Strangely enough, the music is still better than most of the newer Mario music... ><

Hmm... Well, I didn't finish all of them yet, but I say the ones that is worth your money is Megaman X, and the remake of the first one, Megaman X: Maverick Hunter. Then X2 through X5. X6 is OK but something about it isn't right, haven't played much of it. X7 was handled kind of bad with the 3D to the 2D-3D switching, and the target lock on... and bad voice acting.
X8 restored the 2D platforming, but kept the characters in 3D. It's handled better and I like the added bonus where you could play as the three female operators.

I am not a big fighting games fan but this game really took the cake it's amazing. I'm still fresh with this game so I don't know many characters but my favorite at the moment is Jin Kisaragi. I suck at controlling Ragna the Bloodedge. Everyone keeps saying that Uncharted was the better option but I'm glad I got this game instead.

I guess. I was never a true fighting fanatic - can't play Street Fighter for anything, and I don't have the fighting stick/whatever for MvC 3, although that's a great game - but Uncharted 3 just didn't live up to its predecessor in my mind. Not to say it wasn't excellent...
I'm playing a great parody of the MGS series, called
Merry Gear Solid 2: Ghosts of Christmas Past. It has a lot of backtracking, but it does have engaging stealth action, great writing, and a tactic of taking itself very seriously in the most ridiculous of situations.

Finished Katawa Shoujo last night. So now I'm resuming my aborted playthrough of Tales of Xillia. It's the second Tales game I played (the only other one being Tales of the Abyss) and while my knowledge of Japanese isn't good enough to understand everything, the game is pretty fun to play - and you can't stunlock bosses by spamming combos like in Abyss which means it's much more challenging.

I love Eternal Sonata! One of my favourite RPGs on the 360. :3
I tried the demo for Mass Effect 3, because my brothers were so into it, but it was really short and didn't have the same feel as the older ones (not that it's bad or anything, but from the demo I'm not sure I like it as much as the first two). It's not exactly my type of game either, I'm only interested in its story, but its story has issues even in the demo and I'm not sure I care to watch my brothers play/beat the full version, lol.
Anyway, when I have time, I'm either playing Spiral Knights or I randomly pick a game out of the closet and play when I need to get my mind off of things (mostly PS2 RPGs and games on the DS). =]

What's your in-game name? :3
"What's so special about Spiral Knights?"
- Its simplicity.
- It's visually attractive.
- The characters (costumes, etc.) are cute and fun.
- The company that makes it was bought out by SEGA (after I had already been playing for almost 2 months, but it was a good thing and nice changes have happened since then).
- It doesn't force you to play for hours a day (you can do many other things, and in fact it encourages you to only play for a short time due to it limiting you - similar to how Facebook games did, except Facebook games failed at limiting people from playing them obsessively). Note that I'm not an obsessive game player, I only play games when it suits me and when I have time; this game doesn't demand a great deal of time and is fun every time I go to play it.
- The gameplay mechanics aren't difficult to learn (it's nothing insane like "mastering the keyboard" like my brothers do in WoW) and can be customised very easily.
- If you want to play obsessively, you can, but it would cost you money. (Which is fine, because it's cheaper than spending a quarter on one of those old arcade games; if you do the maths).
- There are always lots of new things that are developed in the game, keeping it fresh.
- If you're interested in a creative story, it's there, but it doesn't force you to play the storyline (you can do "missions" if you want, but they aren't required past the first time you enter the game).
- It has a built-in monetary system that simulates supply/demand in a creative way (that I happen to use for creating in-game wealth; similar to how I invest with my father in stocks).
- It can easily be installed in minutes (with a decent connection) and it doesn't take long to receive game updates when they exist.
- The only player "ranking" system is between you and your friends (and guild mates) and isn't publicly displayed anywhere (unless players post the information up on their own). I like this feature because I really hated the Runescape listing feature where you have a "top player" that you can never possibly beat if you aren't playing the game 24/7... (And if you are, that player must stop playing altogether if you ever want to catch up.) So not having that information displayed, is great because you aren't competing with people you don't know - but if you want to compete with someone, then you just have a friendly competition with them because you can only see their progress if you're their friend.
- You can play PVP without risk of losing your "gear". (Unlike Runescape, WoW, etc. where you take unnecessary risks despite just wanting to have fun.) And there are game rewards for winning and losing PVP matches (these rewards don't require risking anything, and you can get better rewards if you bribe the in-game NPC).
- There is a mini-game that is very similar to Bomberman - and lots of fun to play - with rewards. =]
- And there are probably a few other things I'm forgetting.

