Well, it's been a while since I started making games with VX. I'm still a beginner, but I think I know quite a lot about it (I am pretty good in making games with RM2003 so yeah).

Welcome to the forums mate, hope your project turns out well. We have a lot of help to offer you at the forum, so just ask at any thread. I can eventually help you out with writing, but I'm using XP, as i find the mapping much more easier, so can't help much there 
Also, a little tip, the tutorials mainly work for both RMXP and RMVX, if not you just have to edit few details.
