Nina felt relief wash over her as her companion denied the accusation of being a Nightmare. At least it far more sentient than those ravenous beings. Nina let a smile escape her. She just couldn't help but feel charmed by those ears.
The cyborg, no, the girl, bowed whilst pointing at her neck. That gesture plus the absense of any speech was more than enough to indicate that she could not, indeed, speak.
"Oh that's aweful," exlaimed Nina. "You aren't hurt or anything are you?" she took a step forward intending on looking for anything that might resemble a wound, almost failing to notice the girl point at her weapon. "Huh?" she exclaimed trying to interpret the meaning behind the guesture. It took a few moments to click, but she understood. "Oh... I have a weapon of my own," she answered, reaching behind her and touching the cleaver she kept strapped behind her when it wasn't in use. She paused for a brief moment, some uneasy feelings resurfacing, but was quickly snapped back to reality. "Oh, by the way, my name is Nina, by the way," she at last said, introducing herself. "Is there anything I may call you?"
The friendly conversation was interupted, however, as a raider caught sight of the two, now that they were standing out in the open.
"Hey!" he called out as he approached, knife at the ready. Nina backed away in suprised, but triped over a rock in the process, falling on her back.
"So there were more of you hiding over here? Don't matter to me though. You're both fricken dead!"

NIKKO smiled as the woman seemed to ease of some stress and NIKKO was thankful that she had made a strange but quick friend. Sighing she noticed the woman show her a weapon on her back. At least she could protect herself. She seemed to have a strange facial expression while looking down at her weapon. Perhaps she regretted having it.
The woman then introduced herself and just as NIKKO was about to show the women her name, a loud shout came from somewhere near by.
'Nina' as she called herself seemed to move backwards from the speaker making NIKKO realize that it must not be one of her companions. The man started yelling he was going to kill them both and suddenly Nina tripped over a piece of rubble behind her.
As she was falling NIKKO watched the man start to pull a gun. Not wanting her new found friend harmed she slid sideways across the sand her footed claws curling into it digging them further in as her body slid slightly behind it and pulling into a slightly crouched position, the man fired and luckily NIKKO had just reached the area in front of Nina enough to flinch the bullet off her left shoulder pad. Baring tiny fangs she would have hissed at the man if she knew how.
No one would hurt this woman. Not if she could help it. NIKKO suddenly pushed her metal clawed feet and hands into the sand and push lunged into the air landing on the man's shoulders and ripped his head clean off reached in through the gaping neck hole and tore out his heart. Pushing the man's body over as she landed where he now stood she threw his head to the floor and turned slightly, noticing another man coming from behind Nina.
NIKKO quickly processed that a friend would not be sneaking up on her in a time like this so it must have been an enemy. Lunging back towards Nina on all fours she feared she might frighten her so stopped midway and lashed her 'spine' around her body which yanked her body side ways while snapping the mans neck off to land next to Nina. NIKKO crouched in front of her and smiled, with blood covered claws and feet, proud to have protected her new friend and hoping she would take her with her. She slowly turned around and lifted the small back part of her jumpsuit to reveal NIKKO tattooed in her skin. "There, now she knows my name."

Another raider hit the ground with a loud thud, but a louder sound ricocheted out into the dry desert air: a gunshot. Graym turned in the direction of the shot, but quickly saw the raider dispatched by a new arrival. That wasn't what caught his attention. He turned back to the final building and watched it creak and bend under its own weight. Like the final breaths of an animal in its death throws, the building shook without specific pace, just a desire to stay standing. That wasn't what caught his attention either.
He drew his pistol and aimed it at the ground. Eyes clenched, he fired. The bullet came out of the gun and hit the ground. The gunpowder was behaving as usual again. Elders seized the moment and turned to the remaining raiders. In an instant he dispatched another five, before nothing but hollow clicks could be heard. His gun was empty, after just six shots. The impossibility factor had disappeared; they had arrived at their destination, or nearly had. Before he could fully take in the information, the remaining raiders surrounded him, their guns drawn.
"You're outnumbered, Graym." one of them breathed, his exhaustion poorly concealed. "Give us the map."
"Forgive me if I'm wrong." Elders began, unable to hide his joy, "but I actually believe we have you outnumbered now."
The raiders turned around and realise it was true. There was only five of them remaining, and one of them was wounded. They hesitated for a moment, but continued to point their guns at Graym.
"A little help would be nice guys" Graym joked, clearly enjoying the situation more than fearing it.

