!"
Hey! What have I told you about language regarding women? his angel phone said.
"The girl we trusted to get the food drop ditched us Karen."
That little bitch!"Hush! I see something outside..." Fae commanded.
She looked on. It certainly wasn't Sachiko. it was a black and odd shape and it hobbled about the streets. What was that on it's back? Wings? it looked like a disgusting creature. "Come on! We have to get up to an apartment." she whispered. "Oh dear I don't like this."
Damien Peers Damien hovered a good five feet above the ground. He slowly moved through the cold night air. He was no stranger to Afterlife and had participated once during his youth. Others had called him crazy when he returned to the human world. What made it worse was that his vision had been taken once he was brought back to life. It was a consequence for choosing the surprise Life option. He'd never fall for that trick again. Luckily for the games his site had returned to him and for the first time in several years he could see his more matured face.
He flew about chewing on an edible plant he'd found under the central bridge of Citadel City. He did not like these games, and unlike the first time he'd participated, there was much more violence and death in this game. He was staring out in front of him when he saw it drop from the sky. A black creature with wings it looked inhumane and with sharp teeth. Soon more came. Like a flock of birds raining from the skies.
Damn I forgot about that! He flew at a faster pace towards the hospital district. He'd have to take shelter quickly to survive.
"Agh!"
One of them bit clean into his arm and he tried desperately to shake it off. It was ugly. it was a flesh eating Imp, and it was not going to give up before it had it's meal. he punched it in the head and it fell. Damien flew yet faster toward the building when he spotted something. A girl? School age from the looks of it. It looked as though she were messing with something. A food sack? So this girl was brave enough to obtain the food. "Hey! get in! Get inside!" He shouted while pointing up at more of the creatures falling from the skies.
The night creatures were the worst part of the Afterlife games. And of all the creatures he hated the Imp creatures the most. In his last game he'd witnessed first hand how they mercilessly bit and tore off the flesh of a fellow player as if she were a piece of chicken. "Get from outside!" he shouted as a last warning to the girl before he headed for shelter inside of the Hospital.

Joe noticed Fabian's apprehension. The way he tensed up, how his usual demeanor changed.
"Are you suspecting me?" he asked as he took a few steps up to his partner. "I will say straight up that I'm not the demon. Problem is, I'd very likely say the same thing even if I was. There's no way for me to know if you are the demon either. Maybe you are just playing an act so that no one suspects you. The way I see it though, it doesn't matter if either of us are the demon. We need each other. Neither of us can outright kill another player by ourselves. So the only real option is to trust that the other is not a demon and continue playing the game as normal."
With that out of the way, Joe continued his seach around the room, eventually finding some tattered clothes hanging in a closet. Well Fabian had claimed the couch, so he could use these as a cushion between him and the hard floor. It wasn't optimal but, make do with what you have.
"As for strategizing, we really need something we can use as a weapon before he do that. Anything like a metal bat... scratch that, we likely won't find one of those here. Something more like a wrench or a crowbar, or anything that can be used as a blunt weapon. Otherwise the plan is to just run at the sign of trouble."

Sachiko was still debating with herself whether or not she should go back to her two "partners". But then again, it wasn't like it was any point into thinking about this anymore. She had already eaten more than a third of the food she had received and they obviously already knew that she had ditched them by now, probably. She sighed some, dropping her head as she slowly sank back into her thought world. She was immediately broken off it, however, as someone yelled out to her. She blinked a few times at the man that had called out to her and then pointed upwards. She slowly lifted her green globes to watch the horror show going on above her, she froze up for a bit. Her mouth breaking into a somewhat nervous smile and her face going pale. "...Sh-shit..." She simply stated, before she did the first thing that came to her, she held on tightly to the sack of food and rushed her way over to the hospital to take shelter in there as well. Using her invisibility ability to get there safely, just to be sure. She would only stop running once she had found herself a relatively safe place inside the hospital, preferrably without Damien, she'd drop herself against the wall again. Breathing heavily. <Ge-geesh...Been doing lots of running in this...Hah...This is karma for skipping Gym classes, I suppose...>

