I've recently reupdated my copy of DDO: Eberron Unlimited. Used to play a lot and have a pure Bard(believe it's Lv.14) and a Rogue/Monk multiclass that's somewhere in the realm of 16-18, both on Cannith. I've been thinking of playing again, but I was kicked from my guild for inactivity(lost my internet for a couple months, causing me to stop playing) and am thinking of subscribing again. Anyone ever play it?

Its just like 90% of good onlines games, it started out good, then they just went crazy with the new ideas and updates, kinda like wow but not as bad, I used to love playing it, but then they started the only rebirth stat crap and then the "free" version of the game just put a huge divide in the game but will keep it going for awhile longer. I just dont think its worth it, id suggest the star wars online game.

Eh, I'm on a budget, and The Old Republic costs money to buy plus the subscription cost. I still enjoy a lot of the adventures, though I do agree the F2P content vs the P2P stuff is silly. It's pretty hard to find a group after Lv.12 or so if you're F2P because of the lack of adventures.

The rebirth thing is a little bit out there, but it's to keep things interesting. I believe VIPs have a limit of 8 characters(Premium has 4 and free has 2, if I remember right), so eventually one would hit Lv20 with all of them and go through the Epic difficulty adventures and have little left to do, so rather than increasing the level cap(which they're apparently doing, to Lv.25) they allowed rebirths to encourage people to keep playing while also encouraging them to pay them more money for the required item(whether buying it directly, or buying the adventure pack where it can be found). While it's not the best idea, it was certainly a good business move on their part.
