I'm excited, but not because I want to get the iPad 3 (I have an Android phone, but my parents have lots of Apple mobile products).
I like to see Apple's stock go up, as it has done for a while now, because that means my stock investments are making money! =D

yay biggrin.gif - im more excited about ios 5.1 and what new features will be included for my iphone 4s
X-M-O
Have they mentioned any particular features that you are interested in seeing? Or is it just "better"?

I dislike Apple, literally just a product that you can use to show off wealth, I'd rather have something more practical. Like X-M-O's Android lol.
Imo, Android does nearly anything an iPad/iPhone can do but better and with much better efficiency. Android is also better for tinkerers >:D Apple doesn't let you create bio-weapons with it's products as stated in it's ToS (Not even kidding here).

Siri speaks Japanese and there is rich text support coming to notes (thats a waste, why not everything), the battery preformance will be fixed.

In june-july of every year its thought that apple releases a new IOS so this year they should release ios 6, how ever I fear they will break that and continue on with Ios 5.2

5.1 doesn't seem to have a lot of new features. It does how ever need a serious face lift.

I think it is absolutely vital that people buy apple products. They are cutting edge, re-imagined versions of what we already have. If there is a market no one is dominating, Apple wiggles its way in there and the brand loyalty does the rest. They usually have the best product, but that doesn't mean they run the company on innovation more than style. It is all a light-show.
That said, if my wallet was a bottomless pit, then yes, I would be very excited about this.
However, while it is vital that someone buy apple products, that person is not me. I prefer to let the ingenuity trickle down into other markets, then buy what was 'cutting edge' five years ago and use it now, because it still works just fine wink.gif

I would personally like to see what would happen if Virgin, Google, and Apple collaborated on something. Topic for another time perhaps...
Adrien.
All I care about is the IOS update >_>

I'm too broke for Apple products :-( They are total innovators, but I haven't been too impressed with the Apple gadgets I've played with considering their prices. I just got a Kindle Fire - it's awesome and way cheaper, though it only has 6GB of available storage and you can only buy apps from Amazon's store (although I'm thinking of trying to root it to install the Android market - anyone experienced at doing that kind of thing?)

Ah lol, I thought you were excited for iPad 3 =o
I want to point out that I'm mainly an Apple hater due to their insane prices.
$1,000 for an iPad? Nah.. I'll go with this $599 beauty that has better specs tongue.gif

I like it. I also personally am not very interested in mobile technology at all.. I don't really use it, I got a phone for christmas and I haven't touched it at all. Besides taking a picture of dinner.
Legacy
Android > Apple.

Apple suck, the only Apple product i have is an Ipod 5th gen. I detest Apple, and will never invest in any of their products. Why go for something I cannot modify? At least with Android I can mess around with the source code, and create my own ROM. They only release the same product, but a newer version to get everyone hyped up.

It doesn't work on me Apple. Not until you go open source.
Adrien.
I love apple - I hate their prices but love their stable, secure and fast software

It's looking like mobile is the future of games right now, especially for indie designers, which is why I got my kindle.

I never got why people liked Apple products.

They tend to be over priced for what they can do and even then the system specs tend to be quite low. Theres a bunch of alternatives as well, BlackBerry, Android, Windows, Acer, and a lot more.

So... I don't even.

finish sentences?

Haha nah I totally agree, Apple are a good company, there's a degree of quality to their products that simply doesn't exist with most companies. Their not out for a quick buck I guess is what I'm saying. But they are still trying (and succeeding) in getting way more bucks than their products are worth.

It really all depends on what industry you plan on going in, if it's media related your only going to see Mac's in the studio it's just how it is. If your into game development it works both ways as all major Engines support cross platform, the best engines are on Windows.

Apple didn't start the tablet craze but it helped move it forward and the iPad 3 does have the highest resolution of any tablet and if you care about resolution it's the obvious choice.

And about pricing, I'd hardly say Apples mobile devices are overpriced as they start at $500, well samsung's galaxy tablet is at $500.

I love both camps in the mobile world, blackberry is dead IMO, Windows may revive itself with it's windows 8 platform (great, as I can easily port my games or software to my devices easily.)
Myst
Media related, Mac? Get out of here. Everything a mac can do any other platform can do as well and for usually cheaper.
A mobile device to cost five hundred dollars is insane. Just get a frickin' android or blackberry (which btw is under a new ceo and council now so shits changing) Most of apple crap couldn't even be compared to its rivals and alternatives. Which is why it amazes me how many people buy this over priced junk. :/

Your simply not seeing it as the industry sees it, nuff said.
For a developer, you develop on all major platforms which is iOS and Android, Windows and Mac.

Blackberry Bold 9970(whatever that magic number is) doesn't compare to the iPhone 4s or Samsung's Note( I really like Android Ice-Cream sandwich, they got it right this time around.) For a business user it's an obvious choice, for a developer.. I just don't see it.

And your right..partially, it all comes down to software and hardware, a studios hardware will blow anything in the consumer market and they're running very customized Mac Pros (which are not going away for those folks, but maybe to the consumer market it might).

Honestly, don't feed the fanboys crap.

Just because you have a higher speced system does not mean anything, one OS might require more resources than another OS and that's 100% true. Linux uses a considerable amount less than Windows but lacks Software, OS X requires less resources than windows and has the software but costs a lot more. Windows uses more resources, but has unlimited configurations, and has the software.

OS X doesn't have to run on a Apple labeled computer even though EULA says so, just know the OS architecture, what CPUs, GPUs, and motherboards it supports.

Please, read up on OS architecture and you'll see why one is optimized over another and uses less resources. Less is more and better, just not in the PC gaming world.

I like all camps and can afford to like all camps, both OSs are very well tuned and serve a purpose. Microsoft wanted to capitalize on the Business and Gaming world, they succeeded in that (it's why you'll see Windows PCs instead of macs in offices.) But OS X capitalized on the Art and Music world and they succeeded in this population. Both Windows and OS X can use Adobe, Autodesk, Quark Software, and runs perfectly fine until it comes to OS Specific software.

To be fair, all of the the best games I played were on consoles that plug into a television. I hope they don't die out because games like the God of War series would be impossible to duplicate on a computer, and those games are worth their price tag..

Ignoring emulation (my laptop can now run GC and even some PS2 games and its a generic model, its not exactly new and wasn't even top of the line when I bought it) they could easily be rereleased on computers by the companies themselves. I remember a few years back when no-one thought GC emulation would come to fruition because of the limitations of contemporary hardware (that is, realistically; no point buying the new hardware simply to emulate when you could pick up the console on the cheap). Nothings really stopping it, a computer's hardware is incredibly (and easily) customisable; The only thing I prefer about console games are the controllers and their easily hooked up to computers, or you can even buy controllers for a computer.