Damien Peers
He ripped a piece of cloth from his long black coat and tied it tightly around his bleeding wound. Damien had suffered far worse before. He was startled by the young girl who had managed to make it to the Hospital alive. He didn't speak to her, he didn't wish to, but he was surprised at her vanishing ability. He had studied it himself as he glanced back, gliding away. He should have known, the nights in the Afterlife Games were just as deadly as the days. Even if the players couldn't kill each other, the hideous demon creatures could. Any players who were outside and did not know this would be in severe danger. There were not alerts through angel phones, no announcements from reapers.
The hospital door banged loudly. The imps sensed food. He knew that a few would probably follow him here. He had the powers to defeat them, but he was unsure if he should let them in. If so they could go after the girl. Less competition for him, unless she were the hostile demon. He stared hard listening to the bangs against the front door. If he let them in he could see for himself if she were a demon, if not there would be less competition and hostility towards him, but his warning her would have meant nothing. It was a hard decision, but he finally decided to walk away and roam the hospital. There was probably much better medical supplies in here to treat his bite wound with.
Luci Ferno
"Like, what the hell?"
It took all of her might to run away from the black bat winged creatures flying overhead. Luci had managed to outrun them and beat a few of them off as they snapped at her flailing arms. "What the hell are these things?"
Just a demon babe chill. All you need to do is get back to the diner. her angel Chad replied smoothly. it was much smoother of a reply than she liked. "The diner! Like, shit!"
She bolted forward to the diner before rolling quickly to her right and taking off down another street. The diner was on fire at first glance. It glowed bright, with charred bodies of black creatures clearly visible. Maybe Stella fought them off? But there was no way she'd survive a fire that large. "Like wtf? This is totally cheating. We're supposed to have a rest period!"
Naw think of it as good cardio exercise. her phone chimed.
Luci was speechless and frustrated but continued to run until she found an office building and bolted through it's doors. She closed the door quickly behind he, locked it and slid down gasping for air. She took a bite of the bread piece she'd saved for Stella's portion. It would be wasted on the dead. She took bite after bite, and when she had no more her thirst grew. She stood once more and began searching the place. She could hear voices of men somewhere in the other rooms. She hesitated before tip toeing in the dark. If they were other players it was against the rules to harm her at this hour. If it were anything else, she'd have to brace herself for combat.
Fabian Gestalt
Fabian peeked up from the broken couch. His trust was blind but at this point he didn't care. There wasn't much in the room they could use as a weapon. Joe wanted to look for something they could use. He managed to sit up and feel around the place. It was dark and in some area's the building was pitch black. "What exactly are you expecting we find in here?" Fabian asked.
He grabbed a wooden board, but it was too flimsy and in the way to be considered a weapon. He took hold of a pipe, but it was rusted so badly that it would probably break with one use. The looks of the place made it look like some sort of old office building. He found a plastic chair with rusted leggings. "Maybe we could chair people to death?" He suggested as he held up the chair, thrusting it in the dark before smiling and putting it back down.
This isn't time for jokes. His phone spoke from his pocket.
"Whatever" he mumbled.
A room next to the one they stood was much less dark. There was a large crater in the ceiling that allowed the moonlight to shine through. A busted glass window was also clearly visible and it's shards reflected brightly in the moonlight. "I think I found some glass." he called to Joe.
He picked up a shard and spotted a small black shadow moving on the floor. He took a quick glance up through the crater in the ceiling once more before he began hearing noises in the room. It sounded like purring. "Joe are you playing a trick on me?" he asked.
The purring , when listening closely sounded more like a soft growl of something sickening.

"A tool box would be nice," replied Joe as he continued to scour the room for something. "There is likely one in here somewhere. Most buildings need the occasional DIY maintenance".He noticed the florescent lights in the ceiling after looking up for some ungodly reason. No weapons there. Well, there was that one movie where a guy was killed by a piece of the florescent tubing through the neck but, Joe wasn't sure if that was practical at all. Might not even work in real life. Just some movie magic nonsense.
Eventually he found a broom tucked away in the corner.
"Well that won't do either," he thought before being interrupted by Fabian.
"Joe are you playing a trick on me?"
That comment took him by suprise. He was about to respond with a simple "no" until he heard a sick growling in the room. Instinctively he grabbed the broom. Sure it wasn't the best weapon but, it will add some reach to his attacks. He slowly tip-toed his way towards Fabian's voice.
"Fabian," he called. "I don't think we are alone in here..."

Sachiko wasn't really sure of what to do right now...I mean, she knew there was someone else other than herself in that building right now and she coulnd't leave, because, if she did, those things would rip her to shreds. She sighed some, lowering her head against her knees as she tried to think up of something. "Well...First things first..." She needed some sort of weapon, anything that could be used in case of an emergency. She started searching around the ruined hospital, a shiver running down her spine as she heard the banging on the front door, maybe this place wasn't going to remain safe for too long...But at any rate, she kept on searching for anything that was hard and relatively light, even a brick would do.