Keon took the chance to sneak up behind the raiders, Grinning as he stood up and grabbed one of them, Knocking him out with the hilt of his dagger, one of the four remaining turn around and quickly takes a shot at Keon, which he narrowly avoids and Delivers a swift punch to his jaw before slitting his throat, you could still hear the scream coming from the raider's silt throat. The remaining three raiders were confused if they should aim at Keon or Graym, Keon figured this would give Graym enough time to finish the job.

Addo had been fighting alongside Graym the whole time during this whole fight, except by the very end, where a shining light grabbed Addo's attention, a fine bottle of whisky that one of the attackers were carrying, Addo immediatelly hopped out of the fighting just to go and grab it, he'd look at it with a satisfied look on his face as he examined the bottle over, it wasn't completely full, but regardless, it still had a lot of alcohol in there.

Addo was happy, he took out his canteen and started transferring the contents of the bottle over to it. It was then he noticed Graym's call for help, he made some faces as if the urgency struck him but filling the flask took priority, as soon as he noticed that his canteen was started to overflow he simply drank off the rest of what was in the battle and let out a satisfied sigh before he hurled over the empty bottle towards one of the people surrounding Graym.

The bottle smashed to pieces against the man's head and he fell face down against the sand, Addo then took out the knife he had taken from one of the other attackers in the beggining of his battle and threw it as well, hitting another one of the men right in the back, tearing apart one of his lungs, as evidenced by the fact the man fell to the ground, gasping desperatly for air. Addo fixed his rifle's strap on his shoulder and then started to walk towards the others, staring down at the last of the raiders, who, if he knew what was good for him, would start running, now.

Nina was shocked by the body that landed next to her. She turned to stare at the fresh corpse. There wasn't much blood, he did die from a broken neck afterall, but the collision caused some blunt force trauma and blood was trickling from it's head.
Images immediately flashed through her mind. Scenes of dead bodies cut to pieces lay before her. She placed her hands on her head, as if suffering from a headache, trying to control her thoughts.
Her trance was cut short as her friend returned from her work, revealing her tattoo.
"Nikko..." Nina said as she stood up, her mental state under control again. "Is that your name?" Nina smiled as she recieved aknowledgement. A few more gunshots rang through the air reminding Nina of her friends. She looked over to see them finished up with the raiders.
"We... should introduce you to my friends... if you'd like."
BulletVixen
NIKKO watched as her friends face turned kinda grey for a moment and then smiled when she saw NIKKO's name. The girl looked over as more gunshots went off which made NIKKO flinch a bit and tighten her muscles. Looking back she saw the others finish off another enemy and kinda stand around, blinking back to Nina the as she asked if she should introduce her. NIKKO smiled widely and nodded putting her claw out to help Nina stand. And they slowly made their way over to the others.

The priest smiled sadly. "I am a friend," he told her. He pointed at Laet's leg. "One who can see that you won't make it far on that leg." He inched toward her, then gestured for her to sit. He immediately went to work on the wound, using some of the metal rods from the earlier battle with the mechanicals as splints for her leg. He glanced toward where he had left the girl, hoping she was alright. He noticed the quick skirmish with the newcomer, then he noticed the last of the raiders moving to surround the group, even though the numbers were by now nearly even.