Also, I think you need to reduce your graphic settings in-game if you are having latency issues. (The game itself barely requires a few kbps per second to run; which is much better than other games out there.)
Kaust
Mar 10 2012, 03:57 AM
Just a few kbps huh? It might work here o.O
Figured it'd still require a decent internet connection since, y'know, its still online and connected to other players.
If it does work for a guy without broadband it gets major kupos kudos.
Eternal Sonata was great, the Ps3 version had a few bonus things added to it, which is always nice (though sucks for xboxers who didnt even get a patch or anything). Disappointingly linear (though there was room for some exploring in dungeons I guess) but such a great concept (and actual dedication to it), great story (one of the best endings I've seen in a game), and really just beautiful graphics. Plus I got one of those sleeve cover boxes that were all shiny and awesome and just way cooler than games without it...

I just downloaded a remake of my favorite 2D beat'em game of all time. Streets of Rage Remake. No joking, this is the BEST fan made free download game ever! They up the graphics quality, adding shadows and nice exploding effects. Added new stages and pathways you can take. (YOU CAN PLAY AS ADAM MORE) As well as combining three games together and forming a new storyline.
Nice unlocks such as bonus & making character, renaming, and even stage making I believe. (Still playing and trying to unlock them.) I been having a blast so far with this game. If you are a beat'em up fan, you can't pass on this. Check out videos of it on youtube and google the game. It's free. They went all out on this game, it's Street of Rage on crack. It's like a HD release on consoles.
Bombergames made this so help them out since SEGA gave them a hard time when they made this. =3

Oh, yeah, right now, I'm playing George Gershwin's "Prelude to Bill Daly" on the piano. Pretty hard, but I'm getting the hang of it - even managed to memorize a few measures for the big performance a few weeks from now.
Okay, so maybe it isn't such a good idea to post twice in the same topic to answer the exact same question, but right now, I decided to go back and play inFAMOUS 2 again, just for kicks (and senseless evil, since I never got to do that the first two times around). It was - and still is - a great open world game, and since I'm kind of saving my money to buy a new game... that is totally not Sonic Generations... and there isn't really anything else new I'd like to dig into around now.

I've been playing PSO (eps 1&2) recently. Well its not really much of a game but its a great dungeon crawler so its nice to drop in, complete a map, get a level or two and quit. Its kinda nice to have a 'casual' game that has no real aim.

Mass Effect 2 is every bit as good as the first. The combat is vastly improved and storywise I believe its goal was to flesh out the galaxy by including more hub worlds and characters. It's so deep and so well written, and well worth that tenner.
I'd recommend playing it, then importing your character to ME3.

I know that feel, bro:).
I actually bought the game, so that sucks.
In my opinion:
It's not such a bad game, but I was expecting more from Techland. I was expecting more
than just another typical zombie beat-em up. I thought they were going to make the first
zombie beat-em up that takes stuff like this (zombie infection) and makes a good story with it.
But what I got was a tedious beat-em up with EXTREMELY frustrating enemies and missions
in late game, along with a flat voice acting and weak characters. though it's actually better
when playing with friends. But i still dislike the game
I'd give it 6.0 for singleplayer and a 6.9 for multiplayer.