GabrielThe gathering of reapers within Bradbury park was surprisingly small. Of the original ten only five remained, including Nanicci, who stayed hidden away within her own comm center at Gods Tower.
We've been waiting for for ages but Grossie and Marebel aren't reporting in sir! she chimed through his headset.
The situation was becoming dire and they could not wait anymore. He would have to accept that these were the remaining reapers of their group.
Gabriel, although aware of his childlike appearance spoke with harsh authority. "As you all may know, five reapers have gone missing since the beginning of the games. There's a small chance they have gone rogue, it's more likely they have befallen some other irregular tragedy." he paused only to watch silently as a group of black imp creatures scurried about past the group before continuing. "This could be due to the demon that has apparently entered the games disguised as a human. The almighty will not stand for this."
One of the female reapers with pink hair tied in two buns on either side of her head wore a look of disinterest. He was spewing facts they obviously were aware of already. "Our new objective until the next time-skip will be to weed out this demon on the hunt, or to find out if we have a reaper resistance on our hands. There will be no harming of players or interfering in their quarrels. You are to be a fly on the wall."
He took wireless earpieces from his jacket pocket and handed them out. "These are for communications with the comm operator Nanicci. She'll keep an eye on you and assist you."
That's right sirs and miss! I'll easily tell you if danger is afoot and you can check in with me at any time. I prefer regular check ins. Nanicci's voice boomed through the earpieces with her greeting.
"There will also be a pairings. You two," He pointed at two male reapers on his right, one who looked extremely feminine. "You'll patrol this side of the bridges. Be careful."
The two nodded before taking off and Gabriel didn't know if he should tell them of his suspicions of Clarissa. How her group reeked of death as they departed the train earlier. How she was the only one in the group who had raked in a bounty of points and how she could handle her pistol as if it were an extension of her arm. "And you two, will take the other side, there are plenty of players to keep watch over so be careful and keep in contact."
The girl with pink hair turned slowly toward the other remaining reaper. She looked about 21, 22 and her eyes were round and curious like an owls. Gabriel remembered she'd entered the games due to a terrorist bombing and became a reaper after the betrayal of her coworker who'd won the Afterlife games through deception. Her name was Lily. "I'll follow you." she spoke in a soft voice.
Have fun and be safe sirs and miss! chimed Nanicci through the headsets.
Fae CantigreFae had managed to wobble to a old apartment space that didn't have a window. She was relieved. It was the one part that didn't have gaping holes through walls, broken windows and an opening in the ceiling. It was also nicely furnished and relatively clean, as if someone were currently checked in. Romeo had laid across the bed. In spite of his pain he'd fallen asleep. She could hear noises outside the locked room. it was the ugly black creatures. "What are they?" she mumbled.
They did not look friendly or the least bit clean. They looked like aliens from a movie she'd seen not too long ago. "Rubbard. What are these creatures?" she asked her phone.
The man on her phone screen sighed.
Well obviously they're lethal. There's always some sort of creature that comes out at night. It helps speed up the game. "Why on earth would they want to speed it up? And how is the game gonna go faster?" Fae asked.
Can't you see? Geeze it's obvious the creatures are unleashed to kill more players. it makes the game interesting. Besides do you know how many people die each day? There's hundreds of games just like this one happening all over the world. "So that's why they don't warn us? It's entertainment? Why is this a game in the first place? I thought God was supposed to be kind and loving not barbaric."
Whoever said The Almighty was a great guy? He's tuned into every game at once. Omnipresence is a hell of a power.Fae went silent a bit but she was able to drink it all in. She was safe for now, but she was sure the other players weren't.
Damien PeersThe hospital was large, the corridors dark and the rooms above echoing. He could hear the imps that had entered the building through broken windows. They knew that fresh meat was in here somewhere and they were determined to bit into it once more. He'd found bandages within a first aid kit and managed to patch up the bite marks on his body. I eyes the various needled and chemicals sitting in drawers. They could be really deadly if used as a weapon. He pocketed a few needles just in case. The girl who had roamed the hospital walked by his room. He didn't know if he should speak to her or not. He walked out behind her. "Careful, they get in through broken windows." he said. "They like to eat so be careful."
He could barely make out her shape in the dark. He hadn't seen another human this close up since he was a child. Since he'd last entered the games. The imps made more of a racket down the hall opposite them. Their low growling sounded sick and disturbing. "Get somewhere safe and don't let them hear you."
Damien headed toward the direction. He could spot ten shadows in the distance.
Must have gotten in through a hole in the wall. he thought. He held his own breath and levitated a moment in the air. They wouldn't hear his footsteps as he headed down a side hallway but hers would be clear and audible.
Luci FernoLuci couldn't see well in the dark space. She moved slowly towards the voices. What she saw was the two men from earlier. The ones who had given her bread. She stayed at a distance watching from behind a crumbling wall. Something wasn't right and after a few blinks she saw it. "Get out of there!" She screamed loud as she rushed out.
Two black creatures had tackled the Fabian guy and more were coming from the ceiling. Fabian wrestled on the ground and screamed as the creatures bit into him. Bit after bit you could hear his flesh being ripped from the bone. About five of the black creatures had him on the floor. two munching on his face, three on his torso. his arms and legs wiggled about in all directions. His screams echoed out and five more creatures jumped down into the office space. Nothing could save him now.
"Eeeek!" she squealed before a flame appeared at her side. "Don't let them get me." She spoke to her wolf familiar spirit. A tall wolf orange and glowing with flames stood in front as if to protect her. She ran, Joe would either have to follow or try to save his friend or fight his way out of the front door, but either way she was going to have to find shelter. She opened a door leading to a stairway to an upper level and began running up the steps. There had to have been an office or closet she could hide in.

Joe rushed in, broom swinging, intending to save Fabian. Soon as he had full grasp of the situation though, that all changed. Sure the first Imp took it to the face and went down but, there were still four others, not including the ones that were currently eating away at Fabian. That image of his partner being eaten alive chilled Joe to the core. And at that moment he knew, Fabian was not getting out of this. With that determination gone, fight or flight was free to do it’s work, and Joe took the sane option.
An “Eeek” notified him of the girl’s presence. A the flaming, orange animal of some kind phased into existence, illuminating enough for Joe to watch said girl run into the stairwell. It seemed like a good idea at the time, so Joe sprinted after her, catching the door before it closed fully, saving him the time and effort of turning the knob.
Once inside he briefly looked around for something to barricade the door. Nothing.
“Up we go then.”
He continued to sprint after the girl, climbing the stairs two at a time. It was at that moment when reasoning came back to him.
“Wait a minute. Didn’t those monsters just come from the ceiling. Wouldn’t going up just lead me to… more of them…”

Sachiko wandered around a bit more, keeping the man's words in her head, she froze and jumped a bit when she heard his voice speaking to him from behind. She simply nodded some in response. I guess...He's being pretty nice so far, so I guess he's not that demon...Right? She wondered, before she snapped back into reality by the way how he had said that. Don't let them hear me...Right...Even though I can turn invisible, they still might be able to hear me if I start walking around too much. Sachiko went to one of the corners of the hospital, hoping it to be safe enough for the moment. She would then simply just sit there, ready to use her angel's ability if anything with an agressive intent showed up. At least now she wasn't making any noise. G-Gah...This is such a pain...And i'm lagging behind the others too...If I don't hurry up and get some points...

Only five of the ten Reapers arrived at the gathering location. As the rest did not seem like they will arrive anytime soon they were assumed to be most likely dead with a small possibility of having gone rogue.
(We don't seem to be very sure of our current situation now are we. I doubt it would be this bad if we have had more Reapers on the lookout. Ten aren't nearly enough to fully monitor this damned city.) Johann silently complained about how understaffed they are within his head. It's not something he would say out loud in such a situation not that it would help it even if he did. Considering to write letter of suggestion on increasing the staff, he continues to listen on the briefing on a situation everybody already knows.
The briefing was over and the Reapers were paired up into two group to patrol the two sides of the bridges.
"I'll follow you." were the words spoken when the pink haired Reaper turned towards him. Johann remembered that he name was Lily or something along that line, he didn't care to associate himself with the other reapers to take note of their names.
"Okay." Johann said softly as he heads towards the bridge.
While crossing the bridge, Johann contacted Nanicci ,who was hiding in the comm center of God's Tower, using the wireless earpiece he had received. "Nanicci, I would like a update on the players' locations please."