He closed his eyes and applied his hands to the wounds on Laet's legs. There was a slight glow as warmth left his hands and began radiating through Laet's leg. The glowing stopped after a few seconds. IT was the same time that Graym had fired his shot. "Damn. Factor's dropped. I'll have to finish this manually." He opened his satchel again and began digging through it, looking for something that could help with the healing.

The last raider gaped in horror as his companions fell. He barely hesitated a second before turning on his toes and running back out into the desert. Graym walked forward to give chase, but the shot in his side stopped him. As the man grew ever more distant, Elders reloaded his gun, and brought it up to aim. As his bloodied finger stroked the trigger of the revolver, the raider disappeared entirely.
"We must still be moving" Graym deduced in a disappointed tone, "He's left this place, could be anywhere in Limbo now. I dare say something else will get him."

He looked over his shoulder as the final building gave into its death throws and began tumbling to ground, turning to dust as it did. Laet turned to the Priest, "Listen, we're gonna have to get going" she said, thankful for the medical attention but more worried about her life than her leg, "Give me some support and I'll be able to walk."
Bill Nye
"Well at least that's over.."" Keon commented as he fix'd his hat, noticing Nina and her new friend making they're way over to the rest of the group, except Laet, Keon didn't know where she was. "Hey! Nina!" He yelled as he began to wave and approach her.
Thubanus
The priest looked up at the building beginning to crumble. "You know? I think you're right." He closed his satchel and put his arm around Laet's shoulder, helping her to her feet. Together, they limped out to where the rest of the group was waiting and where it seemed safe. He smiled at everyone as he slowly eased Laet to the ground again. "It's good to see that everyone's alright, all things considered."

He glanced down at the bodies of the raiders. "Too bad about them, though. I think they could have benefited from joining you, instead of fighting. But still..." He knelt beside one of the unconscious raiders and felt for a pulse. "This one won't be coming back any time soon. That's for sure."
Sparrowsmith
Elders, even while injured himself, offered his other shoulder to help Laet walk. She took it, finding it easier to rest her leg between the two of them. Graym cast a look at the man assisting her.
"It's ok, he helped me." Laet explained, "I didn't catch his name." Graym nodded to The Priest as a sign of thanks, before addressing the group.
"Okay, looks like we've got some new blood on the team. That's good, more eyes and muscle keep us more aware of our surroundings and better able to act on them." he paused, pressing hard on the wound in his side, "but we should probably get some introductions and such going. If you don't already know, I'm Elders Graym, I'm not exactly a leader, but I know this place better than anyone" he put his head to one side, frowning, "well almost anyway. This here is my partner in crime, Laet Shore. Rest of yas can introduce yourselves, I'm saving my breath."

Nina took Nikko's hand careful not to poke herself the sharp claws. After helping herself up she led Nikko over to the group, her hand still clutching her friends. Even with the battle over, she still felt the uneasiness from earlier, and she really wanted to hold, to ground her to reality.
The crew looked rather worn out from the battle with the raiders. Addo and Keon were relatively unscathed, but Laet, and Graym were clutching wounds. Considering all the encounter with the Goliath, Nina had gotten out unharmed in comparison.
Just as Nina found herself in the position to introduce her new friend, her reserved nature took hold of her again. She wasn't sure why she was more open to someone she had only met moments before. Maybe because Nikko was a girl like herself. Maybe it was because she couldn't speak which force her into the assertive role. Nina stared into the sand for a few moments, collecting herself before finally speaking.
"Nikko," she said looking back to her friend. "This is Nikko."
Bill Nye
Keon quickly came to a halt a few feet away from Nina and Nikko, He was glad Nina was okay, but was still worry'd if she would try to cut him up again. "Pleasure to meet you Nikko." He said as he used his coat to wipe the blood off of one of his daggers. "I'm Keon Ludwik, I'm willing to bet i'm the fastest person in Limbo." After he was done introducing himself, he began walking over to each dead raider, checking they're pockets as he went. "Come on, one of you must have some food.." He mumbled scratching his belly.
BulletVixen
Nikko clasped her hand into Nina's and followed her over to the tattered group. As the man who said he was Elders spoke she noticed he asked them to introduce themselves. Well this was going to get annoying fast. As she was trying to figure out how to tell them she couldn't speak the girl next to her spoke and introduced her. Nikko smiled largely and grasped Nina's hand tightly, glad that this girl that seemed so young but so wise as the same time trusted her enough in the short while she had had to prove herself. She smiled down at her with a wink and looked over as another one of the men spoke. With her own introduction done she put her left leg far back and held her arm across her waist bowing her body and head. Then raised back up. Walking over to the two that seemed to be injured she gently let go of Nina's hand and patted it before leaning over the wounded girl. Holding her arms out she offered to carry her if need be, smiling lightly at the man holding up up for the moment. They both needed treatment. Badly.

