Is there a way for a skill to inflict one status effect at random (so only one of either poison, confusion, sleep, etc)?
Or not even random but just give the appearance of random (a way to make 'em do it in a certain order and I'll mix it up a bit)?
Yeah, I've no idea basically...

Hmm... You could do this by calling a common event that forces the enemy to inflict an attack that does a status.
Do I have to explain more or you figured out my riddle

Well its a skill intended for the player's use, so I can't rely on it looking random through the player's unfamiliarity of the enemies skills
If that's not what you meant spell it out like that Rick Astley riddle and maybe I'll get it...

As ridiculous as it sounds, this made me figure out how they did Quina's Frog drop attack in FF9 (and I'm totally stealing it).
Variables man, anything they can't do?

Oh yeah, When you start to utilize the variables you can go a long way
