I don't know if anyone here remembers me, but I was a very active member here about 2 or 3 years ago, just starting out as a MIDI composer. Well, thanks to the wonderful and amazing support of all the people here, I was inspired to pursue my dream of becoming a video game and film composer, and I return to you today to report my success, and leave you with a reward in thanks of my time here!

These were all made for video games or films (nothing too big) but I had to take out any copywritten materials. There is still about 40 songs in the folder though!

Download link: http://www.4shared.com/zip/kZISxXLc/file.html?

And here are links to some of the samples from inside the folder!

Adventure Awaits Symphony and a dulcimer - Action/Theme

Fog of War Symphony - Action

Like Clockwork Piano and Symphony - Peaceful/Theme

I can never thank this community enough and I am inspired to see how active it has remained.

Please, if anyone wants to request a song, just send me an email at: allen.calmes@gmail.com

I'm not too busy to write for you guys, and I'm always looking for work!

If it goes through to the summer and I could work on music then, then I could definitely do it. I'm a bit busy finishing up Senior year, but this summer, I won't be terribly busy.

BTW, I find out if I got accepted into Berklee School of Music in Boston in a week from today! If I get in I'll get to go with my friend Tomomi, the composer for Soul Calibur 5! Wish me luck!

Anyway, if I'm going to devote myself to be a full time composer for a project, I'd have to do it over the summer, but if I'd be sharing the work with other composer/s then I could probably do it whenever!

How do you like the music, Btw?
X-M-O
Wow, that sounds amazing. ^^
Best of luck getting into Berklee School of Music. :3

I really love the dulcimer - not sure why, lol.
Anyway, I liked the first one (Adventure Awaits) the most. wink.gif

Fog of War is nice as well, but the dynamics were a little fast in my opinion (really enjoyed it though). =]

The last link is broken, so I had to change the url to find the song, but I really enjoyed it regardless (it'd be my second favourite of the lot). happy.gif

Fixed it!

And thanks so much! I'm glad that you liked them! Fog of War was written for a trailer, so the dynamics had to move faster than usual, but I see where you're coming from. Adventures I wrote just for the fun of it. And Like Clockwork was the opening theme for some over-dramatic indie hipster movie. It was pleasant, but riddled with melodrama. biggrin.gif
X-M-O
Ah, that makes sense then (Fog of War dynamics). ^^
Like Clockwork really does have a familiar sound to it; just can't place it, lol.
(Best kind of melodrama in an amateur/indie film is LOTS of melodrama.) XD
dragndude9
I still feel that way about Like Clockwork. I think it lies somewhere between the repeating piano riffs of "The Excorcist" and the high register melodrama feeling from shows like CSI and Law and Order.

I'd just gotten done watching Get Low when I wrote it, and I can tell you the music is not really anything like that. (Good movie, btw, if you haven't seen it. Neat music)

Took a listen to some of your music, and so far it's pretty good. Thanks for sharing, we can always use free music! smile.gif

wow man really good Sounding Stuff!

what vst's you use? especially your string?
dragndude9
I use Logic Pro 9.0 as my DAW and my sounds are EastWest Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra Gold Edition. Altogether it's a 750 dollar set up but so friggin worth it!!! East West is super taxing on the sound system, and expensive, but the final result is worth the hassle.

Any tracks in there that use electric guitar is Native Instruments' free trial of Guitar Rig, just like the Uilleann pipes are part of Native instrument's free Kontakt player.

Perhaps I'm Necroposting this, but if not, I'd Wonder if I can request a song?
