This is my first edit of a XP size character. This is for Holder's white haired dark knight credit to Holder for his sprites being a base.

A mac size char?? What is that?
Kaleb Daub
oh sorry I should say XP style where I am from we call them mac sized. I will change to prevent more confusion.

It looks pretty good, though Holder's battle sprite doesn't have a full cape like that; his character's cape only covers from the waist down (or so it appears to me).
Also some of the areas of the outfit have gold (the part that keeps the waist-bound cape attached to the belt) and brown (boots) colours.

Other than that, it looks pretty close to what he's got. ^^

@Lato Its a recolor for the cloths they were originally red, black and purple and I made the hair its a project I have been working on since Holder released his sprite it was pretty hard for me here is the original.

@X-M-O The cape will be hard to make to start at the waist for me I will try I looked at it and your right I didn't notice the gold I will start editing the armor at least.

Eh more power to you man its such a pain in the #%$ editing XP sprites dont give up!

thanks the recolor was easy enough bit I spent days and like eight hours a day making that hair look good. Its my first good hair edit. Its a bit easier to manipulate XP sprites than VX I think. Also here is the edit so far

wow nice one smile.gif This is cool. I hope you don't mind but I noticed you posted this in the critique thread aswel. Anyway I did a mock up from him in XP. The main things that I noticed on yours there was that there's no shade for the hanging hair, this gives the really sharp edge.
There was a few little things such as eye colour and what not but you'd said it was mainly on the hair you'd focused upon.
Aside from the colour there wasn't much that I altered hair wise, just a few tweaks.

In general though I hope you can take a few little things away from the edit I did. Just remember though I've not done XP sprites in a very long time. So there wasn't any RTP reference so I may have missed a few common colours or styles.

EDIT: Oh a little tip, try to not work with a pure white or pure black background. It helps a lot when spriting.

whoa Holder didn't think you would edit it I am actually a newbie to spriting my edits are usually small or recolors so I don't know much yet but thanks for what you did your work looks great I don't know how good I can make mine like yours so my version might not be 100% best like your I am using your battle sprite for my game and hopefully I can learn from you and make walking sprites VX and XP for your people if I were an awesome spriter I would already have but it will take a while because of other projects I have. But I will try to finish this sprite.

No problem smile.gif I hope you can pick a few things from that. Don't worry it is a long process and quite a learning curve. Best thing to do is have lots of references and keep testing and trying new things, it always helps - even if you're not happy you'd have learned something.

Keep at it and I hope to see what you come up with next.

Thanks Holder still learning hopefully i can become as good as you and maybe even become top game at every element of RM.
