I noticed there weren't any Ace topic icons so I whipped up two different versions real quick

This is now a mini contest by XMO to design the new Ace topic Icon.

xmo-Anyone may submit an icon for this mini-contest, and it can be done at any time in this topic. =]

We need it for topic tags, don't see why they wouldn't accept it.

It's a nice suggestion and graphic, though the text seems garbled.
We'll want it to say "VX Ace", and I agree with only having the one dragon head (as that would be consistent with our other topic tags). =]

We'll consider using something like that, though we can't make any promises until it gets a unanimous vote from the Directors.

Of course, the Directors would decide on which one actually becomes the new topic icon, but it might be a good idea to have a contest or something. Thanks for the suggestion. ^^

I think its great work (on the first everything could be moved a bit to the left imo) considering it was unprovoked, can't help but feel ShinGamix has earned the right to have their work used, once its met any prerequisites the directors desire.

It's likely we'll get a little contest going for this (not an anonymous one, rather a direct submission one) and then we'll decide which one will be used.

On that note, we could use this topic for that if anyone else would like to propose a design for the VXAce topic icon. =]
(Note: RMVXA or VXAce can be used as the text - if you want to, you can give both versions and we'll see how they look. Only one version will be used in the final, and it is most likely going to be the "RMVXA" version for consistency purposes.)

Well... why not? It wouldn't be fair to the community to only allow one person to make the graphic. =\
In the same way that it wouldn't be fair for us to accept a new forum logo from a random person feeling that it needs to be updated.
It only makes sense that, now having brought it directly out into the open, that we allow anyone (willing to support the community in this way) to at least have the opportunity to present their version(s) as well. =]

Also, note that originally when I saw this post I was going to simply create the graphic myself because I hadn't even remembered that it was missing from our list of topic icons. If I were to do that and completely ignore your graphic, it'd be just the same as not allowing anyone else to participate in helping out in this way.
It would be selfish of me to make the icon, just in the same way that it would be selfish of you to assume we must only use your icon since you reminded us that we haven't completed that topic icon yet.

Of course you can change the text, that's what we recommend. We didn't set up the contest idea simply because you had the wrong text on there, lol.
It has to do with fairness and the fact that it allows others the opportunity to help out. Contests are fun and promote good quality when there is competition. =]

Also, we will not use anyone's graphic without their permission, so of course we will PM you if yours is chosen.
Though I'd recommend that you put a few different versions with different text if you really want yours to be the one that is selected. =]
And it really wasn't necessary to remove your graphic from all of your posts simply based on the fact that we are being fair to everyone. Seems rather selfish to me. Not sure what your reasons are for that, so I'm not going to judge you as being selfish. =\

I removed em to save my dragon because I wasn't sure if you would actually prohibit them from using it so I wanted to be safe.

I have been working on this all night and I am tired and I dint expect all this when I noticed there wasn't a Ace topic icon. I didn't see anyone saying anything about it. I was just trying to help not jump into a massive competition with thousands of other members.

That's cool, just wasn't sure what that was all about, lol.

It's just a small contest to see if we can get a bit of variety in there and get some more involvement from other members.
Giving everyone a chance to contribute something and the one that best matches, is consistent, and looks appealing should rightfully be used, eh?
Who knows? It could be yours even after others submit their own versions, lol.

I like the part where he takes the RMVXA Game.exe icon and says nobody else can use it.

I'm not familiar with the icon used with VXAce.
Do you mean that dragon icon doesn't belong to ShinGamix?
If it does not belong to ShinGamix, then anyone is allowed to use it. If it was created by ShinGamix, then permission is required to use the dragon icon.

I print screened and edited them back with the transparency's and stuffs. Check my previous post.
And I guess his dragon wasn't a perfect match, but still. Not trying to be mean or anything Shin.

Excellent! It has many versions of the text, many different coloured versions, with varying icons, and even RGSS3!
Maybe just have a different font or perhaps make the font slightly thinner (but still readable) so it fits on the icon nicely? My only issue.

Perhaps it wouldn't look so bad to partially cover the icon with the text?

Thanks Tsutanai - I like the RMVXA text better and the dark blue is probably closer to the colour we'd want.

I actually just took the VX icon and added a letter and new picture
since it has the word VX in it I figured it should be similar

From the top-right, go to the sixth from the right and then go to the fifth from the top and you have the perfect one that I like. :3

Put that one behind RGSS3 and RMVXA! ^^