(I apologize for the long delay and the massive walls of text.)
Luci Ferno
Luci reached the top of the stairwell. The second floor loomed ahead quietly in contrast to the thumps and low growling coming from the floor below. The flaming hell hounds followed up the steps quick at her heels. There was a third floor from what Luci could see, but the way up the staircase in the direction had been blocked with rubble. It seemed as if this building could fall apart at any moment. The echoing steps of Joe could be heard following below. "Are they coming after you?" she asked.
Not once did she even consider him being the demon. He looked to old and had already given her an act of kindness. And even if he were to somehow betray her she had her flaming hounds about. She heard Joe say something before pausing herself. There could be more of them. "Go" she nodded towards the dark hall before her.
The demon hounds entered the hall first lighting the way so that shadows bounced about. From what she could tell there were no imps coming out. "It looks clear up here." called down.
She slowly began to tiptoe down the hall after her flaming pets, cautious enough to check around corners.
Lily
The cool air felt food on her face as she glided silently through the wind. Lily had only been a reaper for two months and she enjoyed every minute of it.. The sights of Citadel city were something out of an apocalypse movie. The broken buildings and crimson sky had given it a feel of tragedy, which ironically was the exact description of everyone within Afterlife, even the reapers. Johann traveled a head of her. He always liked to be alone, which suited her just fine as she felt the same way. She glided a few inches above the ground taking in the sights and passed Gods tower when she saw a glint of blonde disappearing behind a smoking diner up ahead. It was at that moment she heard Johann contact Nanicci through her own nearby headset.
Ah hello Mr. Johann sir! I see you're listening in too Miss lady Lily! Just give me a few moments. The cheery voice in her headset went quiet a while before starting up once more in it's happy, bouncing, bubbly tone.
Ah! Oh wow! It seems like you two will be really busy here! Currently two players are residing in the hospital within the Hospital district, a man and a woman. A female player seems to be running from Imps within that area as well. Somewhere straight ahead a few blocks away from there is a two men-wait, no one's face is being chewed off. Make that one man and one female holed up in a building. On the other side within the slums there's a man and a woman resting within the Honey-badger hotel. It looks as if the Imps are crawling all over but the man and woman are safe inside though. Grrr! I figured the game would be over by now! Good luck Sir and Lady and remember to stay safe!
"3 locations 7 players. Seems like we got the raw deal." Lily muttered. "Where should we start investigating first? This demon could be any one of them."
Clarissa Montague
One, two, three pulls of the trigger and all three of the attacking black creatures fell before her. Her aim was precise and each bullet lodged somewhere within the bulbous skulls of the nasty looking things. She stepped casually over the corpses before casting an icy stare at the dark humming sky. More of them. She rushed forward and into the nearest building, slamming the door behind her as she went. A sigh escaped her mouth before a black shape came lunging at her torso, latching onto her blouse. She pulled the trigger once more and it fell to the ground.
"Damn things. Where the hell did they come from?"
She walked slowly down the corridor before entering a nearby office. She rummaged through the desk inside and found nothing of interest. She did the same with and overturned filing cabinet and found a flashlight with a battery. She flicked it on with a frown. The light was dull and weak. If she were lucky it'd last about a whole minute.
The building was big and by the looks of things it contained many individual rooms. It also had many of the dark creatures from outside littered about. Clarissa didn't mind the creatures, she could take on three no problem. Lucky for her the ghost pistol needed no ammo or reloading. It was a powerful weapon indeed. Suddenly she heard something as she turned a corner. It felt like a human presence, or a few.
Clarissa flicked on the flashlight for only a moment before dropping it and aiming her pistol at the five imp creatures before her. They screeched loud and flew toward her. One went down with ta squeeze of a trigger. Another toppled with it. She held one hand on her stomach before running and sliding on the cool tile floor, shooting upwards and catching another one of the creatures with a bullet. Two more shots rang out before she felt a pair of teeth sink into her hand.
She dropped the pistol and within mere seconds Clarissa bashed her hand into the nearest wall, along with the creature who was latched onto it. Withdrawing her hand from the wall with the pattered creatures skull she dropped down on her knees. This as much more that she hoped to ever experience. One day she was studying, not counting her recent ventures, and the next she was forced into a game of kill or be killed. She knew she'd have to kill. It was the only option, no only for her but others as well. The flashlight was still on and it illuminated the place with a dull dying light. She could now see that this was some sort of medical center. A hospital.
Clarissa had just enough time to see a girl sitting within a corner before the flashlight finally blew out. She stretched her arm out with her pistol and shot at the girl's direction within the darkness. She probably wouldn't have missed if it weren't for the injury on her hand.
"Haha I spy with my little eye some points that are mine for the taking." she chuckled as she walked closer and closer to the young girl.
Gabriel
The small white haired reaper knelt down before The Almighty once more. "Yes sir." he replied before standing and walking out.
No sooner had his investigation begin did The Almighty decide to interfere with his own plans. The Lord was always impatient when it came to inconvenience. He had a lot of thinking to do as he rode the lift down God's Tower. Sure the games had lasted longer than usual but the next part would surely have more deaths. It would be a test of every player. "Nanicci, I've got a task for you. How long until Day 2 begins?"
Aye aye sir it'll be about thirty more minutes until the next time jump! Just what is this task sir? boomed her cheery voice though his earpiece.