The priest nodded back at Graym, then his eyes went to where he was clutching at the wound. "You won't be going to far today with a wound like that." He looked at the wasteland around them. "If only there was some kind of pole or something. Two of them would be ideal. We could make a stretcher. If not, we may need to see to that wound before we go anywhere. Yours and the lady's both."

He nodded to each of the others as they introduced themselves. "It is a pleasure to meet all of you." He looked back at Graym. "So... what's the plan?"
Sparrowsmith
Graym shook his head lightly, "I'll survive. I have a habit of not dying." he seemed more grieved by his statement than proud of it. Laet, on the other hand, was contemplating the offer of being carried.
"No offense boys." She said, managing to help herself into Nikko's hands, "but those arms are looking pretty cosy. Thank you, Nikko" Graym attempted to hand her her sword back, but she refused, gesturing she wouldn't be able to place it anywhere. Elders enjoyed the sword anyway, and so continued to hold it.
"To answer your question, oh nameless one, we have to head... South... I think it's south. Is that right Laet?" Graym asked, Laet nodded, "South. We'll find... Well... It's sort of like a river, we sail across it. We'll find a boat there, it'll be big enough." he groaned a little, annoyed by his wound, "Nightmares. Stay away from the edges of the boat."
"You're struggling Graym, you want me to say the rest?" Laet interrupted. Graym nodded this time. "After we go through the river, and boy do I hate that place, there's a supermarket - one of many in Limbo if you're new - then... You know what? We'll cover it when we get there. We should get going."
BulletVixen
Carefully reaching around the girls body so she wouldn't harm her any further Nikko hoisted her up and gently laid her legs over one arm and wrapped her own elbow around the other side of the girls ribs a bit tightly. Just in case they came across any 'bumps' in the road she wouldn't be dropped or even jostled as gently but tightly as Nikko had her grasped. Smiling softly she hoped the metal wouldn't be too cold for her skin. As the girl in Nikk's arms mentioned a river she flinched and began to breathe roughly. As long as she wouldn't have to swim, she didn't care. Just don't make her swim. She looked back at Nina with a somewhat fearful stare and hoped Nina would be alright. She stepped back to stand by her while still holding the other girl in her arms. She smiled down at Nina again. Then nodded to Elders showing she was ready to go.

With introductions more or less out the way, the group followed Graym south. Nina walked with the group this time around, as opposed to the ambivalent approach she took on the way to the werewolf village. She stuck close to Nikko during the journey, staying quite for the most part.
They continued through the desert as the sun slowly set. Much like village, they were treading into area which called for a more nightly atmosphere. As the sun finally ducked under the horizon, mist slowly began to form. It wasn't thick enough obstruct everyone's vision, but Nina couldn't help but wonder what mist was doing in the desert. Eventually they were accompanied by the sound of running water. The river was close by, no doubt. A faint sound of a boat's whistle was heard soon after, and the source soon came into view. A steam-boat, docked on the river shore, exhaust seeping out of the stack as if ready to disembark. It was not anything too impressive. Though it was an adequate size for the six of them, and it looked sturdy enough to last their journey.it's old, rusted, and hollow looking frame gave it the haunted vessel sort of image. Nina was hoping that was all that made Graym dislike this place.
Bill Nye
"Of all things..." Keon commented as he felt the boat, making sure it was real. "A damn boat.." Keon wouldn't admit he couldn't swim,
Keon clutched his fists and turned around, "Let's get going, the supermarket awaits!" He said trying to sound more cheery than scared.
It probably made him sound more scared, but he thought it sounded decently cheerful. So he just hoped for the best.

