I have searched for a few hours and all I can find is RPG maker VX tutorials on how to import icon sets (even when I clearly type in RPG maker XP NOT VX). I am quite new to RMXP so yes I am a noob at quite a few things.

So basically I need new icons for my game (10 of each type of weapon and armor) "The Last Life". So far I have found random sword icons and so on but then I found an icon set. It has everything I need but when I import it, it wont allow me to "split them up" you could say. Is there a way I can import one of these icons at a time? Is it a VX thing? Or do I have to go into a paint and cut a single icon out at a time I need and save it then import it?

I don't know of a way to import the icons without splitting the image, but you could use something like http://imagesplitter.net/ to quickly and easily split the image.

XP doesn't support iconsets, only single files. You'll have to cut them one way or another.