Only one floor up? Really? thought Joe as he reached the top of the staircase. He took a peek down to make sure the imps were not following. It looked like they didn't know how to open doors, yet.
"Nothing coming after us just yet," he answered before following Luci into the hall, making note of the rubble blocking the way up to the third floor.
It looked like all the imps were occupying the first floor, as there was nothing to note of on the second floor. Course, Joe was also continuing as cautiously as the girl in front of him was. Those imps had to have come from somewhere afterall.
After the two cleared the hallway the two found themselves in a room full of cubicles, or the remains of cubicles anyway. Some lay destroyed, other stood up just fine. Joe sighed. He figured as much but, having random walls in the room would make the it far more difficult to clear out. Imps could be hiding in any corner.
"Looks like we have out work cut out for us," he commented before carefully peering into one of the cubicles that still stood. He didn't want to be caught off guard like poor Fabian. As soon as he confirmed his own safety, he leaned back against the wall, slowly sliding down until he sat on the floor. It had been a stressful day with no rest in sight. He was going to have to make use of all the little moments.
"Hey you're the girl from earlier right?" he asked after a breather. "Sorry about what happened to your friend."

Sachiko heard the shots, of course, she was tired and her mind wandered off elsewhere but she was still trying to pay attention to everything around her. She didn't use her ability at first, wanting to save it for when it was really necessary. And then she saw the light being pointed at her. It was pretty much a reflex as she then, once more, turned invisible. Simply freezing in place as she heard the shot zip past her and smack not very far from where she was standing. ...I think my life just flashed in front of my eyes...Lots of scrolling on Tumblr, now that I think about it...Gah! Not the time! She shook her head a bit, gulping thin air, shifting herself around as she searched for anything that could be used as a weapon. She obviously wasn't going to go for a frontal strike, but if she ran out of there, that madwoman would hear her, and if she took too long her invisibility would wear off. That was when she spotted something...A crutch! One of these metal ones, with four smaller feet at the bottom end of it. She slowly moved over to it, trying to make sure she was not in Clarissa's line of sight. Slowly picking it up and wielding it with both of her hands, she would then try to smack the crutch against the back of Clarissa's head, a feeble attempt into knocking her out or at least doing some damage. Regardless of the result, Sachiko would then immediately drop the crutch and duck some, at least now if Clarissa turned around and started spraying bullets, she probably wouldn't try to aim downwards. ...Probably...Hopefully.

Listening to Nanicci's report, Johann looks back to check on Lily, who seems to be enjoying herself as she was gliding around in mid air.
(Good for her.) He silently thought to himself. Continue on with his attention back to Nanicci's report, Johann took notes on both the players' locations and Nanichi's cheerful tone of which he found to be mildly annoying.
"Thanks. We'll keep in touch." Johann had gotten what he needed, 7 players and 3 three locations. "This is going to be a long night." He will not have to decide what move to take at this point but that's easier said that done. (Do we split up to speed things up? or do we stay together for safety. Time works differently here, We'll have to get as much done as possible before the next time skip, but on the other hand five Reapers have already gone MIA. What now.............) Johann stopped his foot steps to ponder for but a few moments before turning back to Lily and spoke with a much stronger tone compared to the usual soft tone he speaks with. "We split up from here, you will head for the slums and I'll head for the hospital area." Seeing as Lily has some form of flight ability, she should be able to get to the slums faster and as there are only two players there, it shouldn't take too long. "Be careful and stay safe. If anything happens contact me and I'll go and back you up as soon as possible(less staff members means more work after all.)." Reverting back to his usual weak and soft tone, Johann added "and umm well, good luck."and went off into the direction of the hospital area.

