I'll probably mostly post covers here, I don't write a lot these days.
I don't have fancy recording equipment (or even non-fancy recording equipment) so you'll have to settle for my webcam.
I'm also a pretty lousy singer. I'm not tone deaf or anything (in fact I'm mostly in key) I just have an unpleasant voice.
If I haven't turned you away already perhaps these vids will. (You'll have to follow the links I'm afraid, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with my tags if a mod wouldn't mind cleaning them up for me)

my current WIP

An instrumental peice. God bless! I zoomed out so you could see what was going on with the guitar in case you have any ideas. I'm working on a bridge that'll go between the second and third set of C variants.

I Like Birds - Eels

A song I often wish I had the courage to play live, but it does just feel a little too 'out there'. I messed up the whisolo a little so I might rerecord.

Hello, I'm Johnny Kaust

I'll probably re-record this, its been a while since I've played my harp (the reeds warped and I didn't have the cash to fix it) so its all kinda foreign to me again (at points muscle memory was making me tongue-block and I was like "...am I making out with my harmonica?!")

X-M-O
I fixed the YouTube links for you. ^^

I love your work. =]

The whistling part is just a matter of practice, and having more confidence will help get that part right (more force is necessary in whistling than singing, and you maintain the same force when whistling as when you sing, so that might be the issue - hard to tell).
Kaust
Ah thank you for the kind words X-M-O (and the link fixes). I've never hit that high note in the whisolo without dropping the whole thing down an octave, its a real shame. You may be right about the whole confidence thing, but I was mostly distracted by trying to find something else to look at than the camera laugh.gif

Here are some recordings generously provided by my old flatmate (recorded using GarageBand(?) on his Ipod)
The Flat 30 Sessions

The Ballad of John and Yoko (The Beatles) cover
I love this recording. It all came together considering I didn't know the song until five minutes before recording (you'll hear me flicking the through the tab book at some point), it also fell a little more comfortably into my vocal range than most songs.

And Your Bird Can Sing (The Beatles) cover
This is a mess but it was fun. Having someone with a northern accent play Beatles with you really adds to the authenticity. You might want to turn your speakers down, its very fuzzy.

Hound Dog (Elvis) cover
We had a much better recording of this but the file corrupted, is there some way to fix this?

Nice work on the Ballad of John and Yoko; it does suit your vocal range much better than the previous works. =]

The other Beatles song needs a bit of volume control on the separate instruments (you should try recording the instruments separately and then overlaying them in audio software so that you are able to modify the volume of each instrument).

The Hound Dog song always made me laugh. tongue.gif
What do you mean by "the file corrupted"? A little more information on that might be helpful in fixing the problem.
Kaust
So, here's a song I learnt about an hour ago, its pretty easy I'm just pretty proud of my voice in it.
Sorry I look so unkempt, I typically only groom myself if I've got somewhere to go and I think today's gna be a bed day =]
Hotel Yorba- White Stripes

@X-M-O; I don't really know what wrong with the file, if I open it still says 2-3 minutes (so the data is still there) but after about 30 secs it just stops (not goes quiet with the timer continuing, doesn't close the program, just stops the track).
X-M-O
Seems as if there is an issue with the way the file was originally created. Without the original it can't be fixed, but I'm not sure what might cause that to happen (short of an unstable computer or software bug).

Nice work with Hotel Yorba! ^^
I could hardly tell that you were unkempt, as the picture quality is fairly blurred, but you did sing well enough anyway. happy.gif