Graym hopped onto the boat, it was larger than the last time he'd been here, as he expected. While walking he'd steadily been holding his wound less, and now seemed almost ignorant of it, though the occasional drop of blood would still find its way down his side from time to time.
"I meant what I said before," he spoke after an entirely silent journey, "There are nightmares here, mostly in the water, probably like none you've encountered before. They shouldn't be able to harm you if you keep away from them, and definitely don't look at them."
"You said that last time." Laet chuckled, easing herself out of Nikko's arms, bowing in gratitude, "Didn't help much." she addressed the group, "To me, these things were pretty standard last time we came through, went down with barely a tap. They had a way of getting in the other guy's heads, though. We won't know until we get out there who they'll affect, or why, but it's pretty weird the things you'll see."
she hopped into the boat as well, only to fall over with a short yelp. Elders rushed to her, but she just laughed and stood back up.
"Gotcha!"

The priest walked in silence, following the group. When they reached the boat, he followed them on board, then found a corner to sit. He took out a book from his satchel, as well as an ink bottle and a feather quill, then began to write, occasionally glancing up with concern as he looked out at the passing horizon.

Addo followed after the group with a hearty yawn, all this walking around...Seriously...

And then they got to a boat, marvellous, really. "...Greaaaat...This is going to be horrible, just so y'know. Drunk people can't swim very well...Well, sometimes they can. But I can't...Doesn't even matter if i'm drunk or not, now that I think about it." He shrugged and took out his drink flask, taking a sip to build up courage as he then walked into the boat. Immediately feeling a shiver up his spine as he felt the boat's swinging, coupled with that feeling of all the drinks inside of him swirling around with the boat's rhythm. "...I'm going to...Sit down for a while..." He commented before he crawled himself over to a seat and took a deep breath, trying to get over that nausea.

Nikko carefully let Laet crawl out of her arms and as soon as she was safely feet down on the boat, Nikko ran over and pressed against the middle of the boat as far away from the water as she could get. Her eyes widening at the sway of the water she closed them tightly and curled herself into as tiny a ball as she could. Shivering slightly she kept one ear perked up in case Nina or the others might need her help. "This is going to be a long ride" she thought to herself, "whether it's long in distance or not, please just let us get there without having to touch it." She looked over as the man in the strange outfit with no name began to write something. Nikko crawled slowly over to him and sat just out of reach watching his movements. She curled back into a ball and blinked slowly waiting for the time to pass as the man wrote.

Keon followed the group onto the boat, noting where everyone was. He walked over and sat next to Addo, "You're not gonna puke on me, are you?" Keon joked as he opened his Locket and looked at the picture of his sister inside, trying to get his mind off the water.

OOC: Keon can't swim, Nikko dislikes water, Addo gets seasick, and Graym is wounded and has some reason to not like the journey. Looks like Nina and Priest are in for a long one.

