The Sacred Cave

A game where you have to solve puzzles and find unique items if you want to proceed to the next area.

Story

This story has 3 parts so I'll explain each of them.

This story is about a twelve year old boy named Kelvin. Kelvin lives in a poor town named Long Pond and everyday people in his village goes to rich towns to beg for money. Kelvin hates the fact that he has to beg for money so instead he decides to start robbing rich people. But one night he decides to rob another house then gets spotted. When he runs away an earthquake happens and he falls down a pit. Now Kelvin must find his way out.

After Kelvin defeats one of the monsters he encounters a man named Zerin. Zerin thinks Kelvin is exploring the caves because he's searching for the treasure full of gold. When Zerin explains to Kelvin about it, he knocked him out and threw him into a jail cell. After he wakes up he then decides to search for the treasure so he can use the gold to provide for his friends and family.

Kelvin finds a wand called "Wand of Destination". That wand can teleport you to where ever you want. So he decides to use this wand to teleport people outside the cave to save them

When you start the game, you're going to start in the dark. Go to your item menu then choose candle to light up the dark

If there's anything I need to fix like mapping, event errors etc. please let me know!

If the boss battle is too hard also let me know that.

A tad late, but I just found some time to give this a go. First, since it has a demo, you might have better luck reporting it so a mod on this site can move it over to Project Demo.

Next, onward to the game at hand. It sounds like it can be a fun game, if the player knows what's going on. We begin the game without any story at all, just tossed into a dungeon and left to figure out what to do. I played through the first three puzzles, and they all had the same solution, which is to use the jar I found and fill it with water in order to solve the puzzle.

Naturally, this started to bore me out, so maybe mix the puzzles up a little? I'm sure as you progress the puzzles will get much more interesting, but as the focus is on puzzle the player is going to want to be pulled in right away instead of later. And maybe include a short introduction to your character, what his purpose is, and what the player should expect.

Edit: By water puzzle, I mean, each puzzle takes multiple drops of water, and my glass only holds one at a time, so I have to fill up the glass, use the water on the puzzle, go back to the water, and repeat.

I also finally continued on to a maze where I'm supposed to get a hammer for a boulder, except the maze is rather large, the hammer is hidden in a chest, and it's all dark except for a very tiny speck of light around my character. I'm not a terrible fan of dark puzzles, but at the very least the light should be surrounding me enough to see more than just my characters and maybe a 1/2 inch surrounding me.

My advice is to fix up the puzzles, because at this point they don't feel very exciting.
