Hi there.

Wow I forgot I made an account here. Anyway I figure as a programmer in training I should try programing something on the side. Even though it kind of pseudo-coding it's coding none the less and I think it still requires the same level of thinking.

For now I'm sort of testing common systems from breath of fire:

Breath of fire 2's dragon tear mood system

A over world character change.

I was thinking of an breath of fire cross over type parody game so it would be nice to get a good grasp of it. I'm not hoping to be the exact set up as the real game. It's my attempt at a full game after all. happy.gif

---

For the dragon tear mood system I got the the backbone of it complete so it can change colors just fine depending on the variable amount through common event. The main issue is kind of an appearance issue. If you played BoF2 when character completely trust you the tear cycles through different colors of a rainbow. I was able to simulate that effect but it either freezes the entire test game, or it stops flashing as I talk with someone. I should mention I set all the dragon tear colors as pictures.

So the question for this is, "Is there a way to create a looping picture that keeps looping while talking with another character?"

It's no big deal if there isn't a way I can just make one picture of a tear with all the colors on it at once.

----

As for the over world character change system It's still under development. I set it so that I can switch the hero sprite by pressing 1 - 4
to change into a character in the party. Now I was wondering if it possible that in an event where you reorganize the party You can put can assign what "slot number" the characters go in. For example A party with Bob, Zack, Mike, Tyler are assigned number keys 1 , 2, 3, 4 respectively. If I go to switch order I need to update whose is what number. I figure complete character switching is the same or similar.

I assume it'll take a bit of work but hey I'm going into programming anyway so I have to at least try. tongue.gif

Any ideas and/or answers are much appreciated. yes.gif

Yes it's possible, and the solution is as long as your post. But thankfully, not as hard. All you need is a couple set of algorithms for tracking and "counting" and you are set. Email me at the email in my profile and I'll get you all set up.
