It's great to see these posted up, Holder.
I didn't realise that VXAce scripts have already been made for these battlers - that's awesome. As usual, excellent work on these, and I hope that members use and appreciate your works. ^^

Thanks for the compliment in the awards thread there XMO I was nice to see the scripts go up with my battlers as default, actually the scripts were done -at least a beta- before the actual release of Ace, which was nice.
I've also got a couple of ways that people can keep a watch on how things are going, The wordpress blog is for updates which aren't always for releases, sometimes general information on any advancements and sometimes even looking for answers to design questions which I may have. The twitter account is there for every day minor updates, as I've been getting quite a few PM at other forums for general updates and to see how things are going, while those continue (which is great by the way, love to read and reply to those interested) everyone can see and hopefully even get a general idea on how long these things take to do

Beautiful battler Holder But they do also the characters for these battler?

I would depend entirely on what Engine you're using, I'd be surprised if there wasn't one for XP since this was a very popular battler from DollMage but for VX / Ace I wouldn't think so... could be in the future though.

jets animated Battlers I was going to use these in RPG Maker VX using Tankentai's Sideview Battle System, but couldn't understand how to config it. So with Jets being designed to use your animated battlers for Ace figured why not i just got Ace not to long a ago. But Keep up the good work.

I have mixed feelings about these battlers, on the one hand they are superb quality as far as custom battlers go, yet that also seems to work against them, they seem like they would be very hard to edit, and so detailed it would be hard to match them to a faceset char profile. Also the terms of use seem a bit limited, not even a option to talk to the creator for further use???
Still as always your work speaks for itself.

Same here lato I am using these for a game I am making but having a hard time finding chars and faces for them but you are also right work speaks for its self and that these are super qaulity but are just a little hard to find people for some of them. Even so I said it once and I will say it again Keep up the good work holder I love your sprite work.

Luckily Ace has a face maker which makes this problem not so bad, and once you get a face close with it the edits can be done much faster. Its also good that there is a export feature. It gives these very narrow battlers a better way to be used in games, I have even messed around with it

@mooshra what you can do for VX is use Minkoff's Animated Battlers Enhanced VX. I'm sure there's a configuration section to set it up for use with the extra poses.
@lato a couple of people have already done some edits upon these, I've kept to a simple colour choice so recolours aren't a problem though I can understand that certain poses may be difficult for detailed edits. A lot of them already do have facesets/character sets available, also what I was testing the water with was doing my own, see this blog post: http://animatedbattlers.wordpress.com/2012...ching-material/ Problem is I'm not used to doing faces in VX/Ace style so it may take a while for me to do this.
In regards to the terms of use I've tried to keep it as clean and short as possible, I'm only a PM away if there's anything you'd like to ask in confidence.

Jun 16 2012, 02:55 PM
thanks holder I will see cant wait for the next characters you make. Also I have a question about the terms of use if I were to make a character from scratch using your dummy can I use it for a commercial game?
Holder
Jun 16 2012, 03:29 PM
The reason why I say not for commercial use is because there's sometimes elements or designs from other sources -Like Meliadul for example isn't my design - nor is it dollmages, as far as I'm aware it was via a request to dollmage, so who know's where it's from originally. The dummy is really just intended for testing really, I don't understand because if it's from scratch then you'd not be using it. Do you mean like for the proportions and things?
Hm well we have had our issue with PMs Holder so I will leave it at that.
As far as the battlers it is a real shame about the not knowing where parts of it are from, I completely understand that reason for limiting terms of use, but at the end of the day its still limited, even with they way you do battlers, and dont get me wrong they are the BEST I have ever seen, I dont think anyone would ever argue that, for MY needs it just doesnt fit, although im sure it would be ALOT of fun to edit some cool clothes/armor into them.
Choices are always good, and a lot of ppl enjoy using these types of battlers, for me I have to stick to the sprite sideview battlers simply because of terms of use.

The frog is so cute! XD I should totally make a game where your main character is a frog prince, and that would be the battler before he becomes a prince, lol.
Great job on those, and I love the Chao as well. ^^

XMO forgot to mention that if I ever did do Sonic characters I think I'd go for the classic old sonic characters. It'd be hard to not make it look like a sonic from an existing title though, I suppose I could try.
Yes, definitely! I love the older Sonic games more because they have a lot more... character? Modern Sonic games just seem to lose that for me. =\ Maybe that's because I grew up on games like that (early 90's), lol.
Anyway, I like how well this new battler is coming along. It looks much better than the older one, but is clearly the same "actor". =]

I love these types of tutorials! They really are useful/helpful for people wanting to learn how you do things specifically so they can emulate that and eventually go off on their own to do similar work. ^^
You did a fantastic job, and I'd love to see more.
One thing I'd recommend you do, before uploading to YouTube, is add "dividers" so people who are trying to find a specific part of your video can simply look for the visual cue that tells them where you are talking about something in specific (for example, having the video recording pause and a black screen appear with white text that says "this next section goes into detail about x/y/z"). Hope that makes sense, though I should think that it would make more sense to do in longer videos and/or videos where you go over multiple concepts. Anyway, just a thought. =]

Just thought I'd let everyone here know of a NEW XP animated battler script, created by Moonpearl it offers some fantastic features. You can check out a basic run down here at my blog then there's links to Moonpearls blog where all the extras are located. http://animatedbattlers.wordpress.com/scri...mated-battlers/ Since there's a lot of developers here that use XP still I figured it's a good place to get some people using and trying it out. Enjoy.
