Full Version: A question about Parallax Maps

Ok first off, not sure if this is the appropriate thread for this, but I didn't know where else to put it.

Now on to the question, I am attempting to build a parallax map that has a bridge that spans the cliff. That part was easy, I can do that. The problem I am having is I would like the player to be able to go under the bridge from one angle and over the bridge for another. Is this possible using parallax, or should i have two maps to do this, one where they go below and one where they go above? Any tips would be appreciated.

Here is a basic screen shot of what I'm talking about. (The map is unfinished, before you judge my mapping skills tongue.gif)

What you could do is create the bridge on one layer and ensure that you create a parallax that has the bridge on it. This is for when your character is crossing it and if you want the character to go under the bridge set up a touch event for when you touch a certain square or a group of squares as the case maybe then it activates a picture of just a bridge, which if you use the same bridge just hide all the other layers. You will not notice a difference and should be able to walk under it. Try it out and let me know how it goes.
