I've been making a horror game in VX but as of late every so often when I turn on VX it gives me invalid data message. What's corrupted tends to be something minimal like mapinfos.rv and commonevents.rv but its still a hassle to fix it every time. This has happened to me three times now and my project is always saved within the same path. I don't take it with me anywhere or etc. Has anyone had this problem before?

I've had a problem on my older computer, I was actually a decent way through building a game. All of a sudden,
when I tried to open it one day, it said "Failed to load actor data". Never got it to work again. :/
I would suggest moving your project out onto your desktop or something.

I doubt location is the problem but I'll move it if you think that's the problem. Thanks. Has anyone else had this problem before?

I've not experienced this but it sounds like an added script might be interfering with the base scripts required to make the game function.

Doesn't have anything to do with scripts; using two or three programmed by me and a lighting script.

This kind of things happen when you save your project. It's a bug in the editor. XP had this problem on its earlier versions too, I remember the editor crashing when I previewed messages and my map files getting corrupted as a result. It sucks but you can't do anything about it except regular backups.

This should really be in the FAQ on the VX section.
Lots of people encounter this problem and believe it's there fault.
Damn editor! You weren't good enough!

Though, if it happens often, it might also be a PC issue.

On that note, I would reccomend re-downloading the editor.
You can download the trial here,
http://download.cnet.com/RPG-Maker-VX/3000...4-10815920.htmlAnd once it's installed and such, you would;
copy the main rmvx.exe,
navigate to the original installed directory (i.e. C:/program files/ enterbrain/ rmvx/ )
And paste the clean executable there.
Although, you may have to re-enter your activation code since it's the trial version, but it should give you a clean version that won't crash.
I've got no idea if this would work or not, but theoretically, it would.

I had this happen to me once, and it corrupted my whole project. You should back up your project as soon as you get it fixed (if it can be).
