Here is a simple treasure chest that suddenly popped out of my mind, sorry no items in there yet biggrin.gif .

Very nice! It is a little empty though. Ahaha. I'd be disappointed if I opened a chest and there was no treasure.

Holding the treasure box alone between your hand is priceless! working on that chest atm adding some little details and touch-ups. I want a treasure chest which looks something like this with the background props I also welcome any suggestions on what should I do next.

So your making your own item icons? That's great! I think the one you have is perfect besides the detail and touches you mentioned. Are you going to add a lighting effect for when it opens, coming from inside the chest? Other than that, I can just think of making the different types of chests like in the game. Hope to see more as it comes along happy.gif

I fixed your spoiler tag for you. wink.gif

Also, I like the idea, but are you going to add an animation for every time a chest is opened?
For example, you press "A" next to the chest and it displays the opening animation (3D art you've got there) on the screen and displays text that says something like "Found 3,000 Gold Coins" or something.

@nanashi: Glad you like the treasure chest, will add lighting and items inside the chest next time. I intend to make this as a backdrop images but using it as an item icons is alot easier and more than welcome.

@xmo: You mean an animation sequence of still images? I can do that too together with a short video file for the sake of it, all depends on the kind of game biggrin.gif . Currently im working on a short VN (visual novel) which will use rpgmakevx as my choice of engine and my own created 3d backgrounds/ models for the game.

X-M-O
That's what I was referring to, yeah. =]

Awesome, just remember that a Visual Novel needs to be visual, so add those types of things in there. wink.gif

I hear that word "visual" biggrin.gif and was also thinking of adding a mini battle game just to get in the spirit of rpg maker. I did some quick back ground layout (not final) and playing with cartoonish render of my 3d models.

Daven
wow that is some great artwork, I really like how you did the floor... is the texture pre-rendered? I'd really like to see more! What program do you use to make those? I'd really like to get something like that for Christmas.

anyway good luck with the rest man, you got me really interested.

@daven: Thanks buddy! I use texture mapping on all this models and ill post some more later, I also working on walls right now with some texturing and baking biggrin.gif . About the 3d program I use 3d max and I can only wish I got the latest 2012 version this coming christmast!

Looking good so far. I guess lighting and shadowing will come soon enough, as currently a bright box in a dim room seems odd. wink.gif
Are you going to add mortar between the stone bricks? They're floating. D=

Thanks for the notice im really working on the chest and wall at the moment so lighting is not considered, I added some mortar as you have requested : ). Also for you guys wondering what's this funky chest doing at the corner of the wall is im still not done with them plus im having trouble with my computer lately so my work will be slow these days.

X-M-O
Yeah, time isn't always something we have. D=

Nice floor tiles and chest texturing. =D
Though I'd likely go with the same colour on the bordering for the chest. Having a two-toned chest seems as if the lid of the chest belongs to a different chest. Maybe it's just me, lol.
