Hi guys! Since I'm part of the staff, I get to make some articles about some cool things that can be done in RPG Maker 2003. I'd like to know what kinds of 2k3 things you guys want tutorials on so that I don't make them on things that you guys don't need.
Keep in mind that I'm trying to do things that can be used for a variety of other uses, are moderately easy to do (not super hard, but not super obvious either), and/or are in very high demand by a large amount of posters. Also, I will not cover anything having to do with any sort of plugins, just the things possible within the vanilla version. Here's a couple of things that I can make articles on:

Making indexed sprites in GIMP (ones that actually work!)
Setting up terrain that makes noises
Password-guarded doors (using a variable)
Character swap (with an item)
Season changes (with chipsets and variables)
Making your own battle animations (and different ways to use them)

Feel free to suggest things that are not on this list. I'm looking forward to helping you guys!

Sounds great. I don't really use RM2K3 myself, aside from playing the games, but it's a good effort in keeping older makers alive. My suggestion would be to include a tutorial on creating a quest using multiple variables, since variables are what people struggle with the most. Beyond that, the list you have is a good start.

Since you are creating (or planning to create) a series of tutorials, perhaps you should also include a master list when you have a few of them for easier access.

That's a great idea, amerk!
I would say that adding in a small "signature-like" list of links (underneath each tutorial published) of all previous tutorials/articles you've made on the subject of 2K3.
I can help with getting it to work properly, and it can certainly benefit readers. =D

Nice work, both of you! ^^

I'd like to suggest a flying enemy tutorial. I.e., making enemies that can only be hit with aerial attacks. Savvy?