IC:
Nina was the last to climb on board the boat. As soon as she was on deck, the horn whistled, and smoke erupted from the smoke-stack as the vessel began the journey.
Nina walked over to where Nikko was curled up into a ball.
"Are you okay?" she asked. kneeling down so she could be as close to eye level as she could get. "Is the water a problem?"
When it was apparent she wasn't going to get an answer of some kind, she walked over to the railing, leaning over to watch the waves.
The dark navy colour of the water slowly turned into a more violet colour as she watched giving it a more menacing appearance. Her heart nerely stopped as a disembodied arm surfaced from the water. Gasping, Nina backed away, but peered overboard once the initial shock was over. The arm was still there making motions as if to grab hold of something to drag with it into the water, though it didn't have the reach to do so.
Nina could not relax, however, as an eerie sound filled the air. The voices of people moaning as if in agony. She looked ahead to see more arms emerge from the waves on mass, until there was little to distinguish between the river and these disembodied limbs.
Nina could feel the fear take hold at the sight. "Oh my god..." She covered her mouth with her hands, almost as if she was getting sick. "What is this place?"
Sparrowsmith
"I like to think of this entire place as God's blind spot." Graym said, "All of Limbo, I mean. It's not quite hell, but it comes close. Stay away from the water though, last time I looked in there..." he hesitated, flinching as a voice whispered into the wind, "I saw someone. Someone I was better off not seeing."
"To be honest," Laet started, "I don't remember much of when we passed through here. I know I didn't see or hear anything, but it still creeped me out. You might wanna step away from the edge, plenty of room over here, we can get properly acquainted." Laet smiled, trying not to let circumstance interfere with pleasantries.
Thubanus
The priest looked up from his writing when Graym spoke. "I don't know if I would call it a blind spot," he said. "I think of it more like that twilight time right before dawn, when it seems the darkest, but the light of day is just around the corner." He set his writing aside and stood. "Speaking of which, let's see if we could look at some of these wounds, now that we are in a somewhat stable situation." He walked over and kneeled beside Laet first. He began untying the bars that he was using for an emergency splint. He took a leather thong from one of his pockets and handed it to her. "You might want to bite on this while I work. I need to set the bone back in place, and it might hurt a bit." After she put the thong in her mouth and was biting it, he grabbed her leg on both sides of the wound and twisted it back into place. He winced as Laet cried out.

"I'm sorry, Laet. I don't mean to cause you any pain. I had to do this so that it would heal properly. You're doing well. The hard part is over for you... Now, we pray that the Impossibility Factor is high enough and that God is listening, and we'll have you completely healed in no time. Then, we can see to Graym's wounds." He brought his hands together over the wound and closed his eyes in prayer.

Nikko shifted slightly as Nina seemed to become upset, slowly she started to crawl over to see what was in the water but stopped as Graym began to speak. Hearing the details she stopped in a out stretched position and quickly yanked her arm back against her chest. As the hooded man began to stand she crawled back to the middle of the boat and hid her head under her arms. Flinching as Laet seemed to be in pain, Nikko crawled over to her then and sniffed along her ankle. She smiled briefly seeming to think the treatment was helping and glanced back over to Nina to make sure she was still alright. The water was bad enough, but everything else that seemed to be going on around them made it seem much worse, she just hoped they could get to the town soon. She hoped that perhaps she would be more helpful on solid ground. Sliding over she sat next to Laet and held out her hand offering it for something to hold onto if the pain rose too high. Then realizing her metal limb would probably only make it worse she quickly pulled her arm away and glared at the ground, still pushing her side against Laet's for warm if nothing else. For some reason it did seem to be getting colder. Or was it just her, who knew.

Once everyone was inside and ready, the boat pretty much started moving on it's own, as announced by a loud racket coming from it's engines down below, after a bit of noise, the boat suddenly jolted forward a bit as it unanchored.

Addo was midway answering Keon. "No no...I think that...If we just don't move too much, i'll be fin-" Just as he was about to finish, the boat took off, and with it, pretty much all the alcohol that Addo had in his stomach was pushed by the movement as well, quickly covering his mouth with his hand, Addo ran over to the edge of the boat, pretty much disregarding the danger for the moment as he leaned over the bar to puke.