Romeo WillisThe bed at the Honey-badger hotel was damp on his side. The comforter, when he woke from his nap, was a red darker than crimson, yet wet and uncomfortable as if he'd had an accident. The room itself was small and square. It was dark and illuminated with a tiny lamp sitting on the end table. He sat up and noticed another figure on the bed shifting away. Fae had decided to share the bed with whim despite her constant complaints of him being "unclean". Her snoring was soft and her breathing steady. Romeo got up and looked around. First at her, then at her angel phone which seemed to be lying at the foot of the bed.
What are you planning to do? his angel's voice spoke from the phone within his jacket.
Killing her would be easy. You should hurry before she wakes. He stood over the bed. He could kill the woman, he wanted to. If he had some sort of gun, or poison it would be easy, quick and simple. But he didn't. She'd saved him from the worst of the pain in his wounds. She also took care of him which meant he was in her debt. Romeo never owed a debt to anyone. Not the dealers he met with on the street, nor his nonexistent friends and family. He sighed and looked at the bandages wrapped around his body. They were red and soaking, but at least he didn't look like a human water fountain like before. "I've decided on something else Karen."
Like what? His angel phone replied. You're closer to winning this game than she. Just get the points already.
He took out his phone and gave her a toothy grin. "Returning to that world's not going to do me any good. I'd like to cash in for the reaper prize."
Luci FernoLuci nodded towards the stairwell and one of the hell hounds went to stand guard. The other lit up the office space with a brilliant light. She sat down across from Joe on the cold carpeted floor and caught her breath. He apologized for what had happened to her friend. She could only manage to reply "Likewise." and after a moment of silence. "Like, thanks for the bread n stuff."
It had been a crazy day. Her watch read 5 o clock pm. Nothing made sense anymore. She missed her small dog and her vanilla iced latte and her friends and her cheer quad. Now she was holed up in another place. "I hate this. It isn't fair, like, I want to just get out ya know? There's got to be a way to just stop fighting and go home."
her voice was a bit shaky and she had no idea why she'd decided to pour her heart out now of all times. "I keep thinking there's got to be some way to call this whole thing off and just have everybody live. Like, this is so messed up."
She shut her eyes to attempt a moment of rest of she could not get to sleep. Closed eyelids still helped ease her headache and her breathing.
Lily Johann had decided to split at soon as they reached their destination. Lily didn't know if it was because of his disgust with her or what. Things felt a bit eerie gliding along the dark streets of Citadel city. Her round owl like eyes seemed especially watchful tonight. She had only gotten past the diner when she heard the sound of sick churning. On more than one occasion she turned over her shoulder to look around. Nothing but dark shadows from moonlight.
She glided once more past a smoking burned down diner before hearing the sound again even louder. She braced herself and her wide eyes enlarged even more as a large creature burst through the charred rubble of the diner and lunged at her. Lily flipped back in reaction but within midair the fat creature caught her leg with it's stretched out tongue. She gasped as it sent her pounding down within the gravel. "Nanicci!" Was all she managed to say before the tongue jerked her toward a large gaping mouth hole.
She spun and materialized a small scythe and cut the creatures tongue that held her. The creature bellowed out in a deep voice of pain before it's severed tounge began to grow back almost instantaneously. The creature was fat and black. It looked eerie and no doubt it was an extremely powerful demon.
"But how on earth could it be HERE of all places?" she thought. This was a creature reserved exclusively for hell.
Yes Lady Lily? You called? Came Nanicci's bubbly voice.
"There's a Mammon lose!"
The fat creature was fast and ran toward her, lashign out it's toung again. AShe slashed at it as it came. The toung e= dodged time and time again as she struck defensively while the fat demon came close r and closer before jumping in the air.
I'm sorry I must not have heard you correctly Lady Lily. You said Mammon? Are you sure? Mutatued imps are common as well. It could just be overfed. cheered Nanicci's annoyingly happy voice.
"Just send backup!"
Lily let out a scream as she struggled to get away from the creature's landing zone. The pavement cracked and went flying in all directions as Mammon landed. It's fat body was wet with lust for blood. Lily panicked. Not even she had enough power to defeat one of the Seven Princes of Hell. "Johann! I've figure out what's been happening-ah!"
The Mammon's slimy tongue had wrapped around her throat so tight that she couldn't mutter the rest of her words. She felt around for her scythe before the creature jerked his tongue toward it's twisted vertical mouth. She had never expected to be taken out like this. What was a high level demon doing in these games? "Gabriel!" she managed to mutter with tears in her eyes before accepting her fate as this beast's victim.
Her owl like eyes were at their largest when she felt the creature's sharp like teeth chomp down onto her bones and devour her whole. Any of the Seven Princes of Hell were powerful rouge demons who didn't discriminate with who their prey was and reapers were no exception.
GabrielHurry Gabriel Sir! "Quiet I'm almost there."
Gabriel arrived on the scene too late. A materialized small scythe sat on the ground. "A Mammon?"
It's what she said Gabriel Sir. "Where the hell's Johann?"
No idea sir.Gabriel put his hand to his forehead. So
that's why reapers were disappearing at such an alarming rate. But a Prince of Hell does not belong in Afterlife. It's for Hell. To rule hell. "What on earth is happening?" the boyish looking reaper mumbled.
Got it! Johann's in the hospital area! Looks like the Mammon's headed that way as well. "Right." Gabriel disappeared in a puff of black smoke and made his way there as fast as he could before there were any more casualties.
Clarissa MontagueClarissa staggered forward after feeling a crutch smack her in the back of the head. She quickly slide her back up against the wall threateningly poising her gun out and shooting a few bullets in haste.
Held her breath. "Come out come out my sweet." It was all she could do not to chuckle at her mimicking voice.
"Your power is invisibility right? Pretty lame if you ask me. This datalog is so useful. It tells me all about you and the many others that'll help me win. "
She paused holding out her silvery wispy pistol in the dark hall. "You know I'm not as mean of a person as I seem miss Sachiko Hayashi. That's your name right? Or are you that stupid Luci girl? From what I saw you're too young looking to be that old nurse wench. Whoever you may be. I'd like to see you grow up and live a happy life. Maybe even have a child like me."
She waited for a reply from the darkness before continuing. She heard no footsteps or breathing but she knew somewhere that girl was watching. " I'm fighting for two don't you understand? She held her hand on her stomach. I never wanted to participate in these games but if it's for my child I'll kill you too. We could strike a deal? How about it?"
She smiled a bit before continuing. She would kill the girl as soon as she revealed herself. "So?" A heavy crash came from a hall not too long from here. Even in the darkness Clarissa could spot a fat black shape before she dodged it's flapping young.
She pulled her trigger at it a few times before it lunged forward, it's nasty vertical mouth opened and full of bloody razor sharp teeth with strands of pink hair. "Shit"

<Cora: You've got this woman in the corner. The question is do you beat her once more and make sure that thing eats her and her kid or do you get out? I'd go for option 1. Maybe if you can find some needles you can cut up that beast and that nasty woman! The bloodier the better!>

