Full Version: Is it OK to post bust-up pics for material?

OK, what I want to say is that, we can post bust-ups (or large face graphic or whatever) as material or not. I mean, is it allowed to do that?

As you know, I live in Japan and here people use Japanese version of RPG makers.
And in Ace, we aren't allowed to post our bust-up pics anywhere and it can't be used as material...
(So I decided not use Ace, by the way.)

I completely don't know why they decided to prohibit that, but it's what they're saying...
So, the question, is it same with other countries?
Or is it just for only Japan?

I know it must be a stupid question, but I'm wondering about that for a while, seeing so many people don't know this matter...

I'm not aware of any restrictions regarding resource submissions.
Feel free to post whatever resources you like (as long as you own them) here on RRR. happy.gif

So, it's alright...? Well, in case my words were not clear over there, I'll write some more about that...

I feel worry because everyone in Japan says that we can't post RTP frankens about Ace bust-ups.
Of course, we can edit or post as materials about VX RTP, and we can edit Ace's face graphics (96*96 things) too, but NOT ACE BUST-UPS they say.

...Yes, it sounds really odd, since I can't see any meaning of them (enterbrain) doing this.
However, Ace users in Japan are prohibited to do that and think it's same with other countries.
Thus they think it's illegal to make and publish bust-up recoloring/variations/frankens about Ace, and sometimes criticize those who do that.

...And, I personally find it's sad to see that...
If foreign users are not allowed to do that too, and they (those making RTP franken bust-ups) do know that, then I don't much care.
But it's not looked like this...

It seems that people are misunderstanding each other.
You know, Japanese are thinking it isn't allowed. On the other hand, people from other countries thinks it's OK.
And that fact causes problems...

...Let me tell you a long story. I can't explain it in short...

Actually, when I recommended one of my friends a foreign resource creator who makes really good stuffs on drawing, he said, "But this person make Ace's RTP bust-up,too. And it's not allowed, you know? So I won't use these." Though he was looking for VX resource.
And since he is my friend and I really came to like those stuffs too, I found it is sad...

Yes, it's sad he said he won't use them ( VX resources from that creator) , but I also understand his feeling.
He must be thinking that he doesn't want to use materials from people do wrong things.
And that is not wrong, too...

But what if foreigners actually allowed to do that?
Then, this means that my friend just missed some good materials and the creator got some invalid criticizes.
It is not good at all, I felt... And decided to ask this here.

Gasp, long enough to sun set.
But that's what I wanted to ask people around here.
I want to know/confirm that it is OK to do that in other countries, or not, and if we are wrong or they are wrong or Enterbrain just made a double standard...

Sorry for terribly long and crappy writing.
I hope I could make my thoughts clear with this...
And thank you for your quick response. I was a bit surprised that you answered me so quickly. smile.gif

I don't think I've ever been aware on Enterbrain's position of editing their resources. I would look for an official comment by them on their website or the forum staff on the official forums. I'm not sure if they would have different rules for different resources.

Well i am sure you already got it form X-M-O, but the only restriction of posting stuff here is if it isn't your own. So welcome and have a nice time. I will try my best to help you out as much as possible if you have any questions about this site or any questions about RM in general. I will be there to try to help. So have a good time here. biggrin.gif