Just as the boat started to move, however, it also alerted several nightmares that resided in those waters, who would now promptly start trying to drag the boat's passengers into the depths. Arising in the most varied forms, these creatures would start crawling their way up the boat, or, since the current was still weak at the moment, simply stretch themselves over to the deck's height. One of them, however, was interrupted as his climbing was interrupted by having some sort of yellow-ish stinky liquid thrown on his face, he pretty much fell back into the river immediately.

As Addo leaned backwards and walked away from the edge of the boat, wiping his mouth with his sleeve and letting out a loud, pained sigh. He shivered and shook his head, noticing all of the nightmares crawling their way up the boat then. "All right...Company...!" He'd state, before retching a bit.

OOC: Retcon alert?

IC: Nina jumped back, not expecting any more nightmares. So much for a nice boat ride. She ran over to Addo who seemed to need the most help at the time. She kicked a few Nightmares in the face as it climbed up causing them to fall back into the water. She took hold of Addo moving him away from the side of the boat so that Nightmares didn't pull him into the water while he retched. She lay him next to the injured Graym before running back to the Nightmares. With most of the group not in their best shape she was going to have to do some work for a change. Drawing her cleaver, she charged, hacking at the first Nightmare to climb aboard. It wasn't a very strong foe, it seemed, for it immediately toppled over, blood splashing Nina as it died.
Nina's eyes widened as if shocked, as she felt the spot on her face where the Nightmare had the pleasure of bleeding on.

Graym lightly pushed the Priest away, "Not that I don't appreciate the effort." Graym said coldly, "but if there is a god watching this wasteland, I don't think he and I are on good terms." he drew his gun and turned to the nightmares approaching the boat. It was a struggle, shooting the nightmares which did pose a threat, but avoiding looking at the others, and he doubted he would be able to for the entire journey. As another nightmare attempted to board, he shot it through what resembled a head. The mess slowly altered into a face, resembling that of a person; a woman. Graym seemed less than impressed by the gesture, and shot through it another three times until it fell back into the water. Laet looked on sympathetically.

A hand wrapped itself around Nina's ankle as she stood in her stupor, yanking her overboard into the river below. After recovering from the initial shock, Nina frantically glance around. She was dragged under the water, the disembodied hands dragging her body further and further into the depths. She struggled to break free, but with over a dozen hands holding her tight, she could not break free. Just as she was about to pass out from the lack of air, she caught sight of a figure. A man, in his late fourties, covered in deep cuts in his flesh as if someone had cut him up before throwing him into this river.
"You!" it growled as it faced Nina. "You sent me to hell! And now I'm dragging you down with me!"
If Nina would have screamed at the moment if it were physically possible.

On the surface things were looking rather grim. The disembodied hands rattled the boat, as the humanoid nightmares continued to climb aboard. The current pattern was disrupted as the sound of a struggle could be heard below the surface. Countless disembodied arms sank below the surface and nightmares emerged belly up as the water changed from a dark violet to a deep crimson.

((OOC: Picture related. )

Addo, had, at this moment, just finished using his rifle to whack a nightmare in the face and sending him staggering backwards out of the ship, that's when he noticed Nina being pulled into the water. "Ma- Err...Woman overboard!" This was a problem, especially because the boat was moving, if they didn't do something quick, the boat would leave Nina behind, trying to act quick, Addo grabbed an old weathered rope and quickly tied it to the ship's bars, he then turned to the others. "Okay, we need someone to go down there and get the girl...! I'd do it but...You know, can't swim..."
Sparrowsmith
Elders rushed to the rope, hesitating. His head turned several times as he avoided the horrid gaze of the nightmares bearing itself against him, but tried to spot his drowning ally beneath the waves. His silence screamed the profanities he wanted to speak.
"Graym?" Laet inquired, but he barely noticed. He threw off his cloak and hat to keep them dry, revealing his forearms and whole face for the first time. He kept his head down, and his arms withdrawn from sight, before grabbing the rope and entering the mass of nightmares lurched over one another. He pushed against them, though they offered no resistance, and even aided him in his aim... He doubted they would be so kind on the ascent.
He found her face everywhere, the same eyes and lips that he knew long ago, but he ignored them. Then he came to Nina, or rather, the wake of whatever had happened. The water became blood, or some equivalent, and the nightmares seemed all but absent. There was fear in the air, but to who it belonged was a mystery. He looked around for Nina.