Joe took out his phone checking the status updates as well as to look up the profile of the girl. Last he checked, he didn't actually know her name, and the moment to ask formally had long gone. More bad news on the phone as usual. One of the players had taken the Reaper Reward. Things were going to get harder now that there were 30 less points in circulation, and there was another threat to potentially deal with. Well that was one less way out of all this for Luci Ferno here.
"Hold on..." paused Joe as he recited that name again in his head. "Luci Ferno. Luci Ferno. Lucifer?"
Joe cast the thought aside as nothing more than coincidence. It was a far stretch he had to adimt. Not to mention, it was fruitless to cast suspicion on another player, especially one that was pouring her heart out. Though if this girl did turn out to be the demon, he had to admit, she would have quite the sense of humor.
Joe finally stood up, throwing his over the cubicle wall, and sluggishly leaned.
"I suppose it's all kinds of of f-ed up," replied Joe. He leaned over to see Luci eyes closed. That didn't stop him from continuing though. If she listened fine but, this was more for getting things straight in his own head. "It's like that Clarrisa girl said. Chances are, we aren't coming out of this holding hands and singing... whatever it was she said. Point is, the only thing we can do is follow the rules, and hope we get what's promised. It's about as fair as real life really..."
Joe trailed off recalling events in his gaming career. This first time he failed to make top 8. How the gaming community got on his case for it. Booing him off the stage. Calling him washed up, Treating him as if he were some fresh scrub.
"Move aside Joe Brody. You're finished. You can't compete with the real players," they told him.
Sure, there might have been a grain of truth to those statements. He was naturally getting slower with age, and he found it increasily more difficult to win than before. But, did that really give everyone to treat him like garbage? Especially with all his previous accomplishments. How was that fair to him?
Back in the real world Joe could grew more and more agitated, re-experiencing the frustration that no matter what you did, you ended up screwed. He clenched his fist as the anger boiled over, before finally releasing it in the form of a punch directed at the cubicle wall, which caved under the force. Guess these things were a little older than he had thought.
He withdrew his hand from the dent in the wall, taking a deep breath to sooth himself, and to keep himself from wincing in pain. In hindsight, punching the wall wasn't the smartest idea.
"Sorry if I startled you there," he apologized.

Johann walks along the empty street that will take him to the hospital area wondering that if the city is always like this, that it might used to be an actual city instead of the grounds used for the game there're holding. Holding a black scythe that is about equivalent to his own height in his right hand in the case that he would need to defend himself without warning, something that is likely to happen. As he goes on only his footsteps can be heard echoing about the empty streets with occasional sighting of imps running around. Turning around to check up on what's behind him in each interval,Johann continued cautiously onward. He would have been much more at ease if he hadn't decided to split up. It was really nothing personal, with 7 players and 3 locations the best way to handle it was to divide the work, of course, it would have been much easier with more Reapers around as with his original complaint.
"Johann! I've figure out what's been happening-ah!" was what he could hear before Lily's words were cut off. It happened around the time when Johann was considering about contacting Lily to check up on her. "Lily?! are you alright? Lily?" It doesn't seem like she would be replying anytime soon. "Nanicci, I need Lily's location right now. Do you hear me, I need her location NOW!" Johann's heart beats are increasing as he is starting to regret splitting up. He didn't care about anyone else other than himself, but if she died because he decided to split up, he would not be able to forgive himself especially when he knew of the risks. It would be just like that other time.

Sachiko did her best to stay quiet, not wanting to warn Clarissa of her presence, but hearing her words nonethless. ...A baby? No no no...! Sh-She's just trying to fool me! It's not true! Sachiko thought to herself, shaking her head slightly. She snapped out of her thoughts, however, when she heard the crash. Sachiko flinched a bit, turning slightly to see the incoming tongue, not sure if she should stand there or run. She then heard her angel's words, however, she considered the idea for a moment. Right...! Needles!
She stated, glancing around once more, not moving or anything yet. Needles...Needles...NEEDLES! Her eyes widened a bit as she spotted a bunch of left over needles not far from there. Figuring Clarissa would be busy dealing with that thing, she tried to walk away from the location to grab the needles, her invisibility starting to fade away.
She grabbed a single needle, holding it nervously with both of her hands as she tried to take cover behind a wall. She took a single deep breath, if Clarissa came close, she had a weapon now...Sort of.

Amos
"Just what do you suppose happened partner?" The effeminate reaper gave a hair flip after turning away from the shack where one of the contestants were holed up, safe from all imp attacks. "I mean Lily and all of that noise. You heard it too didn't you?"
He stood looking out at the unrealistically large moon shining above the broken city. He couldn't help but to reflect upon the harsh sounds of Lily's incoming report. She mumbled something about a mammoth, there were sounds of a fight, a crunch and then her mic seemed to have been crushed by something. "You think she probably died?" he asked running his fingers through his long hair. "I'd bet she probably did. Lily was one of the newer reapers. It kind of suck to be taken out as a reaper though to tell you the truth. It's like, what did you even choose this option for if you can easily be taken out and written from existence. I'd like to think there's a heaven for reapers- Oh look at me rambling again."
He twirled and stretched his arms up. "Well, I guess we should go check it out with the others, right Fagelein?" he made a mocking face and pushed his lips together.
"Right my Faggy Waggy Poo? <3" The attempt at cuteness was actually frightening in this lighting and setting.
Clarissa Montague
Clarissa stood almost paralyzed before she turned and screamed running the opposite direction. Down the dark corridors of the hospital the fat creature thrashed it'as tongue violently as if trying to get a hold of something. The fat tongue took out walls, lights, and other hard concrete ceiling pieces. Rubble tossed everywhere and every so often Clarissa would have to shield her eyes and blindly shoot out a few rounds. She held her hand towards her stomach before she dodge the tongue once more. It was long, stretchy, and quick. it struck like a viper and gave of a slight sucking sound after touching surfaces. "The hell is this thing?!" she gasped before spotting the Sachiko girl going completely unnoticed on the other end of the hall.
"Hey! Look!" She pointed in the young girls direction but the monster's tongue came lashing out at her. The creature's head turned but it's body continued to follow her.
She quickly spun behind a corner and spotted another player, only this time she was not prepared to kill. For once she was alarmed. This man however took one look at her and seemed to effortlessly float away with a look of pity upon his face. he left her fast and the creature was coming around the hall corner. You'll pay you weird kid. What's his name again Damien? You're mine next time. she thought as she ran down the hall herself.
The narrow halls were almost too much for the creature to run after her. It's tongue continued to smash the place. She could hear it. Perhaps it had gone After Sachiko instead after all.
Gabriel
Johann wasn't hard to hear. His shouting at Nanicci could be heard from Gabriel's location. The small boyish albino reaper materialised beside him from wispy black smoke. "She's gone. I was just there." he responded as fast as he could. "Did you happen to see the creature around here?"
Actually Sir's I've managed to spot the Mammon myself. It's in the hospital, going after players.
Gabriel wanted to curse but chose to nod his head instead. Any interference within the Afterlife games did not please The Almighty one bit. As he seemed to recall the only reason he'd become the head reaper was because The Almighty had destroyed the last one for her interference with the killing of a former friend of hers. "We're going to hunt it down Nanicci." Gabriel spoke looking at Johann. "Give the other reapers our location at once. This fight is going to need at least three if we want to survive and send that thing back to hell."
Aye aye sir! I'll update the others asap sir! Good luck sirs.
Luci Ferno
Luci's eyes fluttered open as soon as Joe hit the wall. "Like what are you doing? Do you want your face eaten too?" she nodded toward the stairwell. There was no telling whether those black creatures could comeback.
She'd been thinking long with her eyes closed about what he said. Follow rules and kill each other? That was too barbaric. "So this is it then huh? We die and god makes us kill each other for his own entertainment? Like, this still isn't fair."
She was frustrated even more and stood to go glance outside a nearby window. There were small creatures retreating toward the sky. They looked like black skeletal children with wings and they grouped in the sky to return to wherever they had come from. "I wonder..." she began. "Do you think if we somehow managed to kill the reapers we could escape the game? I mean, like, think about it they like, run the game and stuff. So if there's none left we could all leave and go home right?"

