Hello and thanks for reading.

I only have three simple issues that I was able to do back then or always wanted to learn.

1: How do I make characters, lights, smoke, etc move in place? For example, I just want to make an NPC look like hes walking but hes really just standing still. I remember doing this in VX and i'm sure XP is capable of doing it too, but I simply forgot on how to do it.

2: How can I make NPCs say a custom name? Lets say when you start the game, you name your character, then speak to an NPC and he/she says the custom name. I think there is a command for it, but I never learned it.

3: I remember in VX you could mix and match tile sets. I was wondering if this is possible in XP? Is their an all purpose tile set or will I have to do with these generic themes?

That's about it. Other than looping music these problems seem to be bugging me. Thanks again guys.

I hope this could help.

For No.1 : In the event options check the boxes " Direction Fixed " and " Stop Animation ". For moving smoke, I suggest you use an animated Fog or Panorama Script ( I mainly use Moghunter scripts, but that's just me. )

For No.2 : If you are not using any custom AMS, just include the ' \n ' command in the text box.

For No.3 : If you want to combine or mix tiles, use Photoshop or Gimp and make a new image equivalent to the added tileset heights of both then just import it in the Materials Database ( Press F10 ) and then go to the Tileset command in Database ( Press F9 ) and start configuring your new tilesets.

Hope that helps, well then, Goodluck. smile.gif

EDIT : I misunderstood the question no. 1 ( Sorry my bad. ) Well if you want to make an NPC move while NOT walking ( FF1 Style, I think? ) here is a mini tut.
Event TUT

In the Event Options find the Autonomous Movement and select Custom:

Then find the appropriate next "Frame" for it to move and add an Wait command for 4 frames and so on..

Well Hope That Helps smile.gif

It took me some time to realize that "stop animation" referred to the animation when you're not moving.

Yeah, all you have to do for an NPC walking in place is tick the "Stop animation" box. This can be used along with "Direction Fix" for things like smoke, so it doesn't change when interacted with.