Nightmares parts floated past Graym as he dived deeper. Someone had gone "chop-chop" on these nightmares as they had been cleaved into two pieces or more.
Just as Graym would put the pieces together, a familiar girl shot up from underneath, which would have taken most people by suprise. Staring back at him was Nina with the same deranged look on her face as she did back at the village. The two simply stared for a brief moment, suspended in the water. Any sudden movements, and Nina would surely cut him up. To Graym's luck, it seemed like the necessity to breath overrode Nina's craze as she bolted for the surface.
Nina inhaled deeply as she broke the surface. She continued to hyperventilate, replenishing her air supply, as she awkwardly tried to stay afloat. Each breath calmed her repressing the primal instincts and putting her back into the normal state.

Graym followed Nina up. He was quite visibly perplexed but continued on anyway. He untied the rope from himself and passed it to Nina, seeing as her murderous tendencies had come to another abrupt end.
"Grab this and climb back up. I'm sure the others will help you."
He turned back as nightmares began filling in the space previously occupied by the corpses Nina had left behind. For a moment, he regretted giving Nina the rope. This was a bad situation to be in.

Nina's hand shot out to grab hold of Graym's arm. While she was grateful for being handed the rope, and was almost tempted to climb to safety, she wasn't about to simply reverse the situation. Not to mention that without Graym, the crew would be lacking their leader. And though the nightmares grabbed a hold of them and attempted to yank them back down, Nina's hold on Graym and the rope would not slack. She could only hold on for so long however, and ashe desperately hoped the rest of the crew could hoist them up before then.

Graym was almost stunned by Nina's determination to rescue them both. Almost, because the nightmares demanded he be prepared for anything, but he was impressed nonetheless. However, he found himself lamenting the lackadaisical manner of his crew. He could see over the side of the ship that Laet was the only one presently attempting to rescue them. He wondered how anyone could possibly have anything besides a sense of urgency at such a tense point in their journey.

Graym is so disappointed by lack of activity that he is almost breaking the fourth wall]

Addo had been busy dealing with some of the other nightmares that were trying to get on board and, simultaneously, dealing with his constant and sudden retches and urges to vomit, what with all the shaking. The fact the boat seemed to be getting each time faster didn't help, the increasing impossibilty factor could've helped, except he needed to be drunk to use it and sadly, that was not possible at the moment. Seeing his two party members showing up far behind, still holding on to the rope, Addo rushed over to the rope and put one foot on the rail to give himself support, while he used both of his hands to try and pull Graym and Nina back onto the boat.

Nina felt a tug on the rope. Looking up, she saw Addo hauling Graym and herself up. With hope renewed, she strenghtened her grip on Graym's hand. After several long minutes of resisting the splash from the river, the two were hoisted back on deck. Nina rolled over onto her back, breathing heavily.
Things were looking up for the team. Not only were they all safe again, the boat appeared enter clearer waters. The diisembodied hands disappeared below the surface, and the other nightmares gave up on their attack. Even the weather changed as sunlight broke through the dark clouds, vaporizing the mist.

[OoC Seems to be happening a lot lately...]

Graym rushed over to his cloak and hat, eager to cover up. Once redressed, he turned back to the group, gasping for air.
"Let's never do that again." he muttered. Laet looked at Graym. Her face was pulled tight, her eyes sharpened to a point. She was not relieved, nor disappointed. She was angry; furious.