"Yeah, yeah," replied Joe to the girl's comment. "I feel stupid enough without you rubbing it in."
He continued to rub his hand to ease the pain before responding again. "We could have a whole philosophical discussion on what's fair. But, that's going to take to long, and won't accomplish anything. Sure, it would be nice if we could all just come back to life as if nothing ever happened but, we all have to die at some point. It has to happen. Though I share your sentiment for being used as entertainment. If I'm going to die, I'd rather just get it over with rather than take part in someones Battle Royal."
Joe returned to his spot on the floor as Luci got up to walk over to the window. This whole alternating between sitting and standing probably wasn't necessary but, it made Joe feel more secure having some person on the alert while the other rested. He leaned his head back against the wall, closing his eyes in relief after he had he looked over at the same window to see the face-eating creatures fly away. He did it, he survived another day.
"I wonder..."
His eyes slowly opened at Luci's remark.
"Do you think if we somehow managed to kill the reapers we could escape the game? I mean, like, think about it they like, run the game and stuff. So if there's none left we could all leave and go home right?"
Joe pondered those words for a moment. He had never thought of that option. Did Luci's idea hold any merit. After a few minutes of mulling it over, he came to the conclusion that it was very likely not.
"I doubt it," he finally answered. "Sure, the rules say you can challenge a reaper and get more points circulating into the game. Killiing all of them is likely not going to save us though. I'm sure if 'God' has something to do with this, than he gets the final say. Or, we could just be screwing ourselves over by killing those who may have the power to get us out of here. And even if this plan did have some merit, the reapers are stronger than us. I wouldn't go after them without at least the 50 points, which would require... well... killing people."

Johann was panicking and didn't realize the he was shouting, the reason for his distress was the fact that he had already knew what to expect. 5 Reapers went missing without anyone noticing what had happened before it was too late, that means that they must have been taken down within a very short amount of time. Johann would not have made it even if he were to run with anything he had and even if, by some miracle, that he was able to make it in time, he would be too tired to be of any use. It was only moments later that he heard it from Gabriel himself, who had appeared in a cloud of smoke, that Lily was no more. Johann looks down towards the ground with his hand clutching tightly onto his scythe.
(I made the wrong choice again.......)
When he was asked if he saw some creature around here, Johann lifts his head back up again. Interrupting before he could answer, Nanicci's transmission came in saying that she spotted a Mammon in the hospital attacking players. (Why the hell is a Mammon doing here?) Johann knows that it clearly did not belong in the game and what's more is that it is now attacking players. (This just got from bad to worse.) Johann felt Gabriel looking at him as he calls for back up, wondering what Gabriel wants with him as he gazed back at him. Johann made one comment with his eyes clearly stating that he is thirsty for some blood.
"Looks like this is going to be a long night."

Hearing upon all the commotion really got Fagelein worried. He stood by thinking of what might have happened till his partner starts talking. "What do suppose happened partner?" Amos' hair flip really got Fagelein dumbfounded for a second. "I mean Lily and all of that noise. You heard it too didn't you?". "...I'm not too sure bout the rest but I could already tell that the girl's in trouble." He couln't help but notice that Amos was really deep in thought. "Do you think she probably died?". "I would rather not..." "She probably did". (I wasn't even finished) "Lily was one of the newer reapers. It kind of suck to be taken out as a reaper though to tell you the truth. It's like, what did you even choose this option for if you can easily be taken out and written from existence. I'd like to think there's a heaven for reapers- Oh look at me rambling again." "Its fine, I like listening to oher people's opinions." Being the new kid in the block, Fagelein just stood by and waited for Amos to make a move. His excessive amount of hair interaction is really getting to Fagelein. "Well, I guess we should go check it out with the others, right Fagelein?". Before Fagelein could say anything he added "Right my Faggy Waggy Poo? <3" Fagelein's eyes twitched abit and his elbows started to wobble. "Lets just get a move on already." He started walking twice as fast as he thought to himself (My Lord, just who is the one that arrange our partners?)
